Why Luka is good for Marinette

First, hug our girl. She deserves better. Marinette deserves a love that isn’t intent on breaking her. Loving Adrien has pushed her so far but also so much. She’s done so much for just a bit of his attention and is often humiliated in return. And Adrien still doesn’t love her that way. There’s nothing wrong with Adrien not loving Marinette. He deserves to feel the way that he does or doesn’t and that should be respected. Marinette bending over backwards for him does not entitle her to his reciprocation. But Marinette also does not and should not have to go to such lengths and depths for someone who won’t acknowledge her in that way. She deserves a love that she doesn’t have to break herself for. And Luka provides that love. An undemanding, gentle, giving love that Marinette who gives and gives and gives, should have. Not saying that since Luka is the only other guy who’s interested in her at this point then she should go to him and settle for him. No. It means that the nonjudgmental, undemanding kindness Luka is willingly offering her is something Marinette needs right now after gouging herself open for her friends, her crush, and all of Paris. Someone to be kind to her. That’d why Luka is good for Marinette right now.

This is pretty much the only full scene I saw from the Love Hunter but damn did it hit me like a ton of bricks.

And you know why?

Because when Luka let that bike fall he also let that guitar fall as well.

Now I've been out of the Miraculous Loop for a couple episodes (not to mention this episode was technically aired out of order) but that guitar isn't the same one we saw Luka with in Hardrock so I don't know if that's actually his guitar or what.

But here's the thing, Luka doesn't strike me as the kind of person to be careless with any instrument, whether it's his own or not. And yet when he saw Marinette start to cry he dropped the bike and by association the guitar so he could hug her. That's what gets me about this scene.

Luka cares about Marinette so much and his actions show it in a way that's just so beautiful to me. Maybe this is all just the Lukanette shipper in me coming out but you can't tell me this scene doesn't hit you right in the heart.

Due to its distance from Spain, the Spanish Government assigned Manila’s administration and government to the Viceroyalty of New Spain for two and a half centuries. Evangelization and commercialization constituted the core of intercontinental ties between Asia and America that materialized with the Manila-Acapulco galleons trade. 

Due to the grand exchange with the Philippines in those days, many cultural traits were adopted by one another, with Mexicans remaining in the Philippines, and Filipinos establishing in Mexico, particularly the central west coast, near the port town of Acapulco. 

Many Nahuatl words were adopted and popularized in the Philippines, such as Tianggui (market fair) and Zapote(a fruit).

World War 2: Japan and the Philippines

During the early years of the Spanish conquest, in 1567, just 2 years after Miguel Lopez de Legazpi claimed the islands for the crown of Spain, he informed Philip II about Japanese vessels and Japanese traders they’ve encountered in Cebu.

In 1570, Legazpi sent Martin de Goiti to explore Manila and there he came across 20 Japanese residents. 

The Japanese were already established in Manila even before the city was established as the capital of the Philippines back in June 1571.

They were also present in Cagayan, Pangasinan, and some parts in Mindanao. It would seem that the Japanese may have been under our skin, longer than we thought.
