"I know you don't like talking about him and all the difficulties that are shared there, so I won't press about it anymore or bring it up unless you want to talk about it." Glen knew that this could be a sensitive subject, and he wanted her to know that he would respect whatever she wanted. If distracting her from that was all she wanted then he would do just that. There was a lot of things that he would do for her, and he just hoped that she was aware of that. He loved her more than anything else in this world, and now that they had their twins life had gotten so much brighter for him. A family was something he hoped for in his future, it was a dream of his. Being able to have what his parents had but with the love of his life — little did he know that Sydney was going to be that person for him. All he had hoped for now, was that she would eventually come around to the thought of marriage.
Glancing down at the dogs that were all laying close by, and then back up at Sydney he shook his head slightly and laughed. "I think he really missed you then. Probably was so concerned that you didn't come home last night." Grabbing an edamame he began to eat it as she brought up how protected their babies were going to be with their dogs being around. "They don't know it yet but once they get older and their best friends are these dogs, they'll know." It was sort of bittersweet thinking about how their dogs would make these kids their entire world, and once they both got old enough they'd love them just as much if not even more. "Believe me, I can't believe it either. It all seems like a dream and I'm scared that I'm going to wake up." Grabbing his napkin, he cleaned his fingers and walked over to Sydney, cupping her chin he leaned in to place a gentle kiss on her lips. "I love you...so much."
sydney hoped that she would be able to stick with slowing down. she wanted to focus on their home and their family. that was easier said than done with how demanding her schedule could be. it wasn't ever a problem before but now everything was different. she knew her relationship with glen was different because he understood the demands of her work. she nodded since she knew that he was making a good point," it won't be easy but know that we will enjoy our time together and figure out everything." it was going to be a delicate balance and sydney knew it. she hoped that they would be able to figure it out. she knew that her family was the complete opposite of glen's. that was probably why she loved his family as much as she did. the situation with her dad was complicated and had been for years. he didn't agree with her career choice, who she dated and now that she was a mother at her age. she wanted to make sure that their twins had the kind of family that glen did. she wanted to make sure that they were loved and had everything they could want," he can't and it's not something you have to apologize for," she paused," i've accepted that my dad and i won't see eye to eye but maybe he'll come around." there were so many things that she hadn't been able to eat while pregnant. she wanted to enjoy the sushi and that was exactly what she was doing. she laughed a little and shrugged," it wasn't the best but i knew i'd be coming home to ours." she leaned back a bit as she took another bite," tank wouldn't leave my side, she laid by the tub when i showered earlier," she mentioned," glen and charlie don't realize how loved and protected they are." she glanced towards the baby monitor to check on the twins, seeing they were still asleep," i still can't believe that this is real, that the twins are home with us and we're home."

Glen tilted his head to the side as she said she would try — that was all he wanted. In their line of work it was hard to push things aside because everything was always on a set schedule and he understood that. He was glad that they were both in the same line of work though, because he knew that she would understand him not being to be there at all times and vice versa. "That's all I ask...for you to try. I know that it won't be easy, but we just gotta enjoy whatever time can get together and with our little ones." The tricky part now would be who would be where and how parenting would be go with that mix.
As she began talking about her mom and her dad, he didn't attempt to bud in or say anything that could possibly upset her or make things worse. He just listened intently as she explained things to him, and he couldn't him but wince at the fact that she didn't know if her father had responded to the photos of his grandbabies. Glen was aware that all families weren't the same, and some parents weren't so open to being apart of their kids lives or grandkids for that matter. With the kind of family he was raised, he was fortunate and there wasn't a day he didn't acknowledge that. The actor just hoped that he could provide a similar family setting for her and their two kids. "Mmm, well at least he can't say that he didn't get photos of them, right? I'm sorry that this is something we have to go through, sweetheart. If I could I'd make it all go away."
Using his chopstixs he also placed a roll into his mouth and nearly chuckled at the wave of happiness that rolled through Sydney as she began to eat. That was all he needed to see, see her happy and trying to make light of what was going on despite all things. "I can't even begin to imagine how uncomfortable that hospital bed was. Because our bed is quite literally like heaven in a mattress form." He said as he rose his hand towards his brow, and itched right above the brow with the back of his index finger knuckle. "I think they missed you too...and the way they're so curious about the twins is kind of amusing. But it's also adorable. Glen and Charlie are going to have some really protective older fur brothers."
sydney almost froze at the question that he asked. she knew exactly why he was asking that. she didn't love staying and never had. she allowed herself to take a deep breath," we're going to try to." that was the best she could do and she hoped that he understood that. though sydney knew that she needed to make the most of their time together. they were going to be able to spend time at their home with their newborns. she watched as he went to grab plates and she took the one he held out. her movement was slow but she went to set it in front of her," i think so too," she told him," i want to just enjoy being home and being a family." she knew that he was probably worried about talking about her family. her's was not at all like his and they both knew it. she was going to begin to place a few pieces onto her plate. though she again was taken for a loop when he brought up her dad. she wasn't too sure as she glanced over at him," my mom didn't mention him." her parents weren't together but she knew they still spoke. she wanted to call her dad but doubted that would go over well. she didn't want the upset when there was already a lot going on," i think my mom sent him the photos i sent her but i don't know if he responded." she doubted that she wanted to know. "it will," she said with a grin, hoping to change the subject. she laughed a little as she realized that he had practically gotten everything that she could want. the blonde was happily going to pop a piece of the rainbow roll into her mouth. she nearly did a happy dance but she knew that she needed to be careful," our first day home and yes, we got this," she paused," and i really did miss our bed and i missed our other babies." their three dogs who had taken to standing guard with the twins already.

"Good, we're going to take it easy the next couple of days, right?" He questioned with a brow quickly quirking up as he looked over at her. Glen knew that this was going to be a big adjustment for the both of them, but definitely for Sydney. He knew that she loved being busy and this was going to force her to really just slow down. He was thankful for this time that they were able to have together and with the babies, and the rest of their family. Glen went to the cabinets and grabbed two plates for them, and handed her one as she started conversation about her family. "I think them coming to visit would be good. We'll enjoy the next couple of days together and then we can start taking visitors next week."
Glen didn't want to push too much about her family, he knew that it was a slightly sensitive topic since the talk they had with her dad didn't go as planned. Since she had brought it up first, he took that as a good moment to bring up her dad, and see if there was any new movement there. "And your dad? Is he..." he let his words trailed off, still treading lightly with how he brought it up, "...he coming too or just your mom and brother?" Glen really wished that her dad would set his differences aside and at least give them a chance, and his grandbabies, as well. It pained him knowing how harsh he was being with Sydney.
"I have a feeling this is going to hit the spot." He said with a half smile, as he began to place pieces of the rolls he had brought back. "I also brought edamames, if you want some of that." Glen began opening that container and placed a few on his own plate as well. "Our first official day back home, and with our babies...I think we got this, babe." He mused as he kept it positive.
sydney had been so relieved when she realized that she was going to be able to go home right away. of course, the doctor had stressed that she needed to take it easy. especially after delivering multiples. part of her was feeling worried that they were going home with their babies because they were first time parents. it did help that glen's mom had already promised to stop by as much as she could. it was nice to actually be in their home and in her own bed. the babies ewre finally asleep and that felt like an amazing achievement. she had been surprised when she realized that glen had actually gotten sushi. she didn't think that he'd remember her saying that was what she wanted. especially with all the crazy of them coming home and everything. all she could do was smile as he began to open up the containers. the blonde noticed how many different types he had gotten," i'm doing okay," she told him," i'm sore but also starving." she knew that she was going to be leaning on him quite a bit. he had told her it was fine but she was a bit worried about it. she reached to brush her hair away from her face," and my mom called, she and my brother are talking about coming to visit next week?" she wasn't too sure if she was ready for that but she wanted her family to be included," i told her i wanted to check with you since i feel like our door might become a revolving one." she did want them to have time alone with their little ones. that was also part of why she had decided to delay her mother. she took a deep breath as she reached for her glass of water," all of this looks so good."

That's fair — kids can be a lot to handle and sometimes it's just not for everyone which I respect. Being an uncle is fun stuff, man. I totally get it. Mhm, it's really rough but it's all worth it. Lucky for me that Syd and I are tag teaming this. Sydney actually picked it out — we had that whole took a look at our baby and she just looked like a Charlotte to us. And she really wants us to call her Charlie, so there's that too.
The idea of having kids is terrifying as hell, to me. I love being an uncle but that’s as far as it’s gonna go. For now, at least. Sleep deprivation? Oft, that’s rough. Hopefully it doesn’t get too bad for you. My sister hated it when she went through that and it was only own baby she was dealing with. Cute names — what made you pick charlotte? I’d ask about glen but that’s a fairly obvious reason.

Glen couldn't peel his eyes away from his parents and how over joyed they were to be holding their newest grandbabies. His dad making a comment about how he felt honored that they were so willing to pass along their name, and Glen gave him a slight nod accompanied with a warm smile. Deep down he knew how important it was to pass on their name, and he was just grateful that Sydney had agreed to it. As he sat down beside her on the bed, he made sure not squish her too much, his hand in hers he laced their fingers together. "God, I know. I just want us...the four of us in our bed watching something super lame on the tv while they sleep in our arms." An image that he had thought about more than once since finding out she was pregnant. "Sushi you say? I think we can get that on the way home once we leave this joint." Glen said as he looked over at Sydney, giving her a playful wink.
After a full 24 hours in the hospital after Sydney gave birth, they were finally back home. Now it was just the four of them, and of course, his mom would be coming and going throughout the week because she simply couldn't get enough of her grandkids. Both babies were finally out, and it finally gave him and Sydney some much needed alone time. As promised he had brought home some take-out sushi, because he kept that in the back of his mind until he had it for her. As he began to open up the containers that the food was packed in, he looked over at Sydney, "how are you feeling mama?"
sydney had never allowed herself to picture a family. she had been focused on her career ever since it had gotten going. dating hadn't even been that important. glen had come into her life and changed it all for her. he had given her something that she never saw for herself. she wished that her own parents would be there and be supportive. her mother had come around a bit but her dad was another story. she knew that she had glen's family and they had shown her more support than she could have imagined. it didn't take long for them to return. she smiled as she saw the looks on his parents faces. it was impossible to miss how glen had tears streaming down that he wiped away," and they are so happy to meet you and be here." she carefully sat up a bit to hand them both over. her heart warmed at the sight of them, seeing how thrilled they were. she glanced towards glen who had come beside her. she nodded at what he whispered," they are." her hand reached to take his again and she gently tugged him down onto the bed with her," i can't wait for all of us to be home and just enjoy being a family." she knew that she finally had everything that she never thought that she would be able to have," and i also can't wait to eat some sushi." her tone was playful as she looked towards him.

The way you're describing it makes it sounds terrible as hell, but it's not...I promise. It's overwhelming sure, but it isn't the worst thing to happen. I'm sleep deprived, but I'm hanging in there. Thank you, thank you. We need our little boy Glen III and our little girl is Charlotte.
Two? Mate that’s fucking terrifying and it didn’t even happen to me. How are you dealing with it all? Already getting the sleepless nights going? Congrats, dude. What’re their names? Gonna need some more info than this.

Hmm, I don't know if I can believe you about this. But I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. It's interesting to see how changing a hair color can really change a persons look. Always trips me out. Hell yeah, you have that on your resume and that makes you cool. Totally get that! Yeah babies...look I didn't want to immediately make this about me. They really are the most perfect little things I've ever seen, and I know parents tend to be biased as hell when it comes to their kids but like Syd and I? We created perfect babies.
i've never done that even once in my life, glen. and anyone who might try to tell you otherwise, is lying. that's fair. i see that still and it's not me, ya know? but it's still cool to have had a part of such an iconic show. even if it was just for a second. we take the scraps that we're given, ya know? wait .. babies? why are we wasting time talking about stranger things, when there's this exciting topic to discuss? go on, dad. gush about how perfect they are, no detail is too small.

Before walking back into the room where he had left Sydney and his two babies, he looked at both of his parents with tears building in his eyes, "they're the most precious things I have in this world now, mom and dad. All those things you said about parenthood is all true, and I can't believe I ever doubt your words." It was a special moment shared between the three of them. Truth be told, he didn't think he'd be having this heart to heart with them, no this soon in his life, anyway. He had been so focused on his career and making sure that it finally took off at that marriage and kids just never really crossed his mind — it wasn't until he had gotten serious with Sydney then everything just took off on its own, and life had its plans set out for the two of them. Walking in right behind his parents, he looked at them both and then over at Glen and Charlotte all while wiping away the few tears that had managed to roll down his face. "Mom, dad...meet Glen the third and Charlotte Powell, your grandbabies." His voice shaky as he began speaking out loud, still feeling incredibly surreal but he was takingi t all in because he didn't want to forget this very moment. The first meeting of grandparents and grandbabies was one of the sweetest moments he had witnessed, and this time it was because of his very own and not because his sister. His mom absolutely over the moon as she took her granddaughter into her arms and his dad taking his grandson into his. "I think they're absolutely in love with them." Glen said gently to Sydney, as he kept his eyes on the four of them who were completely in a bubble full of pure bliss.
it felt like everything that had happened in the past had been building up to it. she never thought when she had signed on for anything but you that it would change her life. glen was different for her and now he had changed her life in a way she hadn't seen coming. she nodded, smiling at his words," i know, i won't forget it and i hope you don't forget it either." she knew that their was nothing that could compare to what they provided for each other. glen had given her so much and he had now given her a family. she smiled, laughing a little at his words," you make a good point, we wouldn't be here, they wouldn't be here." now that she had them, she couldn't imagine a life without them. even if they had only been born that very day, she knew that life was going to be so amazing. she knew that they were basically in their own bubble. it was something that they were going to relish in. she couldn't remember if either of them had smiled so much," you thought that? i think we both probably thought that about a lot of things we heard and will be proven wrong." she reached to run her hands along the twin's backs. she felt one of them shift and she smiled," i can't believe you two are finally here." she laughed a little as he seemed to snap out of it at the mention of his parents," exactly so off you go." she knew that his parents were probably just pacing in the waiting room. she nodded as she shifted to sit up a bit. she called for a nurse because she didn't think she wanted her in laws to basically see that much of her. though she nearly pouted at the idea of letting them go. they were being placed back in her arms once her gown was set up. glen scrunched up his face and seemed to squawk for a moment before settling right back down," your daddy will be back," she promised," he just went to get your grandparents."

Hearing Sydney say that there would always be love there no matter what made him feel a sense of relief that he couldn't really put into words. He knew that it was true, and it was something he was already aware of before she mentioned it, but hearing it coming directly from her? It sort of solidified it. "Always nothing but love for you. I hope you don't forget that, sweetheart." Glen bit down on his lower lip, as he carefully watched as his daughter and son both nuzzled against her. A perfect creation between the two, and he was so damn proud of it. "Kinda of glad that we don't typically have self control around one another, because if we did then we wouldn't be here right now. With these two." At first when they found out the news about her being pregnant it was all a big surprise and it was merely because of how quickly things were going to change for them both, but as time went on? Glen was thankful for it. For her. As Glen took a hold of her hand and she instantly linked their fingers together, he gave her a glance with a smile. A smile that was permanently there because nothing could wipe that away from him, not now. "It really does. I always thought that parents lied about how a name could perfectly suit a baby, but it all makes sense now. Weird how that works, huh?" Brows cinched together, as he shook his head lightly. Everything in Glen was itching to hold one of them in his own arms, but he didn't want to ruin the precious moment she was having with them both — instead he stood there in awe, nodding as she said they were both their little miracles because she was right, they were. It wasn't until she mentioned his parents that caused him to snap back into consciousnesses to form words again. "You're right, damn. I was in this little bubble and almost forgot about them. I'll go get them, I know they've been dying to meet them." Letting go of her hand, he leaned down to place a kiss on the top of her hair and he walked out into the waiting room, and gathered his parents to bring them back.
it was something that no one could get you ready for. sydney had realized that the moment the contractions had started up. she knew that she had yelled, cried and cursed at him quite a bit. though she hadn't been able to stop herself and she hadn't been in a rational frame of mind," we really did get through it together and we both know there's always love there, no matter what is going on." she was happy to hear him laugh, nodding," lack of self control really was our weakness with one another." she still had the sneaking suspicion that she had gotten pregnant at his sister's wedding. she wasn't entirely sure but she knew it didn't matter. she almost couldn't wrap her mind around the fact that a matter of hours ago, the twins were still inside of her. now they were curled up against her chest and seemed to be sound asleep. she knew that their focus was going to be on their son and daughter. everything in their life was going to be different. she shook her head, doing her best to not move too much," i think glen the third is perfect and it does?" she had been worried they'd be stuck without a name for their little girl. so many people had given them their ideas and their thoughts on names. she nodded, smiling as she glanced down at them again. her hand reached for one of his slowly," we did," she agreed," our little miracles." her fingers linked with his as she squeezed his hand gently," are your parents still here? shouldn't it be time for them to meet their grand babies?"

I hope you're surprised but in the best possible way? Thank you, means a lot! And yeah, everyone from the Maverick crew is automatically an uncle or aunt. So, that obviously includes you, my man. I really hope so — it's a constant fear of mine that I'm going to fuck up somehow. While being with my niece and nephew is great and fun, I was always giving them back to my sister at the end of the day....now? I'm the one staying with the babies. Glen III and Charlotte, Charlie for short.
What? You should see the surprised look on my face right now. But that's amazing, man. Congratulations. And an uncle? Really? I'm honoured. You two will be amazing parents. Everyone can see how good you are with your niece and nephew. What are their names?
