me feeling confident enough to start gradually sharing the story and characters of Midnight Visit online after working on it for 5 years:

a little blurb for my mlp au cause i have crazy writers block rn but i also feel like ive been talking abt it so much with no context😵‍💫😵‍💫

so basically the main characters are my two ocs sage and scarlet, twidash, rarijack, sweetie belle and gina (a next gen oc for gilda and greta). the tldr is that sage and scarlet have cutie marks that give them magical abilities, but neither of them are unicorns (sage is an earth pony and scarlet is a pegasus) and obvi that is very unheard of. so the story starts off kinda like a slice of life, mainly following sage and her learning more abt her powers. but as time progresses in the story it gets dark and turns more into a thriller/horror.

im gonna be posting actual chapters on ao3, and art pieces to accompany said chapters will be on my instagram and also here (maybe idk yet). also might make some comics for it, but like for side stories cause i have quite a few in mind already🌟

i will be so transparent tho, this au will not be something that i focus on 100% so bare with me🥀🥀

Matias (Max) Warren - he/him🐺

Matias was born on January 2nd, 1999 in Uskal, Lykah to his mother and father, Felicity and Maxwell Jones. He's their youngest child, the oldest being his brother Jerimiah who is 3 years older. As a child, Matias was very close with his mother but favored his father more in looks and personality. The people in his pack doted on him often, saying he would grow to be just like his father and lead as their chief once he was gone. Unfortunately, that came sooner than expected. When Matias was 9, his father was killed during an ambush orchestrated by the Western pack in Oclistan. Felicity was left in charge as the chief, seeing as her sons were far too young to lead (9 & 12). Over the next few years, the tensions between the two packs grew. Defenses rose and some began to leave the forests in fear of a looming conflict that could turn deadly once more. It wasn't until 2012 that Uskal's Eastern pack would fully fall. Because of an agreement between the Western pack and a hunter hired by the king of Breaque, the forests of Uskal were set ablaze. This caused the destruction of their homes, and was believed to have taken the life of Matias. But, unbeknowst to his mother, he was found by his brother but unfortunately left behind. Matias thankfully survived after being saved by one of the hunters, Victor Romano, but wasn't brought back to his family. Instead, he was brought to an orphanage where he was soon adopted by his new parents; Lydia and Theresa.

Matias grew up with his new moms in North Amerika, and met others who were like him. Kang-Dae; the siren whom he met at his parents' rec center, and Stacie and Hector; werecats he met at school as they were all in the same classes. Matias began to create a new life for himself, but never forgot his family. He began going by "Max", an ode to his father (only his moms call him Matias), and would help out as much as he could with kids at the rec center who were also from Lykah. When he was around 17 he met Donatello, a human boy who was a grade above him. Donatello was already friends with Stacie and Haez before Max moved to N. Amerika, so the two were quickly accquainted. Soon after they began dating for almost three years, but the relationship was toxic and fickle making it easier to breakup but harder to adjust because of their shared friends. Despite an emotionally tolling relationship throughout the rest of his teens, Max built a new identity and life for himself with his friends and family.

He's a bit lost in life, not knowing what his goals are (primarily due to the loss of his family that he's struggled to cope with) and often follows whatever K.D is doing, since the two are in similar boats. He's found a way to make ends meet by doing freelance photography, teaching kids at the rec center and his neighborhood how to skate, and taking odd jobs when he can. But he yearns for more. Amongst his friends, he's known as the one who's always chipper and willing to speak up for those who can't. But to himself, Max is VERY reserved. He doesn't open up about anything, and only does to make light of it or downplays the severity of a situation. His friends and parents still don't know what really happened in Uskal as he refuses to talk about it in detail.

In regards to his abilities, Max has never been able to shift into his wolf form. Being a yellow eye, his powers are stronger than most but the abilities come much later in life if at all. Despite this, Max posseses strengths that contrast from his physique and demeanor. He's extremely agile, exceptionally fast, and has impeccable eyesight and hearing. As a child he was often outcasted for being a yellow eye. Mainly due to the other kids being fearful of his potential powers, but also because his brother had convinced him the "delayed shifiting" was something to be ashamed of. When his father died, Max secluded himself even more as he was the only yellow eye left in the pack. As an adult, he's put the idea of shifting in the back of his mind. Whether or not he's able to shift doesn't concern him, but rather it's the confidence that he's been working to build.
