Just wanted to post a huge, heartfelt thank you to everyone here. Honestly, I don't really have anyone in my offline life to geek out about anime with, or to ask "hey, is this chapter any good?". It can feel a little isolating sometimes. So when you guys read, reblog, and comment on my writing... it's more than just a notification. Hange ambushed me outside the mess hall today. They smelled like burnt sugar and titan steam, which is an improvement, I guess. They were talking so fast I could barely follow—something about a new restraining device and needing my "calm, stabilizing presence." My presence. As if I'm some good luck charm they can bring along to their next suicide mission. They were waving their arms, nearly took out one of the new recruits. There are dark circles under their eyes. Deeper than usual. They run on nothing but black tea and obsession. It’s the same fire Erwin had, that all-consuming need to know, even if it costs everything. It's reckless. It's stupid. And it's the only reason we've ever gotten anywhere. I told them to get some sleep. They just laughed. Tch. Damn fool.
