They say that when they burned the Library of Alexandria

The crowd cheered out in terrible joy

And all of the knowledge it contained, villainized

By those who had never before stepped foot within its walls

When Germany started burning books

The citizens eagerly lit the match

Having been taught that the books were a threat

Despite being just words on a page

Today, the Library of Alexandria is seen as a warning,

That war is not the only way a civilization can be destroyed.

Today, the burning of books is seen as a symbol

Of the loss of freedom, of censorship, of suppression.

Why is it then, that books are still being banned today

In a country that prides itself on its freedoms?

That the book which warns against the dangers of censorship

Is itself banned in many places

Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it

But how can we learn from a history that we aren't taught?

You cannot expect us to achieve greatness when you ban our foundation.

When you burn its foundation, the entire house burns with it.

To those who say that banning books is not the same as burning them,

“you don't have to burn books to destroy a culture,

Just get people to stop reading them.”

Artfight is almost here again guys!

Set a reasonable goal based on the amount of time you have to draw. You might want to do a full body for 30 different characters, but if you overwork yourself, you'll burn out too early. Don't put too much pressure on yourself. Art fight is supposed to be fun!

I just signed up to Artfight. I have no clue what’s going to happen XD

(Please tell me any tips, not about drawing but artfight in general, I’m a newbie :) )

I've been doing art fight for only three years, but I feel like I've become more comfortable drawing new characters already! I love artfight! It gives me a chance to get out of my comfort zone of the same 6 characters!
