Smile For Me Secret Santa 2019

Welcome to the 2019 Smile For Me Secret Santa!

What is a Secret Santa? How does this work?

In a Secret Santa, one participant (the gifter) receives a random assignment for another person (the giftee). The gifter will be tasked with creating content based on the giftee’s requests, and will keep their identity as the gifter secret until they post their finished product.

Smile For Me Week 2019 Summary

Hey, all! This is Mod Dallas, and I wanted to give a bit of a summary to all of you for how the event went.

Firstly, thank you all for such a lovely week! This event had a total of 41 people participating and making content, with 160 total posts made by them! Thank you! I’m blown away by all of the fantastic content that was made, and it’s been wonderful seeing everyone’s participation. 

If your content wasn’t reblogged, that wasn’t on purpose. Please message this blog with any content that was missed!

Secondly, this event will be happening next year! I’m planning on running the event again next year, but at another time, probably during the summer. I’m tentatively planning on holding the event during the first full week of July, the 5th to 11th, though that date may change as the year progresses. Alongside the date change, I will be looking for assistance in writing image descriptions and transcripts next year. If you’re interested in writing a few image descriptions for this event next year, please send me a message. I had assistance this year from the lovely @krittles, @official-sans-undertale, and @gaymergf.

Thirdly, this event will also be held on Twitter next year! The twitter is @/smileformeweek (linked here), and will be hosted at the same time as the event on Tumblr.

Shutterbug - A Smile For Me Fanfiction

Flower Kid shuffled through the Polaroids on Kamal’s bedroom floor, laying them out for their album. Kamal watched, recognizing plenty of faces in the photos. There was Marv with his most recent catch, a shimmering silver fish. And there was Millie and Tim Tam and Putunia, all striking superhero poses. Martin and Parsley seemed to have reconciled, judging by the rings on their left hands. He smiled, feeling comforted by all these slices of everyone else’s lives.

Flower Kid hesitated over one of the Polaroids. At first, Kamal though it was just a black void. But no, the photo wasn’t entirely black. There was some red around the edges, but he couldn’t quite make out what the Polaroid’s subject was.
