Rix as the main character of Dracula: a love story

In our previous post we talked about Gaius Julius Caesar, today we will talk about his heir and the first emperor of Rome, Gaius Octavius better known as Augustus.

Born in 63 BC, he belonged to the family gens Octavia. From his maternal side he was related to gens Julia. Caesar was his maternal great-uncle, who later adopted him and made him his heir.

Octavius was part of the Second Triumvirate alongside Mark Antony and Marcus Lepidus, but their alliance fell apart by the competing ambitions of its members. In 27 BC Octavius founded the principate, a system of monarchy headed by an emperor holding power for life. His powers were hidden behind constitutional forms, and he took the name Augustus.

After Augustus, Tiberius who was his step-son became the second emperor.

The story of Octavius is rich and very interesting, but as of now we only saw his holographic statue in one of the backgrounds. What do you think? Will we hear more about the first emperor in the upcoming updates? Share your thoughts!

Augustus as Pontifex Maximus, the statue is dated as having been made after 12 BCE. It was found on slopes of the Oppian Hill, in the Via Labicana, in 1910; Holographic statue of Augustus in one of the backgrounds.
