PureGaaLee Presents: WIP Your Heart Out

The end of the year is fast approaching, and with it PureGaaLee is getting ready for a new event to kick off 2023! After all, what better way to start the new year than with an event to help you accomplish one of your resolutions?

WIP Your Heart Out is designed to help you get those languishing stories finished! Did you make a resolution in 2022 to finish that fic, but didn't? Are you resolving to finish that fic in 2023? Do you have multiple WIPs hanging over your head? Well, this event is for you!

The event will be a long-running, formal event with sign-ups and regular check-ins, and it is for both writers and artists!

Writers will sign-up at the start of the year with any number of WIPs they want to get done, and artists will sign-up two months later by picking one or more fics to create art for! This event relies heavily on the relationship between fan writers and fan artists, and how we all inspire one another! And hopefully, this event can inspire you to finish your project!

This is not a prompt based event, so there's no need to worry about filling prompts or finding inspiration for a new idea. Just dust off those WIPs and get crackin'!

The event will be open to writers, artists, and artist pinch-hitters! So be on the lookout for announcements!

Extension Period

Creation Extensions: August 1st, 2023 - 1st September, 2023 Posting Extensions: 1st September, 2023 - 30th September, 2023

*Artists should be finished with their pieces early enough to allow for authors to see the work and be able to insert the work into their fic on AO3.

Additionally, artists who sign-up to be pinch-hitters will follow the artist creation period, but extensions will be granted to all pinch-hitters and the author they're paired with automatically.

Any author/artist who needs an extension will be able to request one as well. However, extensions will only go up to September 30th in order to allow for PGL's HorrorFest 2023.

hi all! @ghoste-catte here! i'm looking at hosting a gaalee ship week at the end of october. the plan is to have 2 prompts per day, in the theme of "scary and sweet" (so one scary prompt and one sweet prompt per day). just like previous events, this event would be open to all fannish pursuits: fic, art, icon sets, gifs, playlists, etc. this would be a no-signup, no-obligation event, with participants posting for as few or as many days of the event as they liked!
