How to Play:

As of now, Escape is a top down shooter where you try to survive for as long as possible against an endless horde of ghosts. The shooting right now is only limited to being able to shoot in the direction that the character is facing.
In the future, we definitely want to add a few more levels and different enemies to achieve our original vision of having the player kill all enemies in a level in order to progress onto the next level until they defeat the boss and escape. A crucial part that a lot of people wanted was to add the ability to aim using a mouse and having some sort of indicator for where you are aiming (an animation of the arm moving or a cursor/shooting field) so that is a priority. Another was adding more obstacles such as having the webs on the ground be able to slow down the player in order to change up gameplay.
Compared to the alpha, we were able to add shooting SFX and damage SFX for the player and enemy. A crucial addition was adding a wall to prevent the player from running out of the map and we added rocks as obstacles to block the path of the player. We were able to add a menu and a timer to turn the current version of the game into an "endurance" type of game. Unfortunately, we were not able to add the ability to aim with your mouse and a field to slow down the player with a spider webs like we had originally hoped. The updated animations that we had of the character aiming the gun and walking backwards was not added due to this.
Overall, the things that we were able to add ended up working well. The stuff that we were not able to add we are planning on including in the final build of the game.
