Elijah wrapped one arm around her waist holding her close to him, his hand snaking up the back of her shirt against the soft, thin skin along her spine. It wasn't so much that he was teasing, but more that he was preparing himself. He had, after all, never turned anyone before. He knew how it worked, seen it in action before. But, actually doing it felt like a completely different anxiety.
Was that the way his own creator felt? Did she run because she was afraid to actually commit? Maybe - he had been her first as well. It was a thought that would plague his mind until he got that answer.
His eyes refocused on Kat's as she asked if it would hurt. He could only hum, returning the kisses along her jawline to her ear, "Yes," he said softly, "But, I've got you. I promise."
He moved along to her neck, searching for the optimal spot, hesitating a moment longer. He closed his eyes, but in the moment he only could return to that night in the barn. It had been silent except for --
I am sorry.
Elijah had started to open his mouth, but snapped it shut again, leaning his forehead against her skin instead.
That look. Oh there was little else that thrilled her like that predatory look that simmered in those wild eyes when he crawled up her form. Every time he graced her with this sight her heart would thunder and her mind would fog. He was preternaturally beautiful; savagely magnetic. But more than the look of him - More than the pet name that he knew stroked her mind was the word “Us” It was an art the way he pressed every button of hers. He was masterful in the way he seduced her senses but it was the promise in that one word that silenced every other concern that flirted with her anxieties. Even so there was a question that lingered. “Will it hurt?” The inquiry was a whisper on the lips that kissed a slow line up his jaw, her body arching into him with anticipation for more of his touch.

That answer was exactly what he needed and wanted. As long as she was by his side, Elijah knew he could face anything. He truly didn't know what to expect when he found his creator. She could try to kill him on the spot, though he was sure she was more likely to run... And all of that was assuming she was even still alive or on the same continent. Traveling the world looking for her was a different venture, but not one he was prepared to take on.
He just felt like she was still here, still close somehow. And yet... So far.
Elijah pushed the thought from his mind, refocusing on the woman before him. The one that actually mattered and actually cared about his well-being. With a smirk, he lifted her up just enough to shift around and lay her back on the couch. He hovered over her, looking her over with clear intention and lust in his eyes.
"Thank you, Kitten," he teased her again with the name, leaning closer to her face, "For now, let's get back to us..."

Katherine’s legs wrapped around Elijah, crossing easily at the ankles as the oversized T-shirt shed been sporting through the house had room enough to easily scrunch at her thighs and then some. “I’ll be sure to remind you regularly- Hell I’ll sing it to you~” As delighted as she’d been to hear of his desires to keep her near, it was the thought of him letting her let go if that’s what she’d chosen that brought a crease back to her brow. “I . . . I couldn’t be so selfless with you.” She admitted, head shaking as she chewed her lip. What was that in him that allowed him to let go so easily? Did that come with watching the cycles of life around him begin and end over and over again? Was it a callousness that settled in? Was it a kindness to let go without scratching clawing and bargaining with everything one has to offer? Was she cruel by comparison for the damage to be had in her own inability to let go of most things. Her frown only progressed as the thought of him experiencing all of this with no comfort. Nobody familiar. “No. I couldn’t let you go even for your own sake.” There was nothing romantic about the statement. It was truly the first time she’d had to consider the violence of her love. Sure she’d been accustomed to allowing others to let go of her. It made sense. Even in her hiding here she forced the hands of the only family she had left to learn a life without her. But to ask her to let go? She watched him in quiet contemplation as he spoke, a hand moving to brush her thumb over the high peak of his cheek. “Now.” She replied cooly, no hesitation in her tone. “I have no idea how many minutes, hours, or days I may have. And I’ll be damned if I’m going to let you go on alone any longer.” That last bit about damnation was a bit of a joke for herself considering who she knew would be waiting for her on the other side but nevertheless, she was solid in her decision. “Besides. Who’s going to be there to make you twitch— In both the good and bad way.”
Her smile bowed solicitously as she shifted her weight forward in his lap with knowing intention only to follow the tease with a pinch of his cheek. “Name your request of me. Tu sei la mia luce. I have what I need.” @godccmplex || ( X)

There was just something so endearing about someone not willing to let him go. Maybe it stemmed from all the people who were always willing to leave him behind. So few stayed consistent, one being the very spirit of a cat. Elijah's desire for companionship was always complicated. He didn't want to be alone, but at the same time found it very difficult to fully trust anyone. Kat is the closest anyone has come, but there are still some habits that die hard.
The only difference being that he was ready to let go and trust her. At least that was what he told himself.
Her teasing was certainly not enough to distract from what she was asking of him, and he had to agree she was right. If they waited too long it could end up being too late. That alone was enough to frighten Elijah. He couldn't lose her now when she was so ready to bond herself to him for the rest of their existence.
"Okay, okay. Hold on just a moment then. Don't be too eager for death," he just chuckled, shaking his head a little, "All I ask... Is that you be my anchor," his expression lowered to a more serious one, "When we find her, my creator, I... I don't really know what to expect. I just need you to not let me do something rash."
He raised a hand to brush against her cheek, snaking to the back of her head to lean close, meeting her in the middle, so close to a kiss, "Don't let me do something I may regret. I'm counting on you." Before letting her answer he just pressed his lips to hers.

Anti-revenge narrative this, anti-revenge narrative that, I personally think that Inigo Montoya had the right idea when he stabbed Count Rugen in the gut and said "I want my father back, you son of a bitch"

Shifting his hands down to rest around her waist as she climbed into his lap, Elijah relaxed. No matter how temporary their situation had seemed before, the fact that she was more than willing to follow him through the night was a major relief. His existence had been so painfully lonely up until that point, with no one else really taking to his company quite like she has. With Kat by his side, anything was possible.
He wrapped his arms around her, holding her close to his chest as he craned his neck up towards her, "It helps to hear it sometimes," he said with a light laugh, "I was ready to accept whatever life you wanted. No matter what, I would still be here. Wherever you go, I will never be far behind."
The same would always be true even if they had a terrible fight. Even if he left, he would not go further than a block away. Somewhere he could still hear her, but just close enough to not be seen. If only to prove a point. The thought of having to return to the nights alone was worse than any argument.
"I leave the decision of when to you," his hand rubbed along her back, "When you are ready to leave the light behind. But, you have to make me one promise."
The combination of his gentle weight pressing into her touch, and such a sweet declaration made her knees weak and her head swim through a haze of thick affection that lidded her eyes. Her smile trembled into something boarding drunk and awestruck as her body shifted to press her forehead to his. As thoroughly as her heart thrilled under his words, the promise seemed unfathomable given her painfully temporary state. But it was true to a degree for him, wasn’t it? Did everyone he remembered not live on forever in his memory so long as he carried them with him? She drew nearer to him yet, her eyes fluttering closed as she basked in his nearness as a sort of contemplative silence washed over him. She knew better than to pry when his expression took on such a serious state. And if this version of forever was all he was willing to offer then it would be good enough for her. He was the closest thing she had found to someone to run towards in this life. Always she’d felt something was missing something or someone wasn’t there. No matter what or who she tried to stuff that void with. It never stuck. With him near in whatever capacity he’d allow- at least she wouldn’t die alone. Empty handed. There’d be someone to hold her. Someone to grieve her. In all actuality she did have a piper to pay anyway. With her body now too weak to complete her part of the bargain she’d made. . . Her fate was sealed. There would be no pearly gates or the Eden that lay in between. Katherine was startled gently from her own quite musing as Elijah’s hands cupped her face, the intense shift in his demeanor shifting hers on her own features into a mask of confusion. But with every declaration her expression shifted, first was the raise of her brows , disbelief evident till an avalanche of infectious delight lit her eyes and split her expression with a toothy smile. “Elijah- I could never consider forever if I thought for a second I would have to spend any of it alone. I can barely stand what little time I’ve had and the loneliness that came with it.” Her giddiness bubbled into a chuckle, her own hands reaching for his shoulders to help her slide onto the safety of his lap. “I told you a very long time ago. Don’t go anywhere where I can’t follow— And whether that be into the next century or into the void itself, I’ll be right behind you. Dont you know that by now, Il Mio Dolce Mostriciattolo."

"Target Audience" made Elijah chuckle. Did she really think he didn't understand what she was trying to tell him? That he might be so oblivious to not recognize the sudden ability for her to write a love song was because of him? He'd had his doubts, sure, even wondered if this was even a good idea to pursue. But, here they both were sat in the dark with the truth laid bare before them.
He leaned close to her and in one quick, gentle movement, lifted her chin up towards and pressed a long, loving kiss into her lips. He lingered there, as if trying to dispel any thought she had that he might not have understood, the smile clear on his face.
He broke away, but kept close to her face as his smile widened, "I love you too, Kitten." He hummed the words, leaving them to hang between them. What's said was said, done is done. There was no turning back now.
The light that Elijah introduced was so tiny and yet it could have been just as bright as any spotlight she’d ever encountered. At least that felt the case due to its neat role in preventing her from hiding from his reaction. Katherine’s eyes scoured his expression, her own lips and teeth mirroring the smile on his face but the smile didn’t seem to budge the anxiety in her eyes or the furrow in her brow; resulting in something that looked more akin to a grimace than a smile.
She visibly sank where she sat. Her chin coming to rest at the top curve of her guitar, her fingers on her right hand moving to fiddle with the rubber at the bridge, her other and compressing the A on the E string over and over resulting in a slow and muted “eooo eooo” sound.
He thanked her, acknowledged the fact that she was serenading him- as corny as it was it was factual. But did he get it? At least this reaction wasn’t the “ohhhh. Oh no thank you.” She’d created in her mind. Nor was it the “Augh! Get it off the rug!” That she’d also pictured. He was polite. He was gentle, he was- Oh. Her expression puckered, a laugh cutting the silence she previously sat in as her mind began its slow retreat.
“I just thought maybe you could- Give me some critiques. . . What you liked. I hate you didn’t like. . . If you uh- understood the target audience.” The background hum of “eooo eooo” intensified.

His eyes followed her as she came closer to him. He could hear it again, the way her heart seemed to skip when she was around him. But this time was different. The way she hesitated before walking in, the way her words seemed to mask a deeper meaning.
He didn't say anything, though, letting her try and work up the confidence for whatever she was doing. As she started to sing, he realized what it was she was showing him. He knew about her songwriting, and the struggle she'd been having to write a new song. But this was new, this was raw. And it was endearing.
Elijah shifted, moving onto his knees to rest in front of her. He let her finish the song before reaching to grab his phone beside him. He turned the flashlight on and sat it between them on the floor, illuminating the small space enough so she could see his face. And he smiled a gentle smile.
"That was beautiful," he said simply, smiling a bit wider, "I don't think I've heard you sing so... Mmm.. real. So, genuinely. But here you are, serenading me in my room."
He raised himself up a bit, leaning over to level his face closer to hers, "I love it, thank you," his words hummed softly.

His eyes studied hers, searching for any hint of a lie or misleading. But of course there was none. There was just hesitance of holding on to something so fragile as love. He softened, tilting his head to lean into her hand. Fragile, maybe, but that was what made it so much sweeter.
"I don't need that bond to find what forever really is. It's right here," he spoke soft and sweet, every words intention clear as could be, "No matter how long forever really is... It's with you, Kat."
But what if it really went on into eternity? Could they wander the night together? Elijah would no longer have to be alone, and neither would Kat really. They might have been born centuries apart, but they were still together in that moment.
"Life finds a way," he hummed quietly, as if answering his own thoughts. He took his hands back and cupped her face, leaning closer, his expression more serious now, "I will not abandon you. You will never be made to feel alone ever again. No matter what... I will be by your side," he hesitated himself, cracking a little half smile, "Is that what you want? To find forever - together?"
