Fucking fantastic 馃ぃ
"Just the sound of someone else's babies beeping makes me want to throw up", says a bird that doesn't have kids yet. She can't wait to build her own very first nest, see eggs she laid in it hatch, and spend a very busy summer feeding them.

Hey. *Cups your face in my hands* It's ok if you had to drop out because of your Chronic Illness. You're not "wasting your potential" or some shit like that. You are a human, not some battery filled with capitalist potential, and I'm proud of you for resting and taking time to recover even when it's hard.

Sorry we really went from free the nipple, take back the night, slut walks, and ending gender/sex segregation in sports being fucking milquetoast feminism 101 concepts to fucking girl dinner and "I just worry about fairness if we let trans girls play against cis ones" and "it was right of that woman to call the cops on a black man for existing near here in public during the day time because men are all violent monsters" and "radical feminism isn't transphobic we just need to kill all men including trans ones those oppressive traitors" and I will legit never be able to be normal about it. What the FUCK happened. I'd say I wonder what the feminists of my youth would say about this but I'm one and lemme tell ya I want to throw up. Go fucking read bell hooks or do something else useful please because all of this learned helplessness, gender essentialism, and transphobia dressed up as feminism is actively holding us back.

hi this one's gonna be controversial BUT if you think disabled people shouldn't talk about their disabilities because it makes you "uncomfortable" you need to shut the fuck up and think about WHY disability makes you uncomfortable

To all the people who say "oh don't worry I don't see you as disabled!" or "I see you like a normal person!" and think they're doing us a favor.
Please.
Please see my disability. Please see everything that I'm unable to do. Please see how I'm struggling. See how much pain I'm in. See how slowly I get out of bed in the morning me.
Make me feel seen, and feel valid. Seeing "through" a person's disability isn't good. See me. See me as a whole.
Something way more okay to say is "I acknowledge your disabilities and your struggle, but it doesn't make you any less and I still value you."

I love having friends who reject diet culture. I love going out when everyone buys food and drinks that they enjoy. I love people who will pipe up and suggest we stop for a snack or grab a meal. I love ordering what I want and no one making comments other than how good it looks (and maybe asking to steal a bite off my plate). I love revelling in how full we are after a good meal and taking a break to appreciate how fortunate we are. I love sharing snack from our bags with one another. I love enjoying the pleasure of food and drinks and good company.

Anything helps...
I don't normally post anything as I've never had a real reason to, but I am desperate.
About a month ago my husband, 3 year old child, our dog, and I were kicked out of our residence abruptly, unjustly, and without any compassion.
We've been narrowly skirting by, staying at campsites and hotels ever since.
While we've applied for assistance, we've been turned away by all shelters and any government aid because my husband has a job and make slightly above the alotted threshold of the maximum requirement to get aid.
However, paycheck to paycheck doesn't allow for us to save and with the often nightly rate it cost to keep us sheltered, my husbands paychecks go by as quickly as they come.
When everything seemed to be going wrong all at once and I thought we'd be separated for good as I've often heard about, we were able to find a place to rent that approved us only an hour away from my husbands job.
This was the best news we've gotten all month!
Unfortunately, we have run out of funds, are in-between paychecks, and need to raise just a small amount for the initial deposit. After that, we'll be secured in a home, off of the street, and back on our feet.
It would mean the world to me if you could donate with the gofundme link below any amount.
If you want to help but can't donate, reblog this post, please.
Any and all donations and reblogs are appreciated.
Thank you.

To inspire an untamable sense of urgency in regards to active, boot-laced compassion. To actively imagine a better world and to write it down so that others might imagine it as well. To destroy the myth of our collective powerlessness. To create beauty where there isn't yet beauty. To remind people they are not alone. To un-war our relationships to each other and to ourselves.
-Andrea Gibson (in response to the question "What is the role of the poet/artist in the current political climate?")

I think that it's really important for people to realize that being disabled is traumatic. genuinely. your body and brain feel like they are breaking down and wrong. you are in constant heavy stress from stuff like chronic pain. most disabled people i know have a somewhat regular emotional break down from the trauma of it all. and we are expected to just smile through it by society, to not be in the way, to not be an issue.

if USPS has a million fans, I'm one of them
if USPS has 5 fans, I'm one of them
if USPS has 1 fan, that is me
if USPS has no fans, I'm no longer alive
if the world is against USPS I'm against the entire world
till my last breath I support USPS
I joke but actually USPS is the literal lifeline for so many housebound disabled people who receive lifesaving medications through it- especially housebound people in rural areas. so many private shipping companies do not serve rural areas. try getting anyone else to drive hours into the middle of nowhere to deliver. try it. not all disabled people live in urban areas. USPS saves disabled lives 鈥硷笍 without USPS many housebound disabled people will die.
USPS is a disability rights issue
