Wardrobe Essentials For This Season
As much as we love long puffer jackets, extra layers and faux fur details, it is finally time to say goodbye to them. However, with the weather getting warmer every day, the list of this season’s must haves becomes larger. Check out these bits that we sorted out as fashion must haves from the streets of fashion weeks, favorite fashion bloggers and magazine covers.
CLEAR DETAILS
Clear details have been on the very top list as street style most worn accessories. Anything from hats to shoes and handbags - if you can see through it, you have to have it in your closet. Just make sure to carry the most instagrammable stuff in your handbag, since everyone is going try and catch a glimpse at what you are carrying.

WHITE TROUSERS
One thing that is absolutely worth your investment for this season is a pair of white quality trousers. They just make everything easier - fresh vibes are a great start for Spring, neutral color does not require high styling skills and they are acceptable to wear on any occasion.

FLORAL DRESS
Nothing screams ‘Spring’ more than a floral dress. From flowy, knee length designs to tight maxi dresses, everything is acceptable this season. They are such staple pieces themselves, that you no longer need to worry about accessorizing that much. If you are not comfortable to wear them on their own yet, have in mind that they are perfect for layering.

PINK BLAZER
If you look closely, pink blazers have already occupied all of the stores’ racks. They are definitely trendy staple pieces, which means that you might pass a couple of people wearing the same thing on the streets. Oversized dusty pink types seem to be the most wanted at the moment, so be quick and try it out yourself.

NEUTRAL COATS
If you are wearing floral dresses, bright colored shirts or trousers, the best tip for this season would be to tone it down with a neutral coat on top. This piece is also worth the investment, since you can wear it over years, no matter the season really. They have definitely been a bit left out in the past years and over shined by leather jackets and trendy rain coats, but we are happy to see them coming back stronger than ever.

Everything You Need To Know About Riccardo Tisci
As most of you already know, Riccardo Tisci is the new famous creative designer at Burberry. At Folie we decided to bring you a little scope of his history in the fashion world.
Born and raised in Como Italy since 1974, his family was very poor and, having 8 sisters, he had to work since age 12. By the time he was a teenager he was already designing patterns for Missoni. During the late 90’s he decided to move to London where he, with the help of a scholarship, attended the prestigious Central Saint Martins College.
He landed his first contract with Puma, which he later decided to drop. It was her close friend, super-model Mariacarla Boscono, who pushed him into launching his first line. From then on he was in the global fashion scene!
Givenchy hired him for his first haute-couture in 2005. His complex designs, usually influenced by gothic and mythological patterns have been an icon for the brand since then.
His style has been based under the principles or artistocracy, irony and chic. He usually hangs with famous artists like Modonna, Liv Tyler, Marina Abramovic and models like Naomi Campbell, Joan Smalls and Lea T.
However he has never forgotten his humble beginnings, always supporting his big family and nephews. In 2017, after 12 years in Givenchy, he abandons the brand for the head creative director of Burberry, where he joins Marco Gobbetti.

60's Beehive And Other Hairstyles For This Spring
Besides clothes, if there's something to pay attention during Fashion Week, is beauty trends! At Folie we noticed an upcoming 60s hairstyle influence in and out the runway and here's our list of 6 looks to try during spring!
Beehive
First brough to light by Jane Fonda as Barbarella and the pop band The Ronettes, it's a big bouffant hairdo that resembles a beehive. This hairstyle was present in many runway shows like Miu Miu.
Hairflip
It was first lady, Mrs. Jackie Kennedy, who made this hairstyle famous at the beginning of the 60s. Tons of hairspray, teasing and wearing hair rollers to bed are necessary to make your flip last the day. Among others, we saw this trand in Moschino show.
Vidal Sassoon cut
Similar to Twiggy's clean pixie, Vidal Sassoon got his fame in the sixties thanks to this signature hairstyle. This year Guido Palau brought it back with his colorful version for Marc Jacobs.
Hippie hair
Be it with or without bangs or beret, hippie hair has been around for quite sometime as an all-time favorite.
Ribbons
The it-accesory for your hair this 2018, big ribbons were seen on and off the stage in all the cities during Fashion Week this year. You cannot miss this trend!
Afros
Although it's not exactly from the 60s but from the next decade, keep an eye for this natural hair trend.

We Are Obsessed With This High-Street Brand And You Will Be Too
Not many know about Weekday, one of the little sisters of the H&M group. It’s a relatively new brand, that tries to take that scandi minimal look we love to the high-street, with some of the best prices on the market. The result are young and modern pieces, simple and very easy to pair with everything, without losing the trendy element. Their new initiative, a weekly print project named Zeitgeist, releases new t-shirts with designs reflecting on current events every week, with limited quantities. And they’re sold out every single time. They’ve got a few “in real life shops” (in fact, the 6th of April they’re opening a new one in Brussels) but their main selling point is their website. Keep scrolling to see our favorite pieces from the brand's latest collection.

Spring beauty guide for 2018
This spring is all about be different and unique from clothing to beauty. There are plenty of trends to follow and give your own spin to it. Instagram gurus are the best source to get inspired and create different looks of your own. We have put together a short list of the biggest and some interesting beauty trends for Spring this 2018.
Thumb liner
Forget winged liner, Tom Ford has create a new look for liners and its the thumb liner, a small smudge in the outer corner of your eye. You can creative and use different tones and shimmers to make it pop. It looks like you have put a lot of effort into it and it literally only takes 2 minutes.
Apart from this, going back to getting inspired but Instagramer beauty gurus and influencers. There is a trend that seems to going round the social media platforms with liner. No one wants to stick to the boring regular liner and now are creating shapes and waves with their eye shape.
Below is a fantastic example of this with beauty guru Teisha. She is constantly creating very different looks with liner and it just works!
Grunge is back
Giorgio Armani left us wanting more with the grunge vibe on his runway for this Spring/Summer season. Black smudgy eyes and cherry red nails and totally in!
Pretty in Pink
Another trend that has come back is being super girly and pinky blushed cheeks. Sometimes less is really more and this sun kissed pinky look is perfect for this season paired with a flow-y loose dress.
Dewy and shiny
I'm loving this look for those summer nights on the beach with a cocktail. This screams dressed up but still classy and laid back. Perfect dressed up, easy look.

Best Paris Fashion Week Street Style Looks
Miserable weather did not manage to interfere the best street style looks of Paris Fall/Winter Fashion Week. And we are very thankful for that. Most fashion icons who came to Paris from places that don‘t usually go below zero degrees celsius, had to find a way to keep themselves warm, yet look their best in between the shows. That is why all kinds of layering and oversized coats were the base of majority of the looks. We looked through everything and chose our favorite bits and trends to share with you.
Suits
Many ladies chose to rock a one color suit this season, which is our new favorite trend. Doesn‘t matter if it is oversized or tight fit, the combination of a blazer with matching trousers is the perfect muscular look. Paired mostly with white shoes and simple accessory choices, the ladies were bringing us all of the possible girl boss vibes.

Pop of green
Under all of the layers, it was very common to see pops of green details. From dresses to turtlenecks and shoes, this bold color accent was fashionistas favorite. Vibrant green is already making their way to the store shelves, so this is a definite must have this season.

Clear accessories
And if we had to choose the ultimate trend of this season‘s street style looks – see through details would be it. Bags, hats, shoes and even long coats were made in to clear pieces this season. And yes, you could actually see what everyone was bringing in their bags, which is always exciting.

Statement trousers
Going along with the more masculine flow, statement trousers were a hit also. And let me tell you, the more unusual, the better. Baggy, highwaisted pairs with ankle details, alongside flowy, ill fitting, rare materials were our favorite.

Lavender
The one color that completely took the shine in Paris was lavender. With vibrant violet being the color of the year, it seems like all tones of violet are going to pop this season. No matter if it‘s just a couple of details or a full head-to-toe look, lavender was there.

Most Incredible Beaches In The Canary Islands
Last week I visited the Canary Islands for the second time, and went to Fuerteventura. These Spanish islands are truly a unique place in Europe, with really special landscapes and temperatures around 25C in March, which is totally crazy. And because of that, it’s obvious that I spent most of the days at the beach. Here’s a little list of the best beaches in the Canary Islands (and three of them are in Fuerteventura).
1. El Corralejo (Fuerteventura). The most interesting thing about this beach is not really the beach (that is amazing by the way), but the dunes behind it. Kilometers and kilometers of sand dunes, separated of the beach by a narrow road to get there by car. It’s an incredible landscape, like nothing you’ve ever seen before, and so worth visiting.
2. Charco de Palo (Lanzarote). If you’re looking for something different and you want to lay in the sun all day and do absolutely nothing, this beach is your spot. Charco de Palo are a group of tiny beaches, in the coast of Lanzarote. They’re like natural pools, and the water is clean and calm, very different of the braveness that describes the coasts of the islands. And because they’re small, they rarely get very crowded.
3. Playa Negra de Ajuy (Fuerteventura). Ajuy is a little village in the west side of Fuerteventura, where the ocean hits the coast with its full force. The little village is in front of a small beach, surrounded by cliffs, but a very special one: the sand is black, black like all the rocks of the cliffs and the mountains around Ajuy. Even if it’s not the most inviting of all beaches and the ocean is probably too strong to get into the water, go for a walk around the coastline: the views are incredible. It’s one of my favorite places.
4. El Cotillo (Fuerteventura). The north of Fuerteventura is known for being the part of the island where all the water related sports get together. And especially in the El Cotillo area, where the waters are brave and the beaches long and flat, surfing is the main activity. But if you don’t feel like it, lay in the sand and relax. Or go and have a tea or a coffee at the chiringuitos on any of the beaches, watching the sun go down until it drowns in the sea.
5. Playa de Diego Hernández (Tenerife). If you’re visiting Tenerife anytime soon or just doing a little search on Google, you’ve seen this one for sure. It’s one of the most special beaches in the islands for its resemblance to the beaches on the Mediterranean coast, although it’s in the Atlantic Ocean. White sand, a very long stripe of beach and turquoise water it’s what you’re going to find there. And not many tourists depending on the time of the year.

Classic Movies You Must Watch
Bored of watching the same old boring comedies that make millions in the box office but aren’t that funny and minimalist hipster dramas? Me too! That’s why I’ve complied a list of the best classic movies to watch this year!
Everything from 1930's classics to 90's chick flicks. These are my top movies to watch this 2018. There is something for everyone.
It's a wonderful life is such a feel good movie and great especially around the holiday time or even just on a rainy day at home with a hot chocolate! American Beauty is a modern classic with an extremely engaging plot twist you will not expect. Kevin Spacey and Annette Bening steal the protagonism and its hard to say who the star on the movie really is. Clueless is a chick flick essential to watch in your teenage years. This 90's teen movie is great to watch with your girlfriends on a sleepover night with popcorn and champagne.
If you are in the mood to cry and watch a movie that pretty much everyone on earth has watched go for Forrest Gump. Tom Hanks portrays a young southern boy who is made fun of a lot and takes on his journey through lost love and struggle. If that doesn't sound like your cup of tea go for a fun comedy with the late Robin Williams. Jumanji is for me, still one of the best movies of all time. With Columbia Pictures doing a sequel this past christmas, the first epic movie is definitely one to watch. If you feel like watching one of the oldest classic that exists go for a Charles Chaplin movie and one of my favourites and most famous has to be modern times. This black and white silent movie will make to smile, cry and laugh out loud.
Another cult classic has to be Pulp Fiction. Uma Thurman steals the movie alongside her co-stars John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson. It should be one of the top on your 'movies to watch' list.
These three movies are some of my top of the whole list. The Wizard of Oz is such a feel good musical movie for the whole family, no matter the age. Judy Garlands iconic voice and the costumes from 1939 are incredible and you won't be disappointed.
See no Evil, Hear no Evil is my all time favourite comedy movie. Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor have various movies together, including Stir Crazy and Another You, which are also very funny but there is just something about one blind person and one deaf person witnessing a murder that will make you cry with laughter.
What movie list would be complete without James Dean. He was the iconic sex symbol of the 50's, unfortunately we lost him too early from a car accident, but the movies he had managed to made are simply iconic and still named some of the best acting pieces of all time.

Best outfits of the Oscars through the years
We will soon be rained with plenty of eye pleasing outfits and starlets waking the red carpet waiting and hoping to get their hand on that gold still man the call an award. The Oscars are one of the most prestigious awards of all time in Hollywood and its pretty clear that if you win one you are on Hollywood's A-list. There have been some interesting outfits through the years with lots of body revealing and intricate gowns from top designers. Here are some of the best dressed celebs of all time of the Oscars through the years.
Probably one of the most iconic actress ever to roam on earth. Audrey Hepburn stunned in the Givenchy gown for the Oscars in 1954.
Barbara Streisand is another iconic actresses from Hollywood and wowed us all with this sheer mod Arnold Scaasi dress which she wore to the 1969 Oscars and took home an Oscar of her own for Funny Girl.
It was the amazing 80's and Debbie Allen represented the best of the best of that time. With bold shoulders, all over embellishments and a thigh-high slit, she looked like a disco ball for the 1982 awards ceremony.
This Supermodel was the It-girl of the 90's and it was clearly shown at the 1993 awards ceremony as she wore a body-hugging Herve Leger dress that marked her figure perfectly.
It is pretty obviously that Kate Hudson is Hollywood royalty considering her mother is Goldie Hawn. She really looked stunning in the 2003 Oscars ceremony with this champagne Atelier gown by Versace.
Charlize Theron looked absolutely amazing in this Dior sparkling gown in 2004 and took home an Oscar that night for her movie Monster. Good job she didn't come in costume to the ceremony!
Nicole Kidman looks party ready with this Balenciaga gown with such an exquisite bow draping from her neck onto the red carpet for the 2007 Awards Ceremony.
This has to be one of the most famous photos of the 2012 Oscars Ceremony with everyone calling it the Angelina leg pose. She looked exquisite in this strapless Atelier Versace gown.
Jessica Chastain channels Old Hollywood in this luxurious embellished Armani Prive gown with soft waves and such elegance in the 2013 ceremony.
Zendaya made her Oscars debut in 2015 with this gorgeous Vivienne Westwood gown. This so much controversy over her look that year, the young actress was given the opportunity to stand up herself and show the world she is.
Jennifer Lawrence and Dior are a match made in heaven and everything she wears thats Dior just fits like a glove. This lace and tulle gown was worn for the 2016 Oscars whilst she was nominated for her movie Joy.
I think its clear to say there is some high competition to beat these starlets to best dressed of all time. We are very much looking forward to seeing what the women of these years Oscars have in stall for us. We expect memorable statements gowns and some sort of salute to the 'Time's up' fight for stopping harassment in the industry.

5 All-Time Iconic Pairs Of Shoes
One must admit that at some point we have all fallen head over heels for pair of shoes. Maybe because of their style, of their comfort, for how did they make you feel, etc., and you probably felt like you would never find a pair like those. But most of the shoes that have been on the market are inspired by some iconic pairs of shoes that made such a statement, that changed footwear forever. Here’s a list of our favorites.
1. Manolo Blahnik Hangisi Pump. You probably fell in love with these ones when you saw them on Sarah Jessica Parker. The actress of Sex and the City is one of the biggest fans of her “Manolos” and has them in almost every single color. They’re the best selling shoes of the brand, which has made multiple versions of the same court shoe. The designer himself said about the inspiration 'I always had a fondness for brilliant accessories, so we created a court shoe with this beautiful embellished buckle, which I found in Italy. The whole shoe was inspired by Napoleon I, Josephine and Pauline Bonaparte.'
2. Chanel Slingbacks. Every one of us that is a huge fan of Chanel has dreamed about these shoes at some point. Gabrielle Chanel designed them for the very first time in 1957, and she made them stylize the figure like its magic: in a beige color and with a slightly round and black toe, they make the feet look shorter but the legs much longer.
3. Gucci Loafers. We’ve seen them everywhere this past seasons, and in very different ways: the furry version, and slip-on one, etc. The first Gucci loafer was created more than 60 years ago, after WWI. And some things haven’t changed in all this years, despite the time and styles. They’re all made in butter-soft leather and almost all of them, with an almond-shaped toe.
4. Adidas Stan Smith. The white sneaker by excellence, the Stan Smith wasn’t even called Stan Smith when they came out in 1963 but Robert Haillet, another tennis player. The shoes where originally tennis court sneakers, and where made with white leather like nowadays. The design of the shoe has stayed the same since 1963, but there are more color options today than never before.
5. Church’s Chelsea boots. These are the real Chelsea boots out there. The British brand, with more than a century behind their back, has created some of the most comfortable and classic pairs of shoes than any other brand in Great Britain. Their Chelsea boots are the most popular ones, and they’ve got them in a huge variety of styles and with lots of details.

Spring Break Party Guide: Europe
Sometimes it can be hard to choose your next spring break destinations. You don't want to go to the typical party islands and maybe want to try something different and outside of your comfort zone. Here we have put together the ultimate party guide and what to do on your spring break in these fabulous European cities.
1- Amsterdam
Amsterdam is known for its beautiful canals, river boats, red light district, bicycles everywhere and of course their legal substances. Amsterdam is home to one of the best nightlifes in the world, with basement clubs and dance music all night you are bound to find somewhere to have fun. We recommend De School which, yes, you guessed, is located in an old school building. It's a club, exhibition space and lecture theatre all in one. It's definitely worth a visit.
If you are more of a daytime person, there are plenty of cool grunge bars and pubs all over the city; without forgetting, of course, the Heineken factory which is so much fun even if you are someone that doesn't like Beer, it is really an experience.
Tip: Stay at the Inntel Hotel  just outside of Amsterdam in Zaandam. Its a lovely area and quirky
2- Berlin
Berlin is also known for its underground nightlife with crazy clubs and grungy vibe. Its cheap, cool, fun and also very cultural if you want to do all the tourist attractions also. You may have heard of this club before for Berghain is known it be one of the most famous clubs in the world. It used to be a power plant and they have maintained the concrete and steel vibe throughout. Although it can be difficult to get into, its worth a try whilst you're there.
Like I mentioned before apart from the amazing nightlife, Berlin is filled with history. History that can be very sad, but very interesting and If you are there is definitely worth going, from the Berlin Wall and the concentration camp. Emerge yourself in culture and awesome underground sounds.
3- Milan
Immediately when I think of Italy, I think great food and shopping! Yes! This is for the girl that really wants to enjoy the sun, food and designers. Milan is one of my favourite cities in the world. It's a perfect size city and the nightlife is amazing. A little bit more on the expensive side but definitely worth going. With great clubs like Sio Cafe which plays all sorts of music and have great cocktails, you might want to wear a nice pair of Italian heels and that dress you spent too much money on after Christmas.
In the afternoons emerge yourself in the old Italian catholic architecture whilst having a shisha in front of the Duomo. Later in the evening head on over to the Navigili canals and have a drink whilst they play some great music. You will truly fall in love with Milano.
4- London
I can't say it enough but London will always have my heart. It's got everything from amazing clubs and pubs to great shows and theatres. Unfortunately it can be one of the most expensive cities on this list, but if you look around a bit online you are definitely bound to find offers on hotels or apartments and there are always discounts for students and young adults at clubs.
If you want something economic go on over past chinatown around Soho. They have really affordable nightclubs with happy hour sometimes all night.
One of my best Cocktails bars to go to is Be At One located in various parts of the city. They have happy hour everyday and if you download the app, you have an extra hour you can use. It filled with a lively atmosphere and first class cocktails.

Fashion documentaries you must watch!
Whether you are applying for fashion school, apply for a fashion based job or just really are into fashion thanks to the creation and advancements of technology now everything is available for us to watch and stream with various apps and programs. For me, still, there is nothing like opening a newly bought book, feeling and smelling that 'new book' smell and flicking through like there's no tomorrow. But, I have to say watching a documentary of these inspiring people is just as amazing as reading about them. You get to travel into their world and they showcase some of their best work and inspire us all to design. Here are some of our top picks
The Boy Who Made Shoes For Lizards (2017)
This recent documentary follows the footsteps of one of the most acclaimed shoemakers, Manolo Blahnik. With top celebrities in the industry, such as Rihanna, Galliano and Karlie Kloss singing their praise to him in this must-watch movie if you are a fan of everything shoes!
Dior and I (2014)
This critically acclaimed documentary tells you the amazing story of Raf Simons's inauguration at the  house of Dior. With the huge challenge of creating his debut couture collection as artistic direction for this house in just eight weeks. This movie follows Raf around in his intense and highly pressured journey, also seeing with clear detail the work of their hardworking seamstresses.
Absolutely Fashion: Inside British Vogue (2016)
To celebrate British Vogue's 100th birthday, the BBC was given a behind the scenes look of the closed doors of the HQ. Get close and personal with the key Vogue team members and see fashion top influencers. Alexandra Shulman also wrote a book of this kind called 'Inside Vogue' that same year and is also a great read into the behind of scenes of the magazine if you are left wanting more.
  Mademoiselle C (2013)
If one Vogue story for you isn't enough this documentary is bound to make to awe in amazement as you dive into the world of editor-in-chief Carine Roitfeld on her quest to find her new publication CR Fashion Book, following her departure from Condé Nast. With her debut magazine launching, follow her on her adventure.
House of Z (2017)
This Netflix documentary adheres to the formula in detailing the ups and downs of the American designer Zac Posen. He is a very young top designer compared to most at the moment which can be a little intimidating to some but has done very well for himself and is now loved by such celebrities as Beyoncé, Kate Winslet and Cameron Diaz.

Everything you need to know about Tiziano Guardini
Nowadays, pretty fashion is not enough. Trendy clothing pieces, sparkling collections and mega celebrities sitting in the front row of your fashion show means nothing if you are not delivering any message with your work. In the industry so wide and competitive, originality and what you can offer to the World is what really stands out. Tiziano Guardini is the perfect example of creating fashion that has a meaning.
Source: Pinterest
Green Carpet Fashion Awards winner
‘‘Green Carpet Fashion Awards winner‘‘ is the title that was added to designer‘s biography in 2017, to be more specific, Tiziano won ‘‘The Franca Sozzani GCC Award for Best Emerging Designer‘‘. If you have never heard of this event, it celebrates total provenance, sustainable innovation, and the work that has been and is being done in the supply chain to preserve sustainable production. Basically, making a movement to show the importance of eco-friendly fashion and proving that fashion can go hand in hand with nature. This event takes place in Milan, Italy, one of the most important supply chains in the World.
The details that went into Tiziano Guardini‘s collection spoke for itself – crushed pieces of disarded CD‘s and upcycled seashells instead of sequins were sparkling on light falling dress. His look was created using organic peace silk and recycled nylon, which satisfied the rules of Eco-Age‘s Sustainable Excellence and CNMI‘s [Camera Nazionale della Moda] guidelines.
Source: fashiontimes.it
Tiziano‘s relationship with nature started way before the Green Carpet Awards. He found himself being drawn to the fashion industry since the early teen years. His obsession with fashion never faded away, so he reached the Master degree in Product Management and became a Fashion Designer. His passion for handcraft was noticed after his exhibition at M.A.T. called ‘‘The seduction of handcraft“. Less Known Female Designers Who Are Killing It In Fashion Right Now
In the world of fashion, there is always space for new uprising designers. Some of them reach for the top successfully and become internationally well known brands, but there are also the ones that lack of some engagement. But the lack of publicity attention does not in any way mean that designer’s work is somehow less desirable. Here we have some bad ass female designers who’s names are not major known, but their works are killing fashion industry at the moment.
BEVZA
Behind the brand name of BEVZA stands ukrainian designer Svetlana Bevza. She successfully uses her talent and shows to speak out about serious issues. Last season’s New York Fashion Week was the very first one for Svetlana , so she made sure to debut her work with a serious message - talking about the war torn Ukraine.

NANUSHKA
Sandra Sandor is the woman standing behind this sustainably-minded brand. This year’s Fall 2018 New York Fashion Week was the first opportunity for Sandra to show her collection for such a mass of people. Reminding everyone of the importance of sustainability, Sandra presented her minimal, fabric and detail oriented collection.

REJINA PYO
Last season’s London Fashion Week was also the very first for this designer to show her what she has got. And let me tell you, people were not disappointed. Very straight, strict silhouettes and earthy tones combined with a mixture of flowy and heavy materials is what Rejina stands out for. She also presented her fall collection this LFW season prolonging the same main creative traits.

MARTA JAKUBOWSKI
Marta launched her label only in 2015, but has reached a lot since then. Her never ending improvising with color scheme and patterns is kind of a business card of this designer. Her recent collection on this season’s London Fashion Week is what 90’s dreams were made of - executive tailoring and tastefully oversized pieces.
