I'm speechless.
This is now thought to likely be the biggest mass lobby EVER. Bigger even than section 28. I saw trans friends from across the entire country there. People who have travelled 7 hours to be there. Cis allies. Babies in prams and women older than my parents.
And our MPs listened. It really felt like I was witnessing a moment in history - a turning point for the fight for our rights.
You cannot tell me not to have hope. Not now.
The tide is turning.

reminder that "allies welcome" was once secret code for "those not out yet can still participate without putting themselves at risk", and for those who aren't out yet to comfortably exist in these spaces you have to let allies exist in those spaces too.

american leftists seem extremely focused on anti imperialism (good) but rarely- if at all- discuss decolonization in their own fucking country, despite acknowledging that it is a settler colonial state.

"The world is cruel..."
That's why we try to make the world a better place with our actions, folks.
Because, you know, we fuckin' live there.
“There are no trigger warnings in real life”
“The real world is cruel, get over it.”
My boyfriend is triggered by Christmas and Christmas music. We were in a restaurant, and Christmas music was playing, and he started panicking so he went outside for a cigarette. The manager of the restaurant overheard him saying he had to get out, and changed the music over for the rest of the time we were there. There are safe spaces in the real world. People are nicer than you think. And bullshit people who try to tell you to get over your triggers, ain’t shit.

TW : Transphobia

With the gradual loss of our rights as trans people around the world, I keep thinking about this story I read two years ago on Reddit. It could have been me or several of my friends. When will this stop? When will we finally be able to imagine a future where we can exist in peace? When will people stop finding it justified when we are attacked? When will people start addressing the real problems in the world?

It has often been said that "you should care about [group/issue x, y, or z] because they'll come for you next," and that can be an effective appeal.
But this is not solidarity.
Solidarity is being there for each other because we recognize the fragility and vulnerability in our shared humanity and the importance and validity of our diverse struggles. We all have needs sometimes, some more existential and urgent than others.
We find strength, comfort, love, and safety in each other. That is community. That is solidarity.

Just to put this into a bit more context...
So people are so worried about Trans women in women's bathrooms, when it's been happening for a decade without incident.
Meanwhile, ICE has had these powers for less than a year...

The fact that my Country's highest court of law allows itself to be influenced by far-right groups physically disgusts me.

Dear Reform UK,
I have to ask: what exactly is it about being British that you are so proud of?
Because it's not Britain's history of standing up to Fascism, or our support of allies, or our treatment of oppressed groups, if the ban on town halls flying Ukrainian and Pride flags is anything to go by.
If Reform win the next election, the only thing Britain can be proud of is how clean it manages to lick Putin's boots.

So AI is being used to put words in the mouths of the dead now?
Words cannot convey the level of disgust I feel at this moment.

We live in actual hell
