Be honest do you think that actually learning things in high school is important
yeah dude or else youre gonna be that coworker people post about
#living in the us I’ve become abundantly aware that an uneducated population is much easier to control under an authoritarian government#don’t get me wrong. educated people are in no way immune to cults or grifters#but people who are uncurious or don’t value education or maybe even resent it are the bread and butter of facism#our public education has never been great but literacy is falling among young people#book bans are allowed when the groups complaining don’t even live in the state of the libraries they’re targeting#and the education systems we have/had in place are being actively attacked#so yeah the stuff you learn in high school (even the stuff you don’t think matters at the time) is actually really important

Trying to get my husband to take ensign to the library because their books are overdue is like pulling teeth. "I'll try to get to it." Fucking go to the fucking library. It takes ten minutes to return the books and game and tell them the overdue book isn't with us so they can search the library for it. You drive a block by it coming home. Ensign doesn't have to even be there for returning books, they can get new ones out later
