“Not everyone’s your wife, shitlips.”
He took another long drink, staring through the glass at Yagi the entire time. How presumptuous to assume the relationship between him and his dear Lobco. That wasn’t for anyone to decide but Roc.
“...” Why did he have to bring that up? Yagi didn’t want to talk about the woman he’s been avoiding for years. The reoccurring pain in his abdomen was a painful reminder of incidents he’d rather not bring up. “It doesn’t erase the present, you know?”

“Do or don’t, I don’t care.”
He didn’t really care about Yagi’s issues in the traditional sense. He liked it as conversation, sure, but past that he really didn’t have the emotional energy to invest in it at all. Not at this point, anyhow.
Such is life.
“With her? Ahh, but she’s so cute! Surely you can see that.”
“The eggs are a good bonus too.”
“I’d rather not get caught up with women. They’ll be the end of you one day.”
He knew Roc wouldn’t really care about any of that. He just wanted to drink the pain away and with that he downed his second beer. He felt buzzed but not drunk. Not drunk enough to drown out Roc’s voice.

“Well, someone’s certainly transparent.”
He took a sip of his new drink. Vodka & lime was far better than whatever atrocity he downed when he first sat with Yagi.
And he was so obvious too, with why he was here. Roc vaguely knew of what he had been through, like the altercations with his wife. They were all on file; he was an officer, after all.
“I’ve got ‘er locked up at home. I just wanna drink with company. I’m a simple guy, Yagi. You should know that!”
“I’m not here to talk about that, Roc.”
At this point he’d pay him to shut up about it. Again, another half drank glass of booze. Maybe he’d kill off any feelings he felt for this blue haired menace by chasing it with alcohol. He didn’t like how he was being called out and he’d just as soon not turn into some weepy fuck in front of Roc.
“I’ll never understand what you see in commitment.”

He shrugged, picking up and slamming the unoccupied drink. Whiskey… watered down an abhorrent amount by melted ice. Weak. And pretty gross.
“I don’t care. As long as I can get drunk as fuck, I’ll drink straight gasoline for all I care.”
Yagi looked like he was being tortured. It was honestly kind of funny, especially since Roc was just being himself. Why be so downtrodden when you’re surrounded by so much energy? Sure, it was mostly fueled by barfights and drunken arguments. But to Roc, it was the makes for a great time.
He turned away for a moment to order a proper drink before turning back.
“With that damn attitude of yours, I’m going to assume you’re just here to drown your sadness… or whatever it is you do.”
Yagi almost wished he would drink some gasoline.
Then again that was probably his irritation talking. Out of anyone Roc was one of the more sufferable people to sit in a conversation with. He hadn’t even noticed that he finished his beer. He decided to order another one before even talking a word to this man.
“Heh,” Yagi tensed up.
He wasn’t going to lie, it’s exactly what he came here for.
“I got things I want to get over. Isn’t that the story with most people here? Don’t you have some lobster tail to chase or whatever infatuation you wanna chase?”

Roc wasn’t looking to particularly wash away any memories with his latest bar crawl… simply put, he wanted to get smashed. He was never a man of class, he just wanted a good time at the end of it all. It was fun to lose control and absolutely wreck the place.
And who else happened to be there but a coworker of his! Ah, perfect. Drinking was always more fun with company! There was already some demon sitting next to Yagi, but that was no issue at all. He took the man by the collar and threw him to the ground without a second thought.
He sat down next to the goat demon, a sly smile on his face. Roc had even copped a drink out of the whole ordeal.
“Funny seeing you here! You come to get wasted too?”
Fuck.
So much for his good day of relaxing off the job.
God damn it, Roc.
“You know, I wish I was smashed enough to write you off as a drunken hallucination, but I know I’m not that plastered.” Yagi’s face was one of pure agony at the moment.
“Why are you here...drinking outta someone else’s glass? Roc you’re gonna catch some weird shit form that. You know what kinda people come here.”
Honestly, why couldn’t work just stay at work? Why couldn’t the corrupt policeman go after that lobster girl he was always fondling and leave him alone? Was that so much to ask?
Now he had no choice but to be double teamed by Roc and his PTSD.

“Well, maybe you’ll find someone eventually, right?” she didn’t know anything about relationships. “If you try…” she added, but then stopped. “I am alive still.” a pause as she moved to tug on the collar at her neck. “…It’s not exactly a fashion statement. I’m surprised you don’t know.” maybe he did. Maybe she was just misunderstanding, but…
“I wish it were that easy. I don’t know why I feel so compelled to do this. It’s like some primal nature leading me to my demise.” He paused at her words. “Are you? I’m surprised.”

The surprise confirmed his guess was correct. Not that it was difficult to read Luno most days… he wore both his instability and his desperation on his sleeve. He leaned in closer, the stink of alcohol on his tongue swirling with the miasma of cologne in the air.
“Did you ever find me familiar?”
Sinker.
“Kind of like… her?”
Confliction infected the vampire like a sickening virus, drilling a hole into his very core at this new found possibility. He had longed for her, taking so many with him so that he might have a chance to end his life with her...however, Sirius seemed to be quite intent on being his beloved.
“I...admit I’ve never thought about that...”
What was true? What was a lie?
He just didn’t know.

He’s not alone.
Jork jumps about half a mile when he’s spoken to, and he stares for a moment, as though he cannot process what was said to him. In moment’s like this he cannot rationalize everything. It isn’t just ‘teasing’, it hurts.
Unsightly. Of course he is. He doesn’t even bother to try and hide the way those words hurt him. The way they well fresh tears into his eyes. He quickly turns his body all the way around, away from his Father. He angrily wipes at his face, pawing at it until the tears finally dry up enough that he doesn’t feel so stupid and childish for being hurt.
“Sorry.”
The word is cold, and theres something in it that shows he’s not sorry at all. He just feels empty now, even worse than before. There wasn’t concern there, he called him unsightly. Why did he even pretend like anything was even remotely okay between them? It was moments like this that made him wonder. He sure didn’t feel loved.
Yagi blinked a little at Jork’s reaction. It wasn’t like him to be quite so jumpy. Their eyes met in that moment, and he could see how vacant and sorrowful they seemed. There was something about that look on his visage that pierced him deep.
Perhaps this wasn’t the time to be talking to him like that. There were times that Yagi could be emotionally unavailable or distant towards people, his family especially.
He outright refused to even look him in the eyes. Maybe he really did feel like the coward he always called him in this moment.Jork usually took his brash statements and pokes at his psyche with grace, but this time he hadn’t.
“Was I too harsh on you? Y’know, it’s not really like you to be so hurt when I say things like that. Did you have a bad day at school?”

It was nice to just get away from it every now and again. Hopefully this time he won’t have his boss crying on his shoulder about that flame devil. It wasn’t like Yagi didn’t appreciate that Satanick came to him for advice, but trying to give that devil relationship advice considering...well, that...was an issue all it’s own.
He’d never really been the best with that kind of stuff. Just thinking about it wanted to make him drink even more.
He gripped his beer glass tightly as the events of that moment ran through his head in vivid clarity. The searing pain, the sanguine of blood, the glint of a cruel knife from the woman he had once loved.
The goat demon shook his head and downed nearly half of the glass of beer, hoping that liquor would wash away those memories. The last thing he needed was another issue popping up when he was trying to relax.

“You know, things get mixed up a little. Reincarnation is a silly little thing, is it not? Sometimes realizations just take their sweet time.”
Dodging the question was difficult. He did it as efficiently as possible, making sure to keep a calm smile.
“I just wanted you to figure it out on your own.”
Without asking, Sirius pulled up a chair next to Luno. He crossed his legs, leaning back against its support.

Luno was in thought as he glanced at the picture he held in his hand of his fated, then to the blonde vampire before him. Could it be? Could he have been searching for something that was right in front of his face the whole time? Is that why Sirius thought that his little charade, as he called it was a giant waste of time? That all of the women he killed in belief that they were her pointless?
He didn’t like thinking that Sirius was right.
The last person he WANTED to be right was Sirius...
Their morals clashed, what little they both had. Their treatment of women also clashed but...was this why?
A thousand theories of Sirius’ prior actions were sliced open under a microscope for him to see.
Some things made sense and others did not.
“You didn’t give me any hints if that was the case. Is that why you treat women so badly...because you were reborn like this?”

He pouted a little, still keeping physical contact with Luno. He knew the other vampire was severely uncomfortable… perhaps he had mentioned her a little too early. No matter. Sirius could regain lost ground, even if Luno was going to act defensively.
“I am not trying to taunt you at all, just lead you in the right direction. I know you are not stupid, take the hint.”

Thoughts raced in Luno’s head at a thousand miles an hour. This couldn’t be...Could it? Could she have reincarnated? If so then...was she truly Sirius? How could he be certain?
To make them both related and unable to stand each other would be god’s cruel trick, wouldn’t it? The more he thought about it, the more it made sense in an odd way to him.
“If you’re her then how are you aware of it? Why would you not come back as you were before?”
