I Feel as if I'm on the Titanic.

The "iceberg" being school, there is no way I'm completing Daisy Tinted Bones before school arrives and I've somewhat come to terms with that. The creative process, at least for me, is draining. Although, I have the bad habit of being lazy, apologies for that.

I'm a quarter of the way done with chapter 3 and this chapter will heavily involve the "Psychological Horror" tag, my favorite kind of Horror. Writing Ink in a protagonist role is a large order but I think I'm going about it well. Lim's 'character' isn't being as explored in the beginning, to be completely honest I'm having trouble with him. He's more of a Force of Nature then an actual character, he's a symbolic character for sure. I still love him, he's like a fruit basket of different perspectives and ideals. Serenityeverything on Instagram is still making designs/outfits for Lim, stay around for that.

FIRST TWO CHAPTERS ARE OUT.

There not much, just a short introduction so you can understand the vibe I'm going for. I wanted to get SOMETHING out before the month ended and I hope this is enough.

LIM!SANS Info Dump.

Lim!Sans (Liminal, yes I know the word is overused still I like the sound of Lim, it fits) is a Sans disconnected from the main Multiverse and lives and protects the Backrooms. I know it sounds odd, just hear me out and read all the way through.

-OFFICIAL DESIGN-

The following goes over how his outfits/body functions and relate to the environment. This will dip slightly into his backstory, skip ahead to view that.

Outfit Variety: His outfit changes whenever he enters a new Level of the Backrooms. Matching the scenery, colors, and vibe of his surroundings. His eyes change in color and in shape, however the shape doesn't quite matter.

Function: The rooms themselves channel into Lim, treating him as a vessel or converter. The rooms don't control him, merely charge him up with the emotions the room provides to others. This varies from level to level, however there is almost always one common denominator. Nostalgia and abandonment.

There are A LOT of levels to the Backrooms, and my wonderful friend cannot design an outfit for all of them. If the level does not have a official design it's up to interpretation! I personally use the Backrooms wikidot for my basis.

Another small fact: That 'paint' dripping down his skull has a source. During his first few travels through the Backrooms, he had a nasty fall. Thick black liquid bled from a formed crack on the top of his skull and now it stains the top right of his head. When becoming uncomfortable in a situation, the oil begins to seep out again.

-PERSONALITY(S)-

One of the big things with Lim is that his personality changes rapidly through level to level, when writing I based him mildly off characters like Ena or the Princess from Slay The Princess (The Shifting Mound, whatever you want to call her) but whenever Lim interacts with others he prefers to have the emotions linked to Level 0: The Lobby/ The Tutorial Level, so I will be focusing on that part of him.

One of the big differences from Ink is that Lim is more quiet, still just as passionate, although showing that passion is something he isn't entirely comfortable of doing.

He is at his peak whenever he is in the Backrooms. He can leave, he prefers not to but if there was some reason, he'd be willing too. When he leaves, he looses almost all his power, relying heavily on his grappling hooks if a battle were to happen... even then, he gets all his moves from an arcade machine character, he has no idea how to fight. One of his blaring weaknesses is his lack of combat awareness.

Insanely patient. To an absurd level. Often he creeps others out by his blank stare and flat smile, when in reality he's very focused on soaking in the information like a sponge.

If he was in a social situation, in a group, he'd quickly become overwhelmed as hell, becoming non-verbal and just existing. Still listening and viewing, but completely quiet and still sporting that lifeless smile.

Hobby wise, he loves to travel, which living in the Backrooms allows him to sight see infinitely. As well, watching old movies, listening to old music, enjoying vintage activities of all sorts. Behind closed doors he does partake in the... 'mary jane'. Not proud of it by any means.

He doesn't get out much.

He's not a bad guy. A well-meaning guy shoved into a morally bad role. He tries his best to do good where and when he can. But he still has a job to sustain.

-BACKSTORY & LORE-

I assume you've been in this fandom long enough to know the story. A forgotten, unfinished, soulless skeleton left alone for a creator to come out of the blue and inspire him. Except this variant had no such luck. No creator inspired him. No paint dripped down and gave him life. Just like countless others, he was abandoned. So, a different fandom adopted him. He no longer considers himself apart of the Undertale AU Fandom, even if he technically is.

He holds no grudge against the fandom, however he doesn't promote it either.

Role: Caretaker/Protector/Enjoyer of the Backrooms. He abides and enforces the rules of the Backrooms, whoever clips into the Backrooms can't leave. Lim tries his best to make the victims comfortable in their new home, though his attempts fail.

Under all his clothing, tattoos line each of his bones. I'm sure you can guess, that ugly wallpaper pattern slathered across every inch of him.

He gets his emotions from the levels of the Backrooms, each level giving him a small list of emotions. The atmosphere and vibe of the level consuming him entirely and showing itself through him. Unlike Ink, he cannot mix emotions like Ink with his paints. His clothing also adapt to the surrounds of each level.

He is an embodiment of abandonment. Does he like this role? What do you think. Although, in a lot of cases abandonment can lead to better things. Abandoning a project simply due to losing interest is apart of the creative journey, it's not all bad, Lim promises that.

Just like Ink, he also views other people as mere characters or concepts. Though, he doesn't speak his opinion on the matter. It's none of his business anyways.

Whenever he needs a break, he goes to Level 974: Kitty's House. He considers the level a home within a home, he's even set up his own dimly lit room. Just a note, the entity known as "Kitty" is also here, and Lim considers it a close friend. This is one of the few exception I have for Entities.

Birthday? May 12, same day of the original 4chan post that created the Backrooms.

Lim can travel in and out of the Backrooms as he wishes, however only a handful of other Undertale AU characters can. Error, Player!Frisk, and other out!code type characters can enter, with difficulty.

He owns a rusty red pickup truck. The trucks name is Shelly.

-ABILITIES-

"Level Manipulation" A ability to manipulate his surrounds, changing the layout of the Level, summoning anything to throw his opponent off. If I had to compare this ability to anything I'd compare it to Overhaul's power..... I hate to mention mha, but I can't think of any other comparison atm. I haven't slept and running on 1 Redbull, I'm SORRY.

His tactics switch constantly from level to level but he relies heavily on his magic manipulation abilities. Catch him outside of the Backrooms he'll be a way easier target.

Body manipulation: This ability works in and out of the Backrooms. He has a habit of manipulating his body to act more bug-like. A few examples being: Moth wings, turning his rib cage into extra legs, arms, or beartrap-like. Praying mantis claws, and sharp tongue he uses like a mosquitoes, etc. He relies on this ability and his grappling hooks outside of the Backrooms. However, still very unskilled in actual combat techniques.

Summoning Zooliminology creatures: I do not believe in "BIG SCARY MONSTER IN BACKROOMS" because that defeats the purpose....... But, I love the Zooliminology creatures so much I have to include them. Lim has a good relationship with the creatures however when he calls for their help they don't always do what he intends... Though, the Sockwyrms and Light Mimics do help a lot in battle, still he rarely calls for them. (Please go check out Zooliminology, IT'S GREAT)

As mentioned whenever not in the Backrooms, Lim becomes significantly more weaker and vulnerable. If an opponent can manage to remove him from the Backrooms, they can surely win.

-ADDITIONAL DESIGNS-

Some final thoughts, yes you can draw, use, roleplay, do whatever you want with Lim. NOTHING PROBLEMATIC OBVIOUSLY, DON'T BE WEIRD.
