Vegimon are a plant Digimon species that usually inhabit the warmer and more humid parts of the Digital World, but can be seen in many other places as well. They do not like the cold, however, and stay away from the regions where temperatures can drop closer to or below freezing.

They somewhat resemble massive pitcher plants, with big mouths and round "bodies". The lack of legs makes them slow and not agile, and they move around with the help of their vine appendages. These Digimon can grow to be pretty massive in some cases - as tall as a human adult, and are similar in many ways to the RedVegimon, an evolution of theirs. They also can vary in color, anywhere from green to more reddish or orange. Vegimon are ambush hunters, and will often hide in lush vegetation and flowers, or up in the trees, and wait for someone or something to pass by - they will then grab or beat their prey, immobilize it with their breath weapon, and consume it whole, leaving it to slowly dissolve in the acid in their "stomach". They also sometimes use the colorful leaves on their heads to lure prey closer.

Not all of them are hostile, and it's not uncommon to see them in settlements and towns, but less so in bigger cities. The more wild ones can be dangerous though, as they will go not just after other small digital life forms, but also smaller and weaker Digimon that they can consume. They will, however, quickly retreat if faced with a stronger opponent and ganging up on said opponent doesn't work.

Tailmon/Gatomon's water-dwelling evolution I ended up basing off of a selkie, but agonized over the fact that I wanted her to be an actually scary-ish seal, since it's supposed to be for being in water, but that kept overlapping with Gomamon's turf too much, so it ended up being half-seal, half-humanoid with a seal skin lol. Not what I wanted but I'll live, feels fitting enough for how some Digimon look

doodle of a design in the process for an aquatic Adult form for Impmon/Caedemon in Aurora~ It's an alternative evolution for when he needs to deal with anything water-related.

"The Digimon took on the appearance of water spirits known under many names, including Nix, from Germanic folklore and mythology. More specifically, it seems to be closer tied to the Nordic nøkk - male spirits that would in some cases lure children and women into the waters to drown them. The horse skull in place of a more humanoid head is likely due to the close ties to other water spirits, like the kelpie, bäckahäst or nykur.

It is an Undead/Demon type, Virus attribute Digimon that dwells in dark waters and can lure others in by mimicking the voices of other humans or Digimon, and then dragging them down with his chains and powerful, long serpentine tail. He can also play music to make others willingly go into the water, and controls the elements of water and ice.

There seems to be only one in existence so far, which, evolving from Impmon, thankfully doesn't do any of that. "

Dorumon is technically the youngest of the partnered Digimon. His Digitama lay dormant for many centuries, hidden away from the rest of the world - until he finally hatched one day, and that was when he found his human. In his own words, the first feeling and thought he had was that someone was waiting for him.

Despite being young, he matured and learned pretty fast. And while Dorumon is generally kind, caring and friendly to everyone around him, he also has a strong moral compass, an innate sense of justice and a desire to fight and protect others - though that sometimes clashes with his lack of life experience.

He picked up a lot of interests from his Tamer and really likes comics and manga

I don't think I ever commented on Impmon's new evo line in Liberator, but I love it because it's both hilariously edgy and over the top, but also badass, kind of what I'd imagine fits them very well, and also a great lore reference

What even are folks' favorite Digimon, actually?

I know for me there has always been one main favorite lol, but also a ton of others that I really, really like - including Tailmon and the evolution lines, and Dorumon, Gabumon, Guilmon, Renamon to name just a few other favorites.

There's very few Digimon designs I actually don't enjoy that much either due to bad design in my eyes, or bad concept execution
