Discrimination, Genocide, Rape and murder, Threatened lives and now Mother Nature poses another deadly challenge for the Rohingyas. We do not believe that their camps are strong enough to withstand the incoming cyclonic storms and monsoons. Not just that, but Cox Bazaar, where the refugee camps are, have one of the highest rainfall totals in the country.
So what are you waiting for? We need to help them now. We need to protect them now. We need to act now.

In relation to the previous post :)
We feel the same way: Triggered by the fact that the countries are supporting such evil acts.

Myanmar has strong supporters: India and China. No wonder they aren’t doing anything about the Rohingyas after UN told them to. Sure, India and China have their own reasons for supporting Myanmar but that doesn’t right the fact that they are supporting a textbook example of racial cleansing. No, at this point, it is too large a situation for it to be called a textbook example. It is a world record to be written down in History.

Outrageous. Despicable. Atrocious.
Children at their prime ages are being taken into the world of prostitution because they were threatened or because they needed to provide for their family.
They came to Bangladesh to be free from the genocides but there, they face even worse problems.
There truly isn’t a safe place for them anywhere.

In relation to the previous post, I think this website proves it.
Myanmar government spokesman Zaw Htay blocked the UN from an independent fact-finding mission, saying that “We don’t accept it because making prejudgments is unethical”.
He also accused Lee Yanghee of making “biased, one-sided, and unfair accusations against Myanmar” because of her nomination that is supported by other countries which expect her to demonstrate impartial cooperation. However, Lee Yanghee is a woman independent from any government or organization and serves in her individual capacity.
To read more about what happened, do check out the website in the link above.

This is the webpage of UNCHR, also known as the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. It is a global organisation whose goal is to protecting the rights and lives of refugees. However, it is only one of the few organisations who are actually aiding in the Rohingya Crisis, and they are in need of more funding.
They provide desperately needed resources and improve healthcare and sanitary conditions for the refugees, for example last December they provided blankets and shawls to the refugees.
Please do visit their website to learn more about the crisis and if you would like to help you can donate to the organisation.

Many female Rohingya refugees are reported to have been raped by military officiers. This video talks about how Noor, a Rohingya refugee, and several other girls were taken away from their village. They were victims of violent gang rape with some girls having suffered from internal bleeding and extreme pains. Some of the victims even turned out to be pregnant after the raping. The sickening part is that most of these girls who were raped were around the ages of 18 years old. In addition, abortion is illegal in Bangladesh, so these girls have to live the rest of their lives with the additional burden of a child at a raw young age. These poor girls have to deal with the everyday fear of being a victim to raping on top of other problems. Most of these girls also succumb to the feeling of shame and violation after the raping and can cause extreme trauma and insecurity for the rest of their lives. This issue HAS to be put to a stop.

This is just a fraction of the number of Rohingya Refugees that have crossed the border to stay in the Refugee Camps in Bangladesh. Genocides and nightmares aren’t the only things haunting them, pollution, disease and possible illness from the contamination of water may pose harmful threats to them. Infections in their wounds can also prove fatal to their health.
The military is making them suffer in the worst way possible.

We feel angered, sad and disappointed in the ignorance of the officials and those in power because they clearly aren't doing anything to help the Rohingyas. The treaty that they signed was a fluke. The Rohingyas don't deserve this sort of treatment. How far is Myanmar going to fall in the depths of hell?

Food for thought
To be honest, we believe that the Myanmar government cannot do anything because it is the military who is carrying out the genocides. The government cannot go against them either because they might overthrow them or even be assassinated. The military is a power to be respected because it holds tremendous control over the country's defense.
Compare it to Germany after World War 1. The military felt like they were "stabbed in the back" after the democratic government signed the Treaty of Versailles. They started political murders and we can see from there that the government no longer had control over the country. This might be something the Myanmar government probably fear would happen should they go against the military.
But honestly, as much as you don’t want to be overthrown, you should also be a decent human being right? How can you let this atrocity happen right underneath your nose if you fully have the ability to stop it?
We're not Buzzfeed Unsolved but we can definitely solve the mystery of why the Myanmar government is not doing anything. They are being cowards.
*sigh* Politicians.

Why this? What’s so terrible about this crisis anyway?
I know what you are thinking:
“Oh look. Another campaign about another human rights crisis. Wow.”
And then you give it a like, a share and look away, and forget about it.
Well. if you are one of those people, let me tell you something about this crisis. Why this is worth your time and attention to seriously advocate and spread.
Firstly, the Rohingya are deprived of the most basic rights in the Geneva conference. They can’t move freely at their will. They can’t get an education. They can’t even get citizenship despite their ancestors settling the land for centuries. Sense the injustice yet?
It gets worse. After some armed Rohingya militants attacked the local police posts, the Myanmar government ordered a crackdown on the region. You may be wondering “Yeahhh... but it technically is their fault...” but you don’t know what the government actually did in the crackdown. Oh did they go overboard.
They claim they have killed 400 militants, but UN estimates the number is over a thousand. A thousand. In barely the first month. And not just that. As seen in our previous posts, rapes, deaths destruction to their property, the cases are in the hundreds, even thousands. Tell me again, for a small uprising, from a small group of people, that its justified to do this to an entire population of people?
And we’ve barely scratched the surface. There more statistics that shows the utter racism and unjustified violence, more data that will send one into shock for the blatant oppression they face. And now look at why we are advocating this conflict again.
Does the world really think it can overlook the most glaring case of textbook ethnic cleansing anymore?

We believe that to help the Rohingyas, the first thing we need to help them find is a home, safe and sound from violence attacking them from all directions. We believe that donations for them to buy food and water and basic necessities is not enough. They need a roof above their heads so that they can feel safe and peaceful in a country where the military will not come to burn their houses down. So we believe that the first thing we should do is to help them find a home in another country that is willing to protect them and help them. Think about it: What purpose does the food and water serve if they die the next day?

Aung San Suu Kyi says the violence will once again occur and not just once, but repeatedly, as denoted by the word 'recur'. If she is saying such a thing, why would the Rohingyas feel safe to return to their "homes"?

Myanmar is pushing down the Rohingyas and suppressing and killing them. Yet, no one is trying to really stop them completely. Even the other neighbouring countries are ping-pong-balling them away from their land. Yes, the UN Refugee Agency is helping them find places in camps in Bangladesh but Bangladesh does not really want them to. So where will they go? We should step up and take action now. Let's open that turned blind eye towards the situation and suggest something that our own countries can help in. Photo credits: http://www.asianreporter.com/cartoon.htm

Repatriation of Refugees
In Dec 2017, Bangladeshi officials announced that 100000 names of Rohingya refugees were sent to Myanmar for the first round of repatriation but Myanmar did not publicly endorse the list or even confirm it has received the names until March 2018 when Myanmar verified only 374 refugees to come back whenever they like.
Myanmar still has yet to confirm whether the rest of the refugees had previously lived in the country, blaming it on the Bangladeshi officials for not providing enough information on them. Due to this, the Bangladeshi officials have expressed their doubts about Myanmar's willingness to take back the Rohingya refugees.
However, the Rohingyas have suffered so much under the genocides where their houses were torched and burnt to the ground. It is no wonder that they have not confirmed their return to Myanmar because they refuse to go back to a land where every day is full of danger and destruction.
