She nodded.  “In that case, one more piece of advice - stay on Coulson and May’s good sides.”  Tilting her head, she considered for a long moment.  “There are others, of course, but believe me when I say that you don’t want those two unhappy with you.”

“I will be sure to keep that in mind, thank you very much,” River stated with a soft smile. “I’m hoping that the usual flying under the radar and being polite at all times routine will help out in that case. But yeah, I will definitely be careful with who I pull pranks on. You know, if I ever start pulling them.”

“I like your attitude,” Kim chuckled, a light teasing note in her voice.  She nodded.  “One thing to remember while your thinking it over - being an agent means you get sent where SHIELD thinks they need you.”  One eyebrow lifted in emphasis.  “And it may not always be where you think you need to go.”

“Thank you very much. I like your attitude too,” River answered before giving a slight nod in oder to confirm he’d do his best to remember. “And thanks again for the info. Honestly though, I’ll be happy either way. Whether I’m in SHIELD or working on my own because it’ll be nice to make a difference.”

“Which means you fit in perfectly around here.”  She tilted her head.  “That’s an interesting way to put it.  “Are you looking to become an agent or something else?”

“Good, that’s what I was aiming for,” the 17 year old answered then took a moment to think about it. “Honestly, I’m just hoping to be a hero in anyway possible. Whether it be as an agent or embrace all the bells and whistles being a superhero would bring.”

“You do know, if you try and keep an eye on everyone on this campus, you’re going to go from exasperated to full on crazy, right?” she chuckled.  “Besides, I’ve already got a keeper.”

“Please, full on crazy is my middle name,” River joked with a laugh of his own before giving a small nod of approval. “Still, the strength of the wolf is the pack and vice versa or however the saying goes.”

If Sleipnir thought Asgard was a weird place (and he did), Midgard took the cake on that opinion. Between their style of clothing to the vast difference in opinion between everyone. It was only his third day here and he was already getting a migraine.

He’d planned to make himself a get-away. He was stuck here to learn for now, so he needed a place to escape. Somewhere he could get away from it all. Turn into his natural form, if need be. A humanoid’s body was awkward and lanky, after all.

While building his stable from wood he’d tripped from the odd chair-like plates scattered across campus, he was interrupted by a trespasser. Pausing in his hammering, he turned to eye the other, narrowing his eyes. “It’s rude to stare.”

“Sorry,” River hastily apologized. Truthfully, he’d just been out for a short walk around campus for the purpose of expelling energy when some hammering had caught his attention. Within a few minutes, he’d happened upon the source and it was an interesting one to say the very least. His attention then focused on the person who’d spoken to him.

“I gotta say though, it’s nice handiwork,” he complimented in the hopes it might make things less awkward. On second thought, it might have made the situation a thousand times worse, but then again there was a saying about never knowing until you tried. So, the werewolf just donned a kindhearted sort of smile in the hopes that might help the case.

“Uh, Thank you. Mr Stark did give me a map but well. I am not used to this realm.” Magni noted as he looked at the other male. A human no less. Seeing the hand held out Magni grabbed it by the forearm in a warrior like greeting. “Magni of Jotunheim.” He spoke with a nod.

“You’re welcome and yeah, an unfamiliarity with the area can also do the trick,” River responded as he took a moment to glance around at their surroundings as well as figure the quickest path. “Quick question though, which year are you in? Because that would be the easiest way to figure out the floor you’re on. But if you identify as male or male-aligning, you’re in the Stark building.”

As he donned a jokingly serious look, River shook his head with a sigh. “And people wonder why I look like the typical exasperated teenager. It’s because I’m trying to keep an eye on everyone.”

Midgard was all new to Magni. He was so accustomed to the coldness of jotunheim that the warmth was actually a little overwhelming for the Half frost giant.

Fanning himself using the papers he received from the vice director of the school The boy was becoming more lost by the moment in the heat of the Summer day. The boy had ended up travelling the complete opposite direction to where he was needed to go and just continued to wander until he found someone else. Hopefully someone with more knowledge than him. Walking up to the stranger the demi god cleared his throat. “Excuse me you can’t help me can you? I have lost my way to the place called the Dormitories”

River, admittedly, wasn’t doing too well in the heat himself. It was why he’d taken up a temporary seat under a tree with a bag full of water bottles at his side while he caught up on his reading list. Werewolf physiology had plenty of perks on paper, but none of those compared to the downside that was a constantly raised temperature.

Someone’s voice made him look up from the list of books that he’d been checking off as well as adding to. “The dorms, huh? Yeah, I can help you find them. Honestly though, I should leave a suggestion somewhere that this campus needs to install places to get maps. Then again, those can stir up a completely different form of confusion, so probably for the best if I just keep it to myself.”

He stood up, gathering the bag and making sure nothing was being forgotten when something dawned on him. “Sorry, completely forgot to introduce myself. I’m River Wilson, nice to meet you,” he greeted as he held out a hand for a friendly shake.

Haven arched a brow at River’s words, wondering if he should be concerned about that sort of philosophy. “Even if everyone learned from history, it doesn’t mean that everyone learned the same lesson,” he replied before tilting his head in curiosity. “Do you like history? Or do your interests lie elsewhere?”

“That’s true. We can all take away something different from every lesson that we’re taught, no matter what the subject. Someone might learn to not make the same mistake twice while another might learn to plan ahead,” River agreed. “My interests are honestly all over the place and change from day to day. Think it’s a teenager thing.”

“Oh, trust me, give me enough free time and I will find a way to get into trouble. Ask anyone who knows me.”

“Or we could quit while we’re ahead and enjoy the serenity of summer. But something tells me you’re right about finding a way to stir up trouble.”

Kyana sat up as she heard a person enter the room — their room, or at least she assumed it was theirs. “Before you accuse me of breaking and entering, the door was open.” She started, leaving little time for them to get a word in.

“Okay, well I’m going to let that serve as a note to lock my door from now on,” River answered as he placed his duffel bag that contained his training essentials next to the door. “In all seriousness though, is my bed comfy?”

Howard: So I can put together a robot, but I struggle with flat pack furniture?

Howard: HELP!

River: When in doubt, search for instructions.

River: YouTube tutorials might also come in handy.

River: If you've already exhausted those options, then maybe text or call around? See if anybody you know can lend a hand?

Haven took the phone with a grateful smile, tapping away to find the answer on google. He wasn’t sure if it was a surprise that midgardian technology was one of the easier aspects to learn. His own phone had been left, forgotten, at his apartment. It’s not like he used it often anyways. After a few minutes reading the history, he gave a small hum and returned the phone to River. “You know, you midgardians seem to have a lot of wars, and over the smallest of things.”

“Yeah, I thought the same thing when I was younger,” River answered as he placed his phone back in the pocket it had been removed from. “At the same time though, it is relatively interesting to learn about them. Plus, as people constantly say, we need to learn from history so we don’t repeat it. Although if you ask me, even if we do learn from history, it constantly repeats itself without any help from us.”

“I think you could and I’m pretty sure there’s a phrase for that. Taking a busman’s holiday, although please do correct me if that was completely incorrect usage. Still working on figuring which sayings still make sense in everyday conversation.”

Haven tilted his head in confusion. That made no sense at all. “Wait, so they just. Wrote that they were going to be separate… and then they were?” he clarified. “That doesn’t sound right? Did this England not want to keep America? Is that why they were so lax and willing to let them go?”

“Honestly, there are too many technicalities in the whole deal that I never learned about in school. But England was actually pretty peeved about the Declaration of Independence and in turn, sent a whole lot of troops over to America. Although, that’s probably just an oversimplification of the actual timeline,” River answered as he pulled out his phone in order to look up the timeline. “If you want, I’ll lend you my phone so you can read about it?”

Haven had to wonder why there was so many people at the park that day, all pointing looking around in wonder and excitement for something that he didn’t understand. When he’d asked the nearest person what all the hype was for, all he’d gotten in response was the date. A fact that he knew. As he looked around a bit more, he caught sight of a familiar face, and he strode forward to say hello, and hopefully get a bit more information on what in the nine realms was going on. “So.. what’s so special about the fourth of July?” he asked, tilting his head in confusion.

River was honestly soaking up as much of the celebration as he could because by the time night fell and the time to light fireworks came, he’d have to bail. Werewolf hearing certainly sucked at times, but the 17 year old just had to remind himself it could be much worse. Someone’s voice grabbed his attention, which made him turn around. “I remember learning about it when I was younger, although I probably can’t repeat it word for word. It’s because America tends to associate July 4th of 1776 with the signing of the Declaration of Independence, which basically meant they were cutting ties from England.”

Did mankind truly not deserve the help of the Gods? Then again, what was Ignis doing about it in the first place? Absolutely nothing. At least, for now the most he had accomplished was helping professors with whatever needs they had. It was more like community service than hero work. It seemed to him that the world had more than enough heroes to help. As he ventured through the pouring rain, he finally decided to flee to the nearest building. His jacket was drenched, which only left Ignis looking like he just came out the shower. “Sorry for intruding.” He said out loud, if there even was someone in the small building.

“Don’t sweat it, there’s nothing interesting going on here anyways,” River responded as he glanced up from his phone, having paused the Gorillaz song he was listening to. The 17 year old took a look out a nearby window at the storm then up to see if the sky could be spotted. “Just happy that it’s happening during the day and not a night. It would especially suck if it was a full moon, what with the whole run in the rain then get a cold rumor,” he muttered to himself before turning to face his new companion. River held a hand out for a friendly shake as he added, “Sorry, completely forgot to introduce myself. I’m River Wilson, nice to meet you.”
