Finally we have a video of their rhythm dance and free dance but no audio :( I've been looking everywhere but no luck so far.

They skated to Intergalactic by Beastie Boys and Right Here, Right Now by Fatboy Slim for their RD and Movies by Wayes Blood for their FD according to @/sunskate who attended the event.

That's their first comp done for this season! Still no videos or report for their music - I'll update you guys when I get it.

There are some glaring areas for improvement but there's potential.

The Twizzles... again. Level 1 for Linus and negative GOE - not ideal, and definitely where they lost a chunk of points. It’s tough because these small mistakes add up quickly at this level.

The lift combo (StaLi + RoLi) also received negative GOE, and the Curved Lift was called at Level 1, which is surprising and honestly frustrating. Especially for Bella, since lifts have historically been among her most consistent, high-scoring elements. She knows how to deliver here, so this felt like a bit of a step back.

The TES was significantly lower than what we’re used to seeing from Bella; around 10–15 points off her usual range. Between the low base values (B and L1 calls) and reduced GOEs across several elements, the total took a noticeable hit. PCS were also down by 5–7 points compared to Bella’s typical scores, which may reflect this being an early outing for the team as they build their performance identity together.

That said, Linus is stepping up, and there’s clear effort being made. It’s just that, right now, there seems to be a technical gap in the partnership that needs focused attention. This is fixable and it’s still early days.

The silver lining? Their choreographic expression is strong, the spins and slides are solid, and there is a foundation here to build on.

Every new partnership takes time to gel. Hoping they can come back stronger. 💙

2025 Lake Placid Ice Dance Championships RD

Debut Performance ✔️ RD 24/25 Music: Beastie Boys – “Intergalactic” // Fatboy Slim – “Right Here, Right Now” 🎶

First comp for Flores/Jepsen and honestly? Not bad at all. Not perfect, but there’s a solid foundation here. I’m a data girl so if you want to hear about it, let’s get into it:

💥 Twizzles: Bella hit L3, Linus hit L1 and possibly the ice (aka a stumble/fall). GOE went into the negatives and they lost a good 2–4 points compared to the top teams. That hurt. 👣 Pattern Step: Base level. Yep. The dreaded BASE. Another 2–3 points lost. Blame the Twizzle ripple effect. 🕺 Midline Step: Slightly lower than Bella’s historical average (about –0.5), but not a disaster. We’ve seen worse. We’ve lived through worse. ✨ Lifts + Choreo: Still their strengths. Strong and clean. For context: Bella’s debut scores in 22–24 seasons usually hovered around 59–60, so this isn’t out of character. Sure, she started in the high 60s in 24/25, but let’s not go there unless you’re ready to cry with me 😔.

Also, this is one of Linus' stronger RDs, so he’s stepping up. The potential for L4 Twizzles + L1 Pattern Steps is there. We see you, Linus 👀

It’s onwards and upwards for Team Flores/Jepsen 🌠

P.S: Skatingscores listed them as a French team 👀 but a birdy on the ground whispered that Bella was wearing her team USA jacket at the kiss and cry with a male coach that obviously isn't Elena. The mystery continues...

Not fishing for spoilers, but is there any word on what genre of music Bella chose for the RD? I love the 90s, but they really pigeonholed the teams creatively by limiting the selections to “high energy dance music”. After three seasons of this, I would kill for a waltz, tango, paso etc. Bella and Linus would devour a tango if their past performances are any indication.

I have my suspicions, possibly based on the soundtrack of a popular movie in the 90s. Hint: GLITCH. We shall see if I am right I agree, a tango would be S E X Y and they'd eat it 🕺💃

Linus last represented France over two years ago now, so I’m skeptical that his supposed release could be holding up a fed change (unless it’s an issue of recompensation). Everything up to this point seemed to indicate a move to represent France. If USFS is withholding Bella’s release though, then perhaps they pivoted. The question now is, where do they intend to train? Hopefully all will be revealed soon…

I'm quite certain Bella has moved to France and CSG permanently. The coach accompanying them at Lake Placid is from CSG Lyon. Pretty sure if Bella is sticking with WASA, either Logan or Elena would have been there with them.

The million dollar question here is more on which fed they will be representing...

SIDE NOTE: Bella just posted a reel on her subscription page and it's looking beautiful. Great costumes, gorgeous lines, fresh choreo. Both her and Linus look well matched and I'm personally very excited to see their performance. 🕯️🕯️🕯️CLEAN SKATE 🕯️🕯️🕯️

I wish the USFS video showed the kiss and cry 🙁. And actually had the music lol. I also swear that they had posted the 2023 US national championship but I couldn’t find it when I looked again. I loved Bella and Vanya’s FD in the 22-23 season, I think it’s under rated.

You're welcome! I checked today and the audio is all kinds of messy :/ but commentary sounds fine and though ice dance is nothing without music, I have their score memorized at least for that free dance 😆

I know we’ve seen so little thus far, but any initial thoughts and impressions of Bella’s new partnership? I imagine with everything that’s happened in the past year, there’s going to be a steep period of adjustment but I hope in time they can grow this partnership into something special.

I think it's been a minute since Linus competed so I don't know how his skills are right now, hope they match Bella's at least. I know it's been a bit of a learning curve for Bella going from Russian to French technique. I just hope they're scored fairly and not less than they deserve. I'm gonna wait until I actually see them skate together to say anything else! ☺️

USFS YouTube channel has the full Nats and Dance Final livestreams with audio and commentary. It used to be in their website with no audio. You can watch their first nationals there as well!

By any chance does anyone knows where i can search for BV FD national 2024 performance? The one on youtube are no longer available and felt like that was their best performance and gonna miss seeing them skating together on ice stage but hopefully things will get better for the both of them 💞

I have a feeling that they are still married. Based on some of Vanya’s posts on his subscription page in recent months, they’re still very involved in each other’s lives. For example he was just on vacation with Bella and her family and actually he was the one who picked her up from the airport when she came home from France. I think regardless of whether they are actually romantically involved or not, they clearly really care for and respect each other and have a strong connection. I guess it all makes sense to them. I also think, just based on his posts, that Vanya intends to stay in the U.S. I actually think he has his own place now in Colorado Springs.
