Tips for creating stickers?

I want to sell some stickers as a one off thing but I’m not sure how the best way to go about it would be. I don’t have a printer for the stickers because I don’t run an Etsy page or anything, I just want to make some fandom stickers, not make a business out of it.  Which means I would be sending images off to a company to print stickers in bulk. Does anyone have any good websites for this and any ideas on how best to package and ship the stickers off to people without running a high cost?

Thanks. I was only asking because of a post on Twitter. I was curious as to what they considered ‘encouraging or glorifying’ underage, rape, and zoophilia, and whether it expanded to fictional art/fic or not. I’ve seen sites advertised as pro ship/for fans by fans but then start putting restrictions on kink or problematic fiction before.

uh hi, I'm a new rickmorty shipper!! I was trying to figure out the best platform to be on? I already made a story on AO3 and I have a tumblr account set up, and before I started making fanart I wanted to get myself known out there. so what are some good platforms for rickmorty shippers? is tumblr any good? my story on AO3 got a decent amount of hits so I know that's going alright. sorry if I'm bothering you LOL!!! =)

To be honest with you I would say that Twitter is currently the place to be, there is a larger community over there. :) There are still some shippers on Tumblr but it’s nowhere near as active as it used to be (thanks to the purge and porn ban) unfortunately! T-T There’re also a few rickmorty Discord servers so it might be worth keeping an eye out for them too~ I’m interested in what story you shared on ao3! I would love to give it a read if I haven’t done so already :)

I hope this isn’t too much of a sensitive topic? But I’ve seen an influx of rickmorty shippers saying that Rick would never rape Morty and it shouldn’t be shipped like that? Do you have any thoughts?

No problem. I haven’t seen tons about this topic but I have seen a few comments over on Twitter about it. Bear with me, I’m not the best with putting thoughts into words lol. I think that opinions on this topic vary from person to person? For me, personally, I think it’s feasible to believe that Rick has it in him to rape Morty, yes. I reckon it would be less brutal rape but more grooming and manipulation? Rick is very abusive, manipulative, obsessive, and possessive canonically over Morty and often it feels like a very one-sided infatuation; it’s not a stretch to believe that Rick would just take what he wants just because he can, and then, when he realizes he fucked up, he just removes the memory and repairs the damage. He’s shown in the past that he has no problem with experimenting on, and hurting Morty (both physically and emotionally) to get what he wants. I feel like C-137 specifically would use the method of manipulation and grooming over a period of time to make his Morty submit to him by giving him the illusion of choice; asking Morty to give him a kiss, he could choose where he wanted to give Rick a kiss, but he HAD to give him a kiss; the option of NOT giving him a kiss is too much hassle than it’s worth and Morty knows that (look at the lengths Rick has gone to before because he was denied something. You can see Morty thinking it over and hesitating in the scene, he didn’t particularly want to do it). Rick has done similar things to this in other aspects of Mortys life before to make sure Morty doesn’t leave, or to make sure Morty continues to see Rick as dominant and all-encompassing, to the point he’s destroyed his dreams, altered his memory, destroyed his chance at relationships. He’s terrified to let Morty see that he’s so scared and reliant on him, but Morty is wising up, he’s pushing the boundaries. Abusers use every aspect they can to keep their victim tied to them, and if this means Rick has to do it via sexual or romantic means, then I believe he would, and in some fucked up way... wants to. At some point, after Rick has invaded every other aspect of Mortys life, it’s not unreasonable to believe he’d invade his sex life too.  Of course we see moments where Rick cares about Morty, he does, he’s just sick, and the love he feels for Morty is sick and it’s not normal; its obsessive. He knows it is but Rick is only human. I don’t think he wants it to be that way but he can’t help himself, he has no control and his ego prevents him from seeking help.  Either way, there are so many different dimensions, it’s stated canonically that there are worse Ricks than C-137, and there are Ricks like Doofus out there too. RnM have the potential to be anything anyone wants them to be. If you want the cute, fluffy, healthy relationship, then go for it! If you want the morally grey aspects to explore like dubcon etc. go for it! If you want the rape and the real fucked up shit then that is also valid! When content is released it’s death of the author (or artist), art is interpreted in different ways by different people. The goal I think is not to decipher, but to enjoy and find one's own meaning within that fiction. And I think that that’s fantastic. Dark fiction has helped me explore topics in safe environments, it’s helped me through trauma, and it’s helped me cope. To say someone is disgusting for even considering interpreting an already problematic ship like that is awful, and very presumptuous. I have squicks and things that trigger me too, things I don’t want to see or read, but that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t exist. Fandom is not automatically a safe space, you have to make your own safe space, especially in adult spaces.  The beauty of it really is that, even with C-137, you can interpret their actions and intentions in SO MANY different ways that lead to various different outcomes, and they’re all valid. It’s part of the fun of being in fandom; to expand your consciousness and imagination, and in some cases to push the boundaries of what makes you uncomfortable and knowing where to draw your limits with it.  RnM offers this up on plate as a whole goddamn meal because infinite dimensions and infinite possibilities exist.  Let people do their own thing, and let them enjoy it, but stay safe! Remember to blacklist, use the block button, and tag your work! <3  Sorry if this went off topic or dragged on at all. Creative freedom is very important to me, censorship is terrifying

So why is everyone angry at that one scene in ep 7 of Rick and Morty? It’s like they’ve never watched adult comedy before and this isn’t exactly the first time incest has been featured in the show

Feels like it’s just people screaming about it because shippers got some kinda fanservice and they can’t stand the thought of the creators just letting people enjoy what they enjoy rather than bash them every ten seconds. *BOO those nasty shippers!!* I’m honestly amazed the people who are offended by that shit are even still watching this show lol. Just want drunk and aggressive Rick being an absolute bitch to Morty, invading his space and just being a general asshole. Morty is so done and overpowers him because Rick is weak and wobbly from alcohol and pins him to the floor, hands wrapped around his wrists. Rick is screaming at him and struggling against Morty, and Morty, straddling Rick, just leans down and starts kissing and sucking on Rick’s neck and jawline until he relents and starts to breathe heavily, trying to grind up against Morty. Morty reaches a hand back to rub against Rick’s erection through his trousers, and Rick *whines*. Morty shimmies back and pulls Ricks trousers off, easy access because Rick isn’t wearing underwear. Morty sucks Rick’s dick down, he’s relentless, still annoyed about Rick’s attitude. Rick almost screams, hips jerking up trying to push deeper down Mortys throat, his legs kicking out, hands grabbing at Mortys hair. His orgasm is swift and intense, back arching off of the floor, his body shuddering. He’s drooling and spent, spread out on the floor when Morty pulls off of his dick. Rick doesn’t notice when Morty hastily walks away, or when he returns with a bottle of lube; everything is spinning and he can hardly keep his eyes open. What did you think of the kiss scene?!

Holy shit.

Just as I thought they would, the creators of Rick and Morty are going to extreme lengths to accommodate for a significant part of their fandom, and challenge people that say they can't condone or express this kind of affection in their show.

In any other show, it wouldn't have as much meaning: but R&M is infamous for the many, many allusions to a sexual relationship between Rick and Morty. From strip clubs run by Mortys for Ricks, to a very open approach to sexuality by the two specifically, and to the ever referenced "irrational attachments" scene, Rick and Morty challenges the line of familial love. This is something particularly common in other huge shows like Big Mouth, GoT, etc, and is often reflective of mental/emotional state, politics, time/where, etc.

In Rick and Morty, it is all of those things.

Mental and emotional state for the obvious mental struggles Morty has vs the emotional immaturity of Rick, politics through a citadel that has no option for sexual release than the only two people occupying it, and time/where because of the multiverse.

Moving onto my personal opinion, it was masterfully worked in. Rick is a character that is slowly becoming more open to receiving and giving affection despite feeling weak for feeling the need - the kiss was a nod to that as well as a nod to the fans who are keen on what Adult Swim is selling. For me, my interest lied more in Morty's reaction.

I love Rick, but it's an escalation (nod to my last discussion post, squee!) of an already established theme of him getting smashed out of his mind and then seeking affection from specifically Morty. But from Morty, we see acquiescence. A lot of the time we see Morty in shock, or angry at Rick for getting blackout drunk and invading his space - but him doing what Rick said, while not new, isn't something we see often in this situation.

Morty doesn't like Rick getting blackout drunk. He gets angry and belligerent and attempts to exert his sober influence over Rick in whatever way possible. But in this situation, Rick gave Morty a choice:

"Kiss me - on the lips or on the cheek but you have to kiss me" is exactly what that scene means.

Morty isn't given a choice in regards to giving Rick a kiss - but he has been made an active participant in how far he goes. How he chooses to kiss him. In setting the pace. In complying, but only to a certain degree. The new question, contrary to my last opinion post, isn't about how far the creators will go:

It's about how much more Rick can ask of Morty, and what choices Morty will make.

So today I was thinking about what the fandom, or specifically the rickmorty community, used to be like before the Tumblr purge and porn ban. Back before and around the time season 3 aired, and even quite a while after that, during the hiatus, there was so much fanart and fic and headcanons and events, being posted every day. My dash used to be full of so much awesome stuff, so many awesome people. It was amazing. There was a real sense of camaraderie and honestly a great deal of support as well. Not only for content creators but for the people who consumed the media, for people who needed to express themselves through this pairing, who needed someone to be there for them because they were lonely or sad or whatever. And I know no fandom is without it’s toxicity and drama. But I've been in quite a few fandoms now, and I can say that this fandom has been the one I’ve stuck with the longest because of the lovely, creative, and open minded people i’ve met and befriended along the way; some I haven’t spoken to in years, some who have left the fandom, some who have recently joined the fandom; the fans who have just left me a lovely messages on my work or in my ask box included. As a whole these are the people who have made this fandom experience the best fandom experience for me regardless of whether they’re still here or not. I will forever be grateful for those times because they were the best and they got me through so many awful moments in my life where I had nothing else but this goddamn show and this goddamn ship, and I seriously miss this community with all of my heart; not to sound cringe. Oof. 

Anyway, this isn’t a goodbye or anything. I guess I can really feel the loss of the community (especially on Tumblr, there are a few shippers left on Twitter) since S4 aired and... well there really isn’t many people left here. Almost all of the accounts I used to follow have been abandoned or terminated with the rare exception of some old blogs still accessible (which are literal goldmines for rickmorty content, half of which I haven’t seen in forever, that i’m making the most of while I still can) and the rest of the community has been spread out across the internet slowly dying I guess?  My dash is quite literally dead. Mmmm I suppose the point of this post was pretty much just to get my feelings out there about the whole thing because I was feeling nostalgic and sad. I suppose this is also me trying to look for and shout out to any new or old shippers out there who would still like to keep this community going, even if it’s small. Please please please feel free to chat to me or send me messages or whatever? You’re not alone shipping rickmorty, you have every right to regardless of what Tumblr says because Tumblr literally destroyed this community and it’s a sad thing to have happened.  TLDR; I’m sad no one is on here anymore and I need to find more rickmorty shippers to follow and talk to and be cool with. I miss you guys <3
