Controversial, but I think Chip suffers a lot from woobification/infantilization by the fandom. Chip is a capitalist in his 40s bare minimum with the job of cutting out slacking workers. He's traumatized by the Override (why he apologizes. why he doesn't want to fight. because that thing takes all his bodily autonomy away.) and frankly, it's weird that people look at him having clear anger issues in multiple areas and say it's "weird" for a character they see as neurodivergent to be an asshole. Stop infantilizing traumatized neurodivergent people, sometimes they aren't your squeaky clean "cute poor soggy wet babygirl who'd do no harm", sometimes they're an asshole. Chip doesn't like violence, but he's no pacifist. Why would he lead the Deforester Force proudly, forcing toons out of their homes if he was? And furthermore- why do his employees canonically hate him so much? The Override triggers with his anger, but even still- the Yesman at the end of the fight (as well as the cipher hatemail) definitely is insinuating more with the "you don't know what it's like to work under that suit".

You can still make cute art with Chip, but don't say it's "weird" when other people portray him as an asshole who's difficult to deal with. People with trauma have different responses to said trauma.
