"Continual improvement is an unending journey." -Lloyd Dobyns
This week, we did not conduct an online class for this subject, but we continued working diligently on our Milestone 3. The complexity of this milestone presented significant challenges, which contributed to our inability to submit it by last week's deadline. Additionally, the workload from other subjects, including numerous quizzes and activities, made it difficult for us to focus solely on Milestone 3.
Despite these obstacles, the dedication and willpower of my group members have been exceptional. Each member contributed their time and effort, even amidst the demanding schedules of other subjects. Our collective perseverance and determination enabled us to overcome the difficulties associated with Milestone 3.
As a result of this unwavering commitment, we successfully completed Milestone 3. This accomplishment is a testament to our group's resilience and ability to work collaboratively under pressure. We are proud of our achievement and grateful for the teamwork that made it possible.

"Focus on the Journey, not the Destination." -Chris Hadfield
For week 5, we delve into the development and integration of smoke filtering devices for jeepneys, aiming to tackle urban air pollution and enhance public health. We introduce the pervasive issue of air pollution from traditional jeepneys, advocating for the implementation of smoke filtering devices. We outline our study's objectives, scope, and significance, laying the groundwork for our exploration.
We review pertinent literature on urban air pollution, transportation emissions' health impacts, existing emission reduction technologies, and the potential of smoke filtering devices in mitigating jeepney emissions.
We summarize key findings and emphasize the importance of integrating smoke filtering technology into jeepneys to combat air pollution, improve public health, and foster sustainable urban development. We outline directions for future research and identify challenges to address for further technology advancement.
WEEK 5 SELF-ASSESSMENT
The recent week gave me quite an epiphany and rethought the validity of extending our reach to our newly formed, non-target groups as well. I find myself interacting with experts in the field, the jeepney operators themselves, and a range of other stakeholders that have much to contribute to the knowledge base through their varying viewpoints. Now, I am positive that innovating is certainly more involved that staying inside the predicted rails with people we feel comfortable with.
Teamwork, mostly cooperating with my group mates and an instructor has brought me the knowledge that grouping customers is far lesser than being used to as the basis of the marketing strategy.
For next, our group is dedicated to exploring deeper into the consumer's perspective. We understand that this is critical for ensuring that our solution closely matches their needs and preferences. Through continual cooperation and study, we hope to improve our understanding and create a product that truly resonates with our target audience. Overall, this week's activities have paved the way for a more informed and planned approach to our project.

Examining Empathy: Week 4 Discoveries and Climate Action Transition
Weekly Blog #4 March 10, 2024
"The only limit to our realization of tomorrow will be our doubts of today." - Franklin D. Roosevelt
In our fourth week, we delved deeply into mutual understanding through the Empathy Map game. By sharing our personal experiences and emotions, we gained insights from various viewpoints and enhanced our self-awareness. Adding to the enjoyment, we crafted a character named "Joshua" based on one of our team members. Additionally, we had a weekly progress report accessible online. Our group made the decision to make an important shift during this period. We turned our attention to SDG number 13, which is about climate action, rather than Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) number 6, which is about clean water and sanitation. We all felt that action and pollution reduction were the most important ways to address climate change right now.
We discussed suggesting smoke filtration devices that might be mounted on car mufflers as part of our new focus. But before we jumped into options, we wanted to maintain our attention on the issue. In order to successfully address the issue, we searched to determine where we might make a difference and what we could provide.
WEEK 4 SELF-ASSESSMENT
It has been enlightening this week. With the Empathy Map game, my team and I were able to connect on a deep level despite our differences, showcasing the importance of empathy in understanding other people's viewpoints. I've discovered that it's necessary to comprehend the wants and worries of our clients in order to make sure our solutions speak to them.
This shift towards climate action emphasized the importance of adaptability. Overall, I'm proud of our progress and excited for the positive impact in the future.

Gather Insights into Customers' Needs through the MOM Test.
Weekly Blog #3 March 3, 2024
Last week, our team learned about our potential customers by asking them questions, following 'the mom test' principles. We were surprised by how much we discovered and what we learned along the way. As part of our project focusing on Sustainable Development Goal 6, which deals with water and sanitation issues, we started talking to people to understand what they think. We wanted to know about the water in their homes and any problems they've had with it.
During this process, we learned an important lesson, when we ask good questions, we understand the problem better. We saw that looking at different viewpoints helps us understand all parts of a situation, making our understanding of the problem much better. We also had to do Game 3, where we worked together to imagine the future, plan carefully, and gather information. Thinking about what we want things to be like in the future helps us come up with new ideas, and it makes us ask specific questions. We looked at important ideas to make sure we understood solutions well, thinking about all the parts and challenges.
WEEK 3 SELF-ASSESSMENT
The weekly game and the "Who/What/When Matrix" help us take responsibility, focusing on people to reach our goals. Basically, these exercises show how being creative, planning smartly, and taking responsibility can help us succeed in the long run.

GAME 2: Learning New Insights with the Fishbowl Game
Weekly blog- February 25, 2024
As we move into the second week of our technopreneurship class, we got to try out an exciting activity called the Fishbowl game.
The Fishbowl game is a team talk game where my groupmates and I have open chats. We talk about questions related to the 7P's framework, which helps us understand different aspects of a business idea.
During the Fishbowl game, we discuss things like why we're doing it, what we're making, who's involved, how we're doing it, getting ready, real-life issues, and problems to watch out for.
As participants, we discuss the relevance of sustainable development goals, share insights on challenges and opportunities, and brainstorm innovative solutions into advance sustainable development.
One product that stood out during our discussion was the solar lamp. We discussed how solar lamps harness the power of the sun to provide clean and renewable energy for lighting, especially in off-grid or resource-constrained areas. The simplicity and effectiveness of solar lamps make them a powerful tool for addressing energy poverty and promoting sustainable development.
WEEK 2: SELF ASSESSMENT
Source: Career Blog, Self-assessment
I've come to understand the importance of time management and successful social skills this past week. Making good use of our time allows us to complete work quickly and on time, without feeling pressured. Additionally, socializing involves more than just casual conversation—it also entails paying attention and taking notes. By being attentive to people's cues and body language, we can better understand their viewpoints and develop closer bonds.
These observations are extremely helpful for both our personal and professional technopreneurship endeavors. In the realm of entrepreneurship, we will encounter a wide range of people with distinct backgrounds and character traits. Mastering time management skills enables us to successfully handle a variety of duties, while developing our social skills allows us to navigate different social situations and effectively communicate with others.

GAME 1: Exploring Ways to Address Global Objectives through Narrative Engagement and SMART Group Collaboration.
Weekly blog 1-February 18, 2024
Welcome, fellow innovators and advocates for sustainable development! I'm delighted to embark on this journey with you as we delve into the realm of techno-preneurship. My name is Godwin Francis L. Magbaril, and I'm thrilled to be your guide through this exploration.
youtube
Sustainable goal number six says it's really important to stop bad stuff from getting in our water. As a mechanical engineering student, I know it's up to us to fix this problem. We believe using filters can clean up water and make it safe to drink and use.
Our group has been thinking a lot about techno-preneurship, which is about using technology to create new businesses or products that solve problems. We noticed that not everyone has easy access to clean water, so we came up with an idea related to making water filtering systems.
WEEK 1: SELF ASSESSMENT
Source:https://cdnl.iconscout.com/lottie/premium/preview-watermark/employee-assessment-8024720-6415273.mp4
During our first week of sharing stories, I learned something about me and my friends. We all knew about water problems we understood. It made me see that I can help people by coming up with new ways to fix problems, like the water ones we talked about. But, I also noticed sometimes we don't say our ideas because we're worried about what others might say. I think if we just listen to each other without being mean, we could share more ideas and help each other more.
I believe we can do a lot more for our team if we all feel comfortable sharing our ideas. Some of my friends in the group feel the same. We shouldn't be mean to others without knowing why they think that way. If we can learn to listen and help each other, we can really help fix problems like not having enough water and making it dirty.
Last week, my group and I participated in both the Innovation Index test and a personality assessment. The results indicate that my personality falls under the category of "Defender." I've learned based on the result, that being a "Defender" means I embody qualities such as reliability, compassion, and diligence. I play vital roles in my communities, providing support, stability, and care to those around me.
Also, my Innovation mindset level was assessed to be 82.06 out of 100%. This means I have a strong inclination towards innovative thinking and problem-solving. I thrive on exploring new ideas, finding creative solutions, and embracing change. With my high Innovation mindset level, I am equipped to approach challenges with a fresh perspective and contribute novel ideas to projects and initiatives.
So, that's a quick look at our meeting where we, as mechanical engineering students, worked together to solve big world problems. It's been exciting, with lots of ideas, teamwork, and a strong desire to make things better. I'm really excited to see what happens next!
Thanks for being part of this journey with me. Let's keep coming up with new ideas and aiming high until we meet again!
