“Love, Time stops, doesn’t it? Are we not testaments to this? Two old, misplaced souls, Asleep for seventy years? So close your eyes, love. Maybe seconds can be minutes and minutes can be hours and hours can be unending eternities Where I don’t have to open my eyes To a reality without you. So, let’s sleep. Let the world go to hell. For we deserve a soft epilogue, my love. We are good people, and we’ve suffered enough.”

drama weilan is so good, they're funny, flirty and stupidly in love from the very beginning, but novel weilan is truly something else. they're off the charts levels of crazy weird (derogatory) the both of them. if you thought drama weilan scenes were the unhinged version of normal tropes, then you have to keep in mind they were obtained by passing the novel through a bleach wash twice. drama weilan are obsessed with each other, novel weilan are physically, spiritually and psychosexually entangled, literally having parts of each other's body and soul inside of them in a way that can never be unraveled and that was sealed by acts of cannibalism. drama weilan died for each other, novel weilan cursed each other as the only way to barely exist under the same sky, but never even within reach, killed for and actually vowed to kill each other with their bare hands not as enemies but as lovers sparing the other from that same curse that was needed for them to even have a remote chance of being together. fate asked them to choose the greater good, and they twisted fate so that the greater good could include their lover's good too, even if it meant causing them both harm. novel weilan constantly look for each other because they have that need etched in their bones. it's choosing the other but also needing the other to survive but also considering the option of dying to spare the other their suffering, a suffering which the other will always choose over another million things.
