@gnxyongsik
The night was late and Seongmin was sprawled out on his couch in the living room. A romantic comedy flickered across the screen, keeping the man’s attention. Every now and then he burst out into a fit of laughter or a startled, scandalized gasp. His cat, Eri, lay curled on his chest fast asleep. Seongmin was enjoying his day off comfortably, most of the day spent at home, only leaving to stock up on groceries and snacks. He had decided he was in dire need of a movie day, an amusing one, to ease the stress that made his shoulders sag and his under-eyes bruised.
Seongmin was taking a large bite of his fried chicken when his phone rang, interrupting the intense confession scene in front of him. Eri’s tail flicked, but she didn’t move as Seongmin reached carefully over her to grab his cellphone off the coffee table. “Hello, this is Seongmin,” he greeted. “Hello?” he asked again when no reply came. He could hear noise in the background. Seongmin pulled the phone away from his ear and read the caller ID, put it back to his ear. “Yongsik? Is everything alright? Why are you calling this late?”

gnxhyunki:
Hyunki would be lying if he said that being a personal bodyguard wasn’t exhausting at times, because it really was, though he still enjoyed his job probably more than he really should. He knew of a few other personal bodyguards who would often complain about whichever royal family member they were tasked to look after, though for him he never once really had any sort of complaint. It was something that he had worked hard for after all and he had known exactly what he was getting himself into when he even applied to do such a job. One complaint he did have however was the fact that he had to constantly wear a suit when he was on duty, preferring more comfortable clothing such as sweaters and jeans, but then again he also knew of this specific dress code when he applied for the job as well.
One person he knew of that shared some similarities with him was Seongmin, someone he had become friends with over the past couple years after the two had met. Usually Hyunki wouldn’t easily befriend someone, however seeing as the other male shared a few common interests it made it a little easier to actually get along with the other. He makes his way towards the usual meeting spot that the two had, dressed a lot more comfortably than he usually was. Hyunki opens the door once he reaches the cafe and walks in, sharing his usual slight smile once he spots Seongmin. He listens to the other and gives a small nod in response. “Alright just give me a moment to order. Also you don’t have to apologize, I would have done the same.” He then makes his way over to the counter, ordering his usual plain black coffee, taking the cup and returning to the table where his friend was waiting for him. Hyunki sits down in the seat across from the other and lets out a heavy sigh. “So, how have you been since the last time we actually met up?”
Seongmin waited for Hyunki to sit down with his drink before shrugging. “I’d say you’re right since that’s exactly what you would do, but I fear that if I don’t apologize I’ll find my mother hovering over me with a book on etiquette.” Seongmin wished he was joking, but while his family had always been kind and caring, there was absolutely no room for lack of decorum. That included in his private life. It had been ingrained in the man and even in Hyunki’s—a long time friend’s—company, he couldn’t drop the formalities.
He took a large sip from his mug, stalling until he couldn’t any longer. Seongmin sighed and looked over at Hyunk with just a hint of his own exasperation showing through to let the other know just “how it was going” in the Jeong household. “Their Highnesses have me booked with endless meetings, council sessions, and interviews with media and business associates of theirs. That’s not really a problem, as you know, but,” he shook his head and closed his eyes, “they keep throwing on seemingly mundane tasks that other employees would be as equally fit to handle. Not to mention, it’s on top of overseeing the Jeong children are conducting their duties and responsibilities.” Seongmin opened his eyes and pulled the hot mug closer to his chest. “You could say I have my hands a bit full.”
Seongmin snapped himself out of his complaining, realizing he may have overshared. He must be more stressed than he realized. He offered a smile at his friend and asked, “How about you? I hope your guard duties have been far less strenuous.”

@gnxhyunki
The morning air was frigid thanks to the autumn winds blowing through the streets. Seongmin huddled deeper into his wool jacket, making quick strides to the usual coffee shop where he and Hyunki meet on their days off. It sat on a corner of a rather quiet street, away form the hustle and bustle of Seoul’s business and entertainment districts. Seongmin opened the door and quickly stepped through, sighing in relief at the warmth that surrounded him. He walked briskly to the counter, placed his usual order—caramel macchiato with plenty of cream and sugar—and picked a table near the window that was away from other patrons.
While Seongmin waited for his friend and colleague to come, he reflected on all the paperwork, meetings, and phone calls he had yet to complete. It left him with an exhausted feeling, making him run a hand through his dark hair. He fiddled with his earrings as he sighed, looking out the window. Even on his day off, Seongmin couldn’t stop himself from thinking about his work. With a shake of his head and a soft laugh directed at himself, Seongmin pulled himself from his thoughts. He turned his head at the sound of the entrance door opening and smiled when his eyes met Hyunki’s. “Hey. I already paid for your drink so order whatever you want. Sorry I didn’t wait. I really needed the caffeine today.”

Intro to Seongmin
Hello! My name’s Beck (26, est, she/her), and I come with my hardworking, but reserved muse, Hyun Seongmin! Congrats to Goong for opening today! I’m very excited to plot with all of you and I hope you’ll enjoy my muse as much as i do \OJO/ If you’re interested in plotting, the easiest way to reach me is my discord GalaxyGal#7398 but tumblr im is fine too, though I might take a bit longer getting back to you, though not by much. Forgive me in advance! Okay! So without further ado, let me introduce you to Seongmin!
Name: Hyun Seongmin
Age: 27
Occupation: Jeong Family Royal Advisor
Acceptance | Bio | Profile | Wanted Connections
BG:
From a prestigious family of political figures and law enforcement who all now work for different branches of the royal family at different levels. (His parents work under the King and Queen while his siblings work for their daughters’ families in some capacity)
Seongmin is the “most successful” of the Hyun children as he is the only one who took a high position as a royal advisor to the Jeong branch of the family. And while he’s not fond of them, he does his utmost to be the best caretaker advisor to them. (He’s not fond of them to say the least)
Was top of his class and highly sought after for his many skills (social, political, and economic), but took on the Jeong’s advisor role in the hopes of making a difference for the better as a voice of reason for the royal family.
He is not loyal to the family, but to the country and is clear about this to anybody who asks. He’s garnered respect for his ability to remain neutral and capable, though secretly he does not see any of Jeongs (or the other children from the other branches) as fit for the throne as of yet. He’s heard rumors of another candidate to the throne and is curious to see if this person might be the ruler he believes the country needs.
He’s always putting country and duty before himself which means he forgets to put himself first when it matters. He’s stressed, but never one to show it and determined to maintain his facade.
It’s only when he’s not working that his true colors show: someone quick to laugh and joke, listen, explore, spend time with his cat, and watch cheesy romcoms and action flicks as a way to escape the heavy responsibilities of his career life.
He’s reserved and shy most of the time, but when on duty or when the situation calls for it, Seongmin is very capable of socializing, charming, and forming bonds and connections. He does this often for his duties and less so for outside of it, but when he does get close, his loyalty and affection is something to behold.
Fun Facts! He’s fluent in three languages and proficient in two! He’s been studying since he was a child. His favorite subjects were history and languages. He has a cat named Eridanus (Eri) named after his favorite constellation.
He’s sociable, kind, hardworking, and loyal (when it’s earned), but that doesn’t mean he makes friends easily. He tends to keep people at a distance due to his focus being on his work, but also because he simply doesn’t know how to open up, given that most of his time was spent on academics and his lofty goals of becoming part of the royal family’s counsel. Now he’s just trying to breathe when the day is done and hope he can get through the next without glaring at the Jeong children for causing him unnecessary trouble.
