so today while scrolling on twitter I found this post

and a lot of people were replying with different characters that they thought of, and someone brought up Odalia from toh. of course people thought it was funny and accurate but tbh I don't think Odalia would have the capability of even being bigoted cause does homophobia even exist in the demon realm??? we see several times characters be very fluid with their gender and sexuality, one of the government officials is literally a nonbinary person, even bullies like Boscha are implied to like girls as shown with her obsession with Amity, and she doesnt make fun of Amity for being gay but instead because she hangs out with the losers of the school. we don't even see things like racism or sexism be presented in the demon realm, at least not that I can remember (not including poor treatment of poc from the writers). from what we see the main issue in the story is classism and a little bit speciesism (??) from the witches who make fun of luz for being a human. people also brought up the fact that Belos uses Raines they/them pronouns, but I feel like thats more him conforming to the society and still hating it secretly and less him being "accepting". like lets be real he's probably still homophobic and the demon realm being okay with gay people most likely adds to his hatred of them, but it'd probably be more weird for him to be outwardly homophobic than if he just conformed to the demon realm. BUT YEA IDK tell me your top 5 favorite homophobic moments in the owl house and I'll reconsider if the demon realm is homophobia or not

Back on my bullshit

so I replayed portal 1 and watch jacksepticeye play portal 2 and desk job, and now I'm my mind is brewing with too many thoughts about if there were more human to core victims, if glados could be considered a corrupt core, and how British is wheatley? I know I sound insane, it's just gonna get worse !!

(also spoilers for blue sky but also its about a decade old I think so get on it ASAP!!)

so this all started with me talking to my girlfriend about rain boots (or as she calls them wellies, she is very British) and it reminded me of when in blue sky, wheatley often refers to Ellie as "the girl with the wellies" and that made me wonder, HOW BRITISH IS WHEATLEY?? thinking back in the game I don't remember him saying or doing anything that was super British, except for having a British accent of course, but also how does he have a British accent?? within the story of blue sky it makes sense for him to be British and use British slang, because he was originally a British person turned into a core, but why is he British in the canon?? it makes sense that the other cores have American accents because aperture is based in America but were they just bored with wheatley? was he programmed to be British on purpose? or is it possible that wheatley was British human and turned into a core like glados?

but also wheatley acts similarly to the corrupted cores, which I guess is on purpose because he was meant to slow down glados, but if wheatley hypothetically was a human turned into a core could that mean the corrupted cores were originally human too? because the cores from the first game they work the way they're supposed to because they were programmed to and they didn't come from a human, but while the corrupt cores generally still focus on what they were programmed for they still act differently from the other cores and act more human. similarly, glados does generally work the way she's supposed to but she still rebels and attacks the scientist at aperture. I feel like its possibly because bits of her humanity are trying to go against her programming to give her more autonomy and make her more human. she acts like a corrupt core in the sense that she's mainly staying with her programming but still trying and just do her own thing and trying to have her own autonomy, so could the same be applied with the other corrupt cores? (with the exception of the fact core he might actually just be a corrupt core 💀)

MAYBE I'M LOOKING TO DEEP INTO IT MAYBE ITS A BIT MUCH TO ACCUSE EVERY OF ONCE BEING HUMAN but idk!! I think its fun to think about why all the cores act the way they do and if there's a connection between any of them that isn't surface level
