honestly I wish wyngro would come back. Being duped by other similar groups that popped up after and didn't last nearly as long just to profit from wyngro's success is kind of shameful and I wish we could just go back to what we had. but I know it's too late.

I hope the former owner of wyngro is doing better these days. Despite everything, I really did like their lore and I appreciate them for creating something I still look back on with fond memories.

revisiting wyngro is so bittersweet and conflicting for me. I still have nostalgia for it and I remember how excited I was about it, and what an all-time high my art motivation was at. Even if my 'gros and their stories were honestly pretty cringe lol. Remembering the drama and the frustration hurts, and. And also the fact that I can't help but heavily associate the group with an ex-friend who was fairly popular in it who went on to hurt me quite badly (no fault of the group, but they had also been the one to introduce me to it). One day I wanna redraw my 'gros all again, maybe with all the upgrades I've always wanted to get for them, once I get over myself. Sometimes I feel like I don't deserve to, since I did stir up some drama myself over me not being credited for a design that was used by the group. Even after everything, I miss it and wish I hadn't made trouble for myself out of emotions, tainting the memory of it for myself. It really was a fun, special thing with a spark that no other group could quite replicate, imo.

@ anon that re-drew their gros looking like how they've always wanted, that's awesome, I'm so happy that that was healing for you :> and I also relate. I'm bringing back my gros in another form as well and am actually in the process of making a comic starring them! They look totally different now and I do sometimes miss their old Wyngro storylines but at their cores they're still the same characters, and it's been so nice to see them again

I know a lot of people were uncomfortable with it, but I always really appreciate Wyngro giving the more mature members some fun mature lore while keeping it well hidden from public eyes unless they were looking for it. It just made things interesting and was fun to chat about.

Can confirm that page existed. It was talked about in the 18+ channel all the time. It had detailed drawings of genitalia and everything. It was interesting and had a lot of detailed lore linked to it, but it really shouldn't have existed given the average age demographic of the of members.

This is gonna sound so weird lol, but I gotta know if anybody else remembers this because it's been driving me nuts. Does anybody else recall that one secret hidden page on the website that was password locked and it was just detailed images of wyngro breeding and the "intimate" mechanics of it? I stg I saw it once, but I need to know I'm not crazy lol.

That definitely existed. I believe it was never made public— just created and shared between staff and friends until it was leaked.

Today, I sat down, looked through my old Wyngro art, and just drew my characters for the first time in years. I drew them how I always wanted them to look, but was never able to, because I simply couldn't afford it. Every upgrade, color, and choice that was robbed from me put to my tablet, and it felt good, really good. Like I was able to free myself from a lot of the regrets and salt that I harbored for the group and were poisoning me. I feel like I've been able to put a part of my past to rest and it's a good feeling, especially now that I'm in a place where I'm happy with my art and can finally bring my ideas to life in a way that feels right.

It also made me kinda sad, I really wish Wyngro as a whole could have gone differently.

I know a lot of people hated wyngro for "art burnout", but I gained a lot of experience in a short amount of time, drew so many things I'm still proud of.... and I just don't draw anymore. I miss having a community that did that. There hasn't been one since.

been debating sending smth but ig the worst that'll happen is it won't get posted. back when the group was at it's peak i remember being aware of some drama but i always avoided it bc confrontation scary. last night i decided 'fuck it, i wanna know what happened' and. it's kind of sad. when i was at my highest activity with this group it was probably the most i had drawn ever. i remember filling up pages of sketches when i was in school. i kinda lost that spark. i wish i could get it back.

Chiming in bc things got sent to me. Not aiming to stir the pot.

There is a journal I remembering working on about how all staff art from a certain point onwards was relinquished to Owner from around the first staff departure. So anything /past/ that point should be a-ok for a fangroup to use.

I’d like to also formally give permission for anything I drew to be used anywhere as people like, go for it.

In addition, all the old wyngro upgrade drawings were published when that mod left the group and they gave permission for all those to be used. Please free to message me for links to those images if you would like.

The ex mod posted a comment publicly to the Mystica page where they explain why they did what they did. What the Mystica mods are not understanding in their follow up posts is that the original group owner's permission doesn't trump the permission of the other mods. The ex-mod in question pointed out that they didn't consent to their artwork being used by anyone who wasn't the original owner. The DMCA claim was not filed illegally, the original artists are well within their right to have filed.

Shot in the dark but it's worth a shot... Hi, I'm one of the people behind Town of Mystica. We were recently contacted by an ex-wyngro mod and asked to shut down our fan revival. We were given permission to run the group by the original owner and we do plan on replacing everything with our own artwork. But it's a lot. Me and Bunny are disabled and currently can't edit the website due to personal issues that involve money and housing, but rest assured we will never ask for money 1/2

Our fan-revival is for fun and is meant for those who either wanted to join but missed out or miss wyngro. We are doing our best respect both the ex-mods and [Owner], but we hope that shutting down is not our only way... Please let us run peacefully and we promise you that all artwork will be replaced in due time.

I just wanted to say thank you for your work for all these years. They won't go unnoticed, and they gave us a safe place to criticize something that would have punished us unfairly. I think I'm finally going to move on, not worry about the past. It was fun, and I hope everyone has a good one.
