Meme Bulletin #1 🧡🩶🩵
We apologise for the silent air around our blog. Things have been rather busy here at the station. However.. it appears that someone has captured some shenanigans amongst the Johto Subway Trio which, some may say, wasn’t supposed to have been seen by the public…
…or maybe it should! Watch out below, and leave us your thoughts on the matter between these three friends!

Goldenrod Station's Advice of the Day #1
Hello to everyone! We have been asked to provide battling advice to those on their journeys, and what better way than to offer assistance to those who are currently—or are planning on—tackling Johto's Gym Circuit! We'll post tips and suggest ideas, in hopes that it helps those who may find themselves in a slump. Remember, the roadblocks on your tracks are never permanent. A new path forward is always available to those who push on. Now then, without further ado, let us dive right in to the meat of our advice. Feel free to add your own suggestions, tips, and/or tricks in the comments below. The more the merrier! All aboard!
Gym Circuit - Falkner (Violet City)
As you begin your attempt against Johto's Gym Circuit, the very first gym you will encounter is the Flying Gym of Violet City, home of the Zephyr Badge and Gym Leader Falkner. Depending on how he's feeling, he may either use lower levelled, or higher levelled Pokémon, but his team consists of the same two bird Pokémon. A Pidgey, and a Pidgeotto as his ace. The highest level he will use is lvl. 13. He may even feel a bit cheeky when using his lower levelled team, as he has a special move up his sleeve that takes many by surprise, in order to even out the playing field due to the level difference.
Tip 1: Type Advantage
It may be a no brainer that type advantage will help you greatly in dealing with any and all Trainers out there on your journey. Pokémon that are Electric, Rock, or Ice-Type (or Pokémon that are capable of learning a move of any of those three types) will serve you well in overcoming Falkner. Dark Cave on Route 31 provides Trainers with Geodude as a lovely encounter, and at lvl. 11, it learns the super-effective move, Rock Throw. Dunsparce is another great option as it learns the move Rollout, however, it doesn’t gain access to this until it reaches lvl. 17. Route 32 also provides a great counter to Falkner, by giving Trainers the ability to catch a Mareep, who learns ThunderShock at lvl. 10.
Tip 2: Move Use
If the above tip doesn't apply to you, or you find yourself in a situation where you've lost that type advantage, then do not fret. Using stat raising moves on yourself, stat lowering moves on your opponent, status condition moves, and/or healing moves are all valid options. There are an abundant amount of options that you as a Trainer have access to this early on, and those moves should not be overlooked. Teambuilding is essential when wishing to reach the very top, and not everything has to do damage.
Tip 3: Items
Items are your best friend! As you journey around the region, there will most likely than not, be various of items one can find. It may be a Potion you find in the grass, an extra Pokéball behind a rock, or it may even be a held item that provides some sort of boost in strength (or defenses). Take a peek wherever you feel may be hiding a little extra something, or, stop by your local PokéMart and/or Department Store to pick up some items to assist you. Best to be a little over prepared, than underprepared, wouldn’t you say?
We hope that these posts help those who may feel as if their tracks had run into a roadblock. Battle hard, train plenty, and enjoy the adventure!
Cheering everyone on,
Goldenrod Staff 🚅 🧡🩶🩵
