A LETTER FROM @miscelliany​​​ ARRIVES CONERNING THE META :     META   +   the feywild :   how it looks,  its rules,  its denizens !!

in regards to appearances and creatures,  honestly it looks like any other art of the feywild tbh!     very forest-y,  very whimsical,  very high peak fantasy,  you know?     if you google creatures in the feywild,  they’re most likely here too.     in the game,  some of the individuals are described as shapeshifters,  some with dragonfly wings,  some made out entirely of wood,  some as one inch hobgoblins.     it was never really specific of what they are but the possibilities are endless!

general rules and etiquette for the feywild :     there’s a lot   ...   but it’s because it varies between parts of the feywild and individuals and a lot of them are be careful or don’t do this.     so like don’t give a fey your true name,  don’t accept food or gifts,  don’t say thank you,  be careful when making a deal in the feywild because they are binding,  etc.     it’s a lot of tread carefully lmfao but this is all for non-fey creatures like humans interacting with other beings in the feywild.

these are more faerie-centric   (  the setting the series takes place )   answers :

for context :     i would LOVE to think there is a part of the feywild,  that's just stuck in this regency era,  which is FAERIE.     what i mean is that one regency-era human came to the feywild via portal,  one of the faerie citizens saw this and learned more about thetime period and culture,  and they told their fey friends and now,  faerie has just been so fucking fascinated with this human     /     mortal custom hundreds of years later that it just stayed around.

some background for the courts  (  antigone's version  ) :     canonically,  hundreds of generations ago, the courts were made to bolster the fey and make them stronger.     i’d like to think,  going off of the canon(?) story of the feywild,  there used to be only the seelie and unseelie courts then something happened in which some fey didn’t feel like they belong to either of those courts and so they created their own courts and houses.     this led to some skirmishes and war between them.     so in order to quell tensions, some of the fey host celebrations and parties to have some semblance of peace between groups or to interact with one another and spark some partnership.     so things like the bloom became big for the groups to come together and celebrate the magic   ...

each court in faerie have a set of their own customs and rules, but in general for the courts :     you can only be true to one court   (   see :   this was defied by andhera being loyal to the unseelie court and court of craft  ),  otherwise,  if you wish to be wed, you can leave your court to join another  ;  and you can change courts within reason   (  see :   wuvvy going from court of hoof and claw to court of wonders for rue  ).

A LETTER FROM @miscelliany​​​ ARRIVES CONERNING THE META :     META   +   relationship with squawk.     what are the best parts?     the worst?     how has it developed over their lives?

i don't know what happened to both of their parents that made their grandfather their caretaker   (  maybe their parents were booted from the nest  )   ...   but it’s undeniable that squak and chirp grew up together for the majority of their lives so their bond has been relatively the same,  dare i say,  grown even stronger over the years!     chirp doesn't see any worse part to him nor their relationship   ;   she loves and cares about him so much.     if he's in a pickle,  she is willing to join him in that pickle or,  at least,  help him out of it by giving him input if he so asks.     chirp thinks everything is the best part— THEY ARE ALWAYS THERE FOR EACH OTHER.     they trust each other a lot and can easily forgive each other with almost anything   (  re :   squak confessing he's engaged and wanting to call it off and chirp confessing about how she is married with a wife and kid   /   re :     " you can do no wrong in my eyes "   " neither you "  ).     plus,  they love inflicting chaos together.

HUMANS ARE WEIRD.     they want to fly so they created planes,  hang gliders,  and hot air balloons and yet they feel sick to their stomach when they do   ...   this is the umpteenth attempt now that the couple had to stop before feet even lift from the ground,  much to @willowdied​'s insistence that is.     the countess appeared to her girlfriend flying and of course,  she pleaded to try it out.     but now,  chirp refuses to lay a single hand on the woman as lips purse into a thin line,  unconvinced.     “   i can't have a   '  FEEL LIKE.  '     I NEED CERTAINTY.     I NEED CONVICTION.     i need to know that you will not puke when i lift you off the ground!     ...     i mean it will be fun for me to watch but will certainly not be fun for you or the person caught in the crossfire.   ”

although birds gracefully soar through the lavishly decorated halls,  their obnoxious chatter drops like rocks on the crowd,  more so anyone in proximity,  proclaiming exciting news.     well,  at least to chirp,  this is all too exciting.     for some time,  the talk surrounding her cousin’s pen name and his book were coming to a steep decline and while she knows there will come a time when the public would not be so keen about old news   ...   SHE CARES ABOUT HIM AND HIS NAME BEING IN THE MOUTHS OF ANYONE AND EVERYONE.

“   what are you smiling at?   ”     asks a curious @lastofcraft,  watching as the lady’s crimson eyes stare at her familiars.     an unknowing smile on the countess's face.

chirp is thankful that her cousin decided to be out in the open about being THE AIRY PEARRY to their small collective.     now,  she does not need to try so hard to keeps things a secret and maintain her composure,  though there is still the public to keep in mind.     “   have you heard?   THE GREEN HUNTER  is getting a spin - off series.   ”

the lady smiles, she nods and she moves closer to the countess. “ of course! do you paint?” her head tilted to the side, eager and excitable. “ i could also absolutely commission something for you if you would like? no charge! ”

“   i do not.   ”     lips,  in a thin line,  morph into a side smile as she shakes her head.     chirp dabbles a bit in the art——   the art of forgery and magical fabrications,  but that is what people,  so she heard,  would hardly call   “  ART.  ” 

“   a free of charge commission?!   ”     she echoes.     chirp heard her the first time but she acts dumbfounded,  as if the extremely unecessary generosity takes her by surprised.     partially,  she is.     but she repeats the sentiment,  waiting to see if her companion would take back her words,  a confirmation that it truly  IS  free.     “   OH,  YOU MUSTN’T—   ”

this is an interesting one i never gave too much thought about!     cluckingham is said to known for lying,  espionage,  intelligence gathering,  etc.  and i do like to think,  while she does look after the inhabitants,  doing her civic duties,  she also has a hand in keeping up their,  essentially,  spy-like reputation.     maybe like opening a school for it   ...   which i think would be very fun because rogues are very good for stealth and sneakery   (  literally spy shit  )   but chirp isn’t a rogue–   she’s a full on wizard.     so it’s kind of an opportunity to pave that way for other non-rogues to engage in an operation like that.

A LETTER FROM @miscelliany​​​​ ARRIVES CONERNING THE META :     META   +   does chirp have any major regrets?     any chaos she wish she wouldn’t have caused?     why or why not?

absolutely not!     at least nothing big and life - changing.     most of her regrets are something small and temporary like  “ i should've messed around with this spell or this person instead. ”     chirp loves to have some fun   ;   she likes to live in the moment.     what's the point of worrying?     if there was a problem that arises from her actions,  she'll cross the bridge when she gets there.

though there was a point in time during her little hiatus,  from visiting the material plane,  that she was second guessing herself and her potential wife.     eventually that was slammed shut.
