St. Hildegard of Bingen (1098–1179)💙
A mystic, composer, herbalist, and visionary, St. Hildegard of Bingen was a female legend of history!! She received divine visions from a very young age, & later recorded her revelations in texts and visionary art. She blended theology, cosmology, & natural healing into her writing.
She was a pioneer of sacred music and holistic medicine, and quite ahead of her time. She was canonized and later named a Doctor of the Church.

Bonjour everyone, it’s time for my claim for @aphabriefhistoryoftime! My claim was the German revolution 1848/1849, and instead of focusing solely on the bloodshed that came with it, I wanted to portray Prussia’s personal struggle some more and the hopes projected on him - which he would go on to not just disappoint but crush. So slightly more “abstract” approach that I took here.
The historic background is that in 1848, many German states had their own revolutions, including Prussia, in which the German people demanded a unified Germany. Chiefly among them was Baden which held out the longest with democratic demands alongside the national ones, but others were quite accepting of constitutional monarchy and looked towards Prussia as the leading force of this ‘Germany’. And for a moment it looked as though it could work–
but Prussia went back on concessions made towards its population and brutally beat back revolutions. Baden had to surrender in order to prevent a massacre at the hands of the Prussian military.
Baden’s design (the lady holding back Ludwig) is by @ask-baden, thank you so much as always for letting me use her design for this!
#woaa#big fan of all things that include germany being like a patchwork quilt of a country#frankenstein vibes. i like#hetalia#aph#others ocs#art

And here's the whole series. I'm kinda proud of myself - when they all put together I can see the amount of work - and I love my characters a lot. :) Now, I wonder, which one is your favorite? My personal favorite is 2nd - I think I did Lyra justice with those wings. Since this is gonna be a long post anyway, I'm gonna add a few sketches for some of them below.

Last one was an alternative variant for the 10th piece but I imagined that people would misinterpret it BAD so I decided to draw another one. I still like this sketch, however, maybe I'll finish it with lineart or sth like that. And another sketch also had Devil in it but since this piece was more focused on emptiness, I just erased him. Well now you know he was there. And about the knife... now you know who did that, too. After holidays I want to update my lore post a bit so stay tuned for that :]
#criminally obsessed w this#the colorsss the contrast. I'm floored im speechless#art#scrapbook#others ocs#fav
