Do the corrupted interact with each other in any way? What happens when they cross paths, or do they try to stay away from each other in the first place?

Short answer? Depends on how they interacted before corruption (if they knew each other, if they liked each other, etc)

Long answer, generally they're cordial. If one corrupted passes by another, they'll leave each other alone. If the two (or more) knew each other, they'd probably stop to talk until they had enough of the conversation or until a survivor passed by.

It purely depends. though they don't attack each other UNLESS it's The Lover (Elphelt). She'll attack other corrupted if they attack whoever she's "married" to.

You see, the thing is, I'm not very confident with writing for actual canon characters..

So, I am going to spend a lot of time looking at the characters which means posts that will come of the fic itself will come.. slow.

It may eventually go onto AO3 anonymously (since I don't have to use my AO3 account for it, I realise. Which is good since my Ao3 user is the same as my main tumblr user.)

So, expect a fic at some point! I will still be doing ask things on here and eventually art will come soon!

okay time to finally clear up something I thought someone would ask about

okay uh.. i can explain robo ky. I wish this person sent in an ask, but they didn't.. so I'm just using their repost tags as a jumping off point.

this idea belonged to my friend so shoutout to my friend who I developed this AU with (he doesn't want to get tumblr sadly so he isn't able to be tagged)

so, Robo Ky is basically destroyed, but in a repairable state. He's in a technical coma until someone manages to get him fixed. This is why Venom then joins Medic (I am an avid robovenom shipper okay), to not only keep himself safe within a friendly camp but also as a place to stay between trying to get Robo Ky fixed.

Therefore, I can't mark him alive, but I can't mark him dead. So he has his own section on the chart.

okay heres a fun fact about this au

so I've been talking about my AU with my close friend for a while before posting, and the roster completely changed once before becoming the current roster you all know

but then I went back through, after reconsidering the roster and then it became the current version

My only real problem with this AU is that if this all started right before Bedman died in Xrd, Delilah wouldn't have been with Baiken and wouldn't have been there with Anji to get killed when he turned.

she died later on, due to Anji finding her. She would've been sleeping, I think? so if she was asleep, in a similar manner to how Bedman was asleep, then she would've been pretty vulnerable since she doesn't have her own bedframe.. I think. I'm not sure if she was just always awake or not, but I think before Bedman died, she would've been asleep.

Delilah isn't a character I know much about, sadly. I know some things about her post-xrd, but that doesn't help for an AU that takes place.. during XRD by technicality.

So, my idea was simply that Anji found her and killed her at a later point (..or I might just do some rewriting to my profiles and give her kill to someone else.)

either way, yeah it's worthwhile to point that out. Without explanation, it does seem like a contradiction (and I don't think my current explanation is the best..)

I know you mentioned that former connections don't matter to the corrupted, but do they just not have memories of any relationships? Like, does The Casanova not remember who the Jellyfish Pirates are? (Same with others like The Dancer and Baiken, The King and Sin, ect.)

ah yes now this is an interesting one! also two in one day, ITS CHRISTMAS!! (it is july)

okay, so a corrupted will understand a connection and recognise a person with that connection, but that will cause the corrupted to go after that person first. So, in short, they do remember,, kind of.

so thats Ky went after Dizzy first, for example. He may not have been around Dizzy, but he killed Dizzy first.

Therein, they will not recognise the person by name, so for example, The King recognises Sin as 'Child' and Sol as 'Rival'. The Cassanova recognises May as 'Daughter'.

Additionally, they may remember how they interacted with the person to an extent, which can be used as bait.. sometimes.

also, can raven get corrupted or will his immortality like. cancel it out or smth?

yeah, this has been asked and answered. but I'll answer this again as a recap :3 for you because you appeared in a drought and I question if you are a mirage.

The corruption is due to an issue with everyone's ID, basically if you're under too much stress or anything similar, the corruption takes hold and bam now you're corrupted (the end)

The reason why I've put Raven in immune, is because I don't doubt that Asuka would do some screwery to try and prevent the corruption. Therein, that's why he can't.

I don't know if this is way too gory by the standards of this AU, but I had the thought that since supplies are scarce and Raven is immortal, everyone could just...bite parts of him off when food is running thin. It heals immediately. He could just wander around offering himself as food. Or maybe with a combination of some Asuka wizardry he could try to grow more Raven flesh. Just make a whole web of Raven stretched across a room that immediately regenerates as soon as you take a slab for yourself. Most people aren't enthusiastic about the idea of cannibalism, but if you're desperate...

i didn't think of this so it didn't happen but fuck man, they could just do a cannibalism with raven. though the way you put it couldn't happen (the camp Raven is with is in hiding by technicality but I put them separately because they're pretty important)

Unless I missed something.. What happened to Gabriel? I figure someone who Slayer considers a sparring partner wouldn't get taken out so easily in this situation. (I might be blind and if so im SORRY)

The Brute essentially stormed Zepp, and therein.. there weren't many survivors. Though trust me, The Brute didn't get away without a scratch, he was out of commission for MONTHS thanks to Gabriel and Potemkin (more so Gabriel, obviously) but it didn't mean much.

If you keep at it, you'll live for longer. You won't survive (he always kills the survivors he brings along with him) but you'll definitely live longer.

A follow up to my last question about The Lover, since I thought of it right after sending it in, but how aware is she (or really any of the corrupted) of the corruption? I ask about her specifically because she's basically harmless, but the question applies to all of them.

Oh, yeah you are asking things that I should've absolutely clarified earlier.

The corrupted don't really know they're "corrupted" because they're somewhat mindless, you could theoretically carry a conversation with them (which is why they have spare conditions) but they're not thinking of anything other than blood. If you were to ask about the corruption, that isn't ever met with an answer by them.

Does The Lover go out of her way to protect whoever she is 'married to' at the time from the other corrupted or do they just kind of get an instinctual 'stay away' feeling?

oh good question because I should've clarified this earlier!

It purely depends on which corrupted it is. But typically she will protect whoever she is married to if she's within a camp, since sometimes you can get her to keep you within your camp so if your camp gets raided by The Brute or The Reaper she will be there and they will leave.

though if she drags you off somewhere, the other corrupted will usually leave her alone out of instinct.

Survivor Profiles: May

May is a survivor some could call tragic, having been the only member of the Jellyfish Pirates to not be dead or corrupted. Having hidden herself from The Cassanova during his initial slaughter of the other jellyfish pirates, she left her main weapon (her anchor) behind. She wandered alone, eventually joining her current camp (The Wanderers).

May plays the role of Lookout for her camp and could be considered quite good at it, though she can barely go the amount of time she has to without sleep. Thus, her camp's gatherer (Jam) tries to keep her fed first so she has the energy to keep going.

May doesn't get into fights when the camp is raided or attacked by one of the corrupted, since the camp tries to get her out first. Lookouts tend to take priority, and while May is capable of fighting for herself, she tends to be very very lethargic these days.

Sanity - 84/100 Hunger - 96/100 Injury status - Uninjured

I think generally the worst part is, Faust was the one who found him. While he (and by extension around half his current camp? Venom and Bedman came in after they settled in that pillaged village) was looking for a place to settle.. He found Zappa's body. Crumpled up, essentially dumped there messily and in a rush.
