dark sun n baby moon au is very cute! it gave me the thought of their lil ray hat sliding off and the baby just cries until its put back on cause they like to match their parent; like they don't feel complete without it (even if they don't realize it yet cause they baby)

Moons do seem to typically prefer wearing something on their head, the expected fashion is just usually nightcaps or jester hats. So to the Baby Moon it's not that he is yet aware of the shape of his hood - is just he needs the comfort of wearing something, once he got used to it.

We NEED more baby moon au please

Alright, only cuz I love it too, and need it explored more!

Baby Moon isn't kept a secret from the other Suns in the Sanctuary.

Plenty of Suns there eager to babysit and help with the little one, to sate their childcaring programming. Those who cannot accept seeing any kind of Moon around them, usually just keeps a distance to the areas the Baby Moon is kept.

The Suns in the Sanctuary recognize that it was created by Dark Sun and belongs to Dark Sun, and won't start a debate on whether or not Dark Sun's own offspring should be allowed there. They all assume he has a plan for everything, including his little one.

But...

... Dark Sun has yet to figure out exactly what went wrong and what to do about it.

FMABruary2025 - Family

"Family Reunion"

Essentially, the idea is that this is an alternate universe where Hohenheim and Homunculus met centuries back and managed to make amends and are now back to being brothers.

Homunculus is vowing to improve himself (differently this time), and wants to do better for Hohenheim. Even taking the time to painstakingly talk to his Xerxian souls, to please his brother.

The Homunculi are the extended family to the Elrics, and they are visiting them at Resembool, after Trisha heard Hohenheim mention how much it would mean to him. The homunculi get to meet young Edward and Alphonse for the first time and be the cool older cousins (except Envy, who just sulks in the darkest corner of the house).

The only problem is that Trisha and the Homunculus have never really gotten along, but they put up with each other for Hohenheim.

This took me far too long to do, and I was meant to add a "main" image for context, but I can't be bothered. It's almost midnight and I've got work first thing.

I’m going to give a hot take that might not make sense to the children in the fandom but I just don’t care: 

IT IS NOT FUNNY WHEN THE OTHERS BULLY SUN

And yes, I call them stripping him of his rays “bullying”, because a “prank” is only when BOTH parties are laughing by the end. You can’t just say “they’re just joking around with him, you’re taking it too seriously.” when he’s visibly upset about it.

I have been kinda seeing this pattern arise and I’ve been keeping quiet about it, but after the events of recent I just can’t let this go. 

Sun is being treated like shit by his family! Moon literally JUST told him that it’s his fault that Nexus went insane - I don’t care wether Sun was being petty or not, NOTHING justifies telling Sun that it was his fault his brother went insane! It would be like telling Moon that it was his fault Johnathan died! And right after that, Moon doesn’t say sorry!? He doesn’t admit he was wrong TO SUN, he doesn’t admit TO SUN that he shouldn’t have said that, he only says to Monty that maybe he went too far, and… THAT’S IT?? Nobody steps up to defend Sun, nobody confronts Moon about it, nobody checks in on Sun to see how he’s doing?! NOBODY? Like his feelings don’t even matter?! Like he can just take it?! Like Sun wasn’t so depressed about Nexus that he was stuck in his room for weeks after his death?! I guess we didn’t learn anything from THAT arc! I guess Sun really CAN just handle it on his own and needs no support from his family! (Edit: He tries to say sorry in today’s episode and ends up fucking yelling at him again anyway for not wanting to talk to him but I wrote this rant before that, and I still find it ridiculous that it took an entire week for Moon to even attempt to address this. A week is plenty of time for Sun to suffer over what he said. A week is enough for Sun to regress in the progress he made moving on from Nexus’s death. A week is enough for someone to kill themselves. Someone should’ve cared enough to check up on him THE SAME DAY, not in a week. Moon should’ve apologized immediately, not let Sun writhe in pain for days because he couldn’t face him.)

And now, right after Moon said that and EVERYONE KNOWS SUN IS GOING THROUGH A ROUGH TIME, Molten decides to bully Sun even further by stripping him of his rays?? We can argue back and fourth about wether his rays count as hair or not, but they are the closest thing to hair that Sun has, since they decorate his head and he appears “bald” without them. Imagine how horrified and humiliated YOU would be if you woke up and your family was laughing because in the middle of the night they SHAVED YOUR HEAD FUCKING BALD. Imagine if they got a razor, grabbed your hair, and FUCKING SHAVED IT OFF, leaving you BALD. All the hair you had worked so hard to grow and maintain, the hair that you felt comfortable in and made you feel like you could appear normal around others and have at least a little bit of confidence in a crowd, is now gone and you look ridiculous! 

And nobody scolds the person who did it! In fact, they’re LAUGHING. The people who are supposed to love you are FUCKING LAUGHING. Nobody seems to care that you’re distressed that you now HATE the way you look and are ashamed of your reflection, they just LAUGH. Because of COURSE they do, it’s ALWAYS funny when you’re suffering, your family ALWAYS LAUGHS WHEN YOU’RE SUFFERING.

That’s Sun’s reality right now. And I AM TIRED OF IT.

Sun is always treated as the butt of the joke. He is ALWAYS the comic relief. 

And he is NOT. He is NOT comic relief! He is not Olaf or Sid the Sloth or a fucking Minion, he is OUR SUN! He deserves respect and dignity and love, and his family just… doesn’t care about him enough to give it to him. They just see him as a whack-a-mole toy to mess around with and forget about once they’ve had their fun. They just don’t care about how he’s affected by their mean “jokes”!

I’m sorry, but I just don’t find the distress of Sun to be funny, because I don’t find bullying funny. The  people who find Sun getting bullied funny might just have something seriously wrong with them. It just feels like those “Squidward torture” episodes that people (rightfully) criticize from modern SpongeBob, for example. Why does Sun have to be tortured for his family’s entertainment? It’s not funny. It’s just not funny. 

I drew this because I wanted to show his actual emotions that he’s surely feeling about the bullying he’s experiencing right now, and how it’s actually affecting him off-camera - sure, he’s probably putting on a brave face around the family, but we all know that’s because he knows that if he reacts too extremely the bullying will just get worse. His family is a pack of bastards, and Sun deserves justice. 

GIVE HIM HIS RAYS BACK YOU ASSHOLES, SUN DESERVES BETTER!

I hate hair

I hate that they have so much of it in all directions
