Five and a half hours later, and it is done! My back hurts from hunching over for so long, but I'm mostly happy with how it turned out! This will be part of my animatic that will (hopefully) come out sometime late summer/early fall, but no promises lol.

I'm sorry, I think I missed something. Why is serving your country a terrible thing? Those people are sacrificing their safety, time, and health, to defending the population. We wouldn't be here today without those men, women, and anything in between.

And what do you mean his "comments weren't unexpected" and hermitcraft "is in no way a safe space"? You don't even have to be on a side to recognize that this is complete bullcrap.

dont take this as me getting on a high horse about anything because obviously ive been in here with the rest of you all so when i say that the hermits collectively have a history of these kind of problems i have myself been letting it slide for the sake of my continued enjoyment. but we need to get real that skizz’s comments on trans people are in no way unexpected and that the hermitcraft community is in no way a safe space, for like, nearly anyone who isnt white impcore and tme. most of them are straight and cis, and theyre all white imperial core citizens! i can think of a hundred things theyve said in the past year alone that bely their privilege and their mundane prejudices. they’re casually misogynistic and casually transmisogynistic. most of them are never require to confront that human beings outside of america, canada, australia, and europe even exist. they would never say the word racism, at best because its too inflammatory. they make harry potter references all the time!!! multiple american hermits have family members in the military. THE AMERICAN MILITARY!!! they have a hundred different red flags if you care to look and if im being very honest if you’re only getting upset ab what skizz said now it’s because you’ve bought into their façade of progressiveness because they’ve paid lip service to gay and trans people. they have always been like this.

and skizz’s age has nothing to do with this. most younger americans are transphobic too. the actual reason is that skizz is a cishet suburbanite american who has never needed to take a political stance on anything in his life, and when doing the mental calculus decided that it was in his best material interest to make a lukewarm statement stance about freedom and good vibes over drawing a hard line against bigotry. “no politics just good times” is only a stance that the politically privileged can take.

Alice by PEGGY makes me think of DL!Pearl.

I'm interpreting this as she imagined Tilly's existence, which would've added to other people's perspective of thinking she's the crazy lady. Searching for even a single light of hope after the betrayal of her former allies, she turned to her little doggo, the wide-eyed, energetic, ball of fluff.

Everyone pitied her so much, that they never denied Tilly's existence, recognizing that the dog she believed in was the only thing holding together the little hope she had left. Treating her like when a child asks about Santa, they went along with it, hoping to not to upset her.

Summary:

Pearl loves Hungry Hermits, she's on the leader-board twice for a reason. But when she's already feeling down, the powdered snow might be too much of a reminder of a life gone by.

Remember when I said I was going to write a fic in this post? I did it!

It wasn’t even the first Hungry Hermits round of the day, that’s the thing. Her and Ren had just gotten through two rounds, in the first they hit Day 6 and in the second they were so close finishing Day 7. And it is her fault that they lost the last one, she sent off the wrong item with a customer and realized it a second too late. It was a stupid mistake, one she wouldn’t normally make but not world ending. If it was a good day, or even an okay day, it wouldn’t be a huge deal. 

The issue was that it wasn’t a good day or an okay day. It was a bad day already, Pearl had woken up and just felt fundamentally wrong in a way that didn’t necessarily need a specific reason. She’d been having fewer of them for a while, at least on Hermitcraft. It had been a couple of years since Double Life, the feelings dulled by time and by the natural distance that always happened when Pearl wasn’t actively in a game. And so bad days came less frequently, but no less intensely and today was one of the worst she’d had in months.

Pearl still has echoes of masochism even a few years after DL. Specifically when she goes to heights, gets frustrated, or touches something cold. Whenever she starts feeling that way, she goes to her base and layers herself under heated blankets until it passes. One time, she couldn't stop herself from having a panic attack while collecting ice for a build, and ended up with frostbite that didn't heal for weeks. From then on, she always took Skizz with her whenever she went anywhere below normal temps for more than a few minutes, because he wasn't in double life, and had never done her wrong. Skizz never asked for details, but he never hesitates when she asks.
