WHAT SHOULD BE NEXT FOR MADDY IN EUPHORIA?

☆ 𝐀 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐅𝐀𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐀𝐍𝐀𝐋𝐘𝐒𝐈𝐒 ☆

★ Maddy is my favorite character played by the glamorous 𝐀𝐥𝐞𝐱𝐚 𝐃𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐞☆ in the hit HBO Series, “Euphoria” Directed and Written by Sam Levinson. Upon seeing the recent rumors surrounding season 3 and Maddy’s character I can’t lie it has me worried. After an unsatisfying, albeit entertaining, season 2 I often wonder how Euphoria is going to end. The rumors surrounding Maddy’s character had me confused, scared and skeptical. The word being that she now works at a strip club (assumably as a stripper) and a sugar baby to a man we have yet to be introduced to. Although Maddy is one of the most popular characters in this show she’s often the most misunderstood and generalized. So, I decided to look back on her throughout the show and create a deep dive of not only her character but her fashion as well. People often underestimate how much fashion in films and media reflect not only the character but their emotional state, personal beliefs, and help tell a story. I’m gonna use what previous seasons have told us about Maddy to make my own personal predictions on her in Season 3.

Warning: Spoilers for Euphoria, mentions of Statutory R*pe, Abuse, Sex trafficking, and prostitution. +18 content, minors DNI ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆

𝐌𝐀𝐃𝐃𝐘 𝐒𝟏

"Maddy knew who she was at a very early age" - Rue

★ 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐧 we first meet Maddy, she's established as the more confident character between everyone in the main cast. Before her mother made her quit, as a child she was a shining star in the pageant community. She knew way back then that confidence was the key to everything. Off first impressions she seems to be the stereotypical popular high school cheerleader with the star quarterback boyfriend (Nate Jacobs). Even though Maddy may seem like this stereotype at first she has more nuance than most popular girls in media. Her friend group is diverse and rooted in real childhood friendships. She isn't rich or wealthy just middle class. Even though she can be brash and make questionable moral choices she's also a sweetheart, gives advice (albeit blunt) to her friends a lot and is loyal which makes her feel more like an actual person. Throughout the show we get to learn that Maddy is someone who didn't want the life her parents had. Growing up with a drunk of a father who cant keep a job and a mother who worked as an esthetician. It's reveled through Maddy's character that she didn't desire to do anything or even have a career.

★ 𝐒𝐞𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐲 Maddy cared more about finding and falling in love with the perfect guy who fits her ideal future and ideal relationship. these themes are what her character focuses on the most. We can infer from her parent's relationship that Maddy wants to insure a future where she doesn't have to do anything (unlike her mother who does the work) and whoever she marries will love her, take care of her, and will be successful. For her household is the opposite. She is also someone who likes to feel control/ power over others, especially men. Her issue is her thinking she has the power in certain situations when she clearly doesn't. It gives her character a bit of naiveté. For ex: When she was 14 she had sex for the first time with a grown made, which is statutory rape. but based off Rue's words Maddy thinks she was the one in control. Key word thinks.

★ 𝐌𝐚𝐝𝐝𝐲 will claim to love Nate and in her heart I believe she thinks she does but it’s very flawed and surface level. It’s also to note that Maddy would cheat on Nate all the time. Granted her excuse was that they were on a break and that he can be an asshole but it goes to show how unhealthy their connection is. During this season I believe it is so hard for Maddy to let go of Nate because:

𝐒𝐡𝐞 knows that Nate has a high likelihood of a successful and stable future. Nate's dad is very important in their community (he owns the building company that built most of their neighborhoods) and Nate would be the one who'd get the company when he's older. Not to mention he's also a quarterback with a promising career ahead if he chose to pursue that as well. He's the exact type of guy that could fit Maddy's ideal future since she at this moment doesn't desire to do anything.

𝐎𝐧𝐜𝐞 their relationship turns very abusive and toxic it's a battle between what Maddy wants: the perfect image, the potential future with Nate, and to not give up on someone who she loves. Vs what she knows she needs: To break up with him, move on, and set a path for a better future. She knows Nate brings out the worst in her and treats her like shit but despite her best interests she's stubborn and still loyal to him. Truly she wants their relationship to work.

★ 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 is where we see Maddy's fashion reflect her and her relationship. When she's dressing for Nate vs for herself. She also uses the way she dresses as revenge or as a power play.

★ 𝐁𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞 Maddy snoops through Nates phone, and sees some pretty explicit images that makes her question his sexuality, we see her in very girly and light clothing. Light purples, blues, and pinks. Flower and cherry prints as well. Maddy is intelligent; she knows that these color schemes are reflective of what Nate likes; Hyper feminine women. She makes herself the perfect looking girlfriend to fit the part and to please Nate. Along with this she also wears animal print, which is usually associated with promiscuous women in media. Maddy more uses sex like a power move like she does with other things. Imitating porn just to make Nate feel good about himself so in turn he'd take good care of her.

★ 𝐌𝐚𝐝𝐝𝐲 also wears matching sets a lot. The choice to put her in sets can show someone who wants to appear put together or even perfect. Her main color this season is purple. Usually used to show characters of power, royalty and wealth. In Maddy's case she uses her clothing and makeup as an amor and out of all the other characters she's the one preoccupied with image the most. Going to certain lengths to stay perceived in certain ways and to control her narrative. To stay in control. Hence her lying about being blackout drunk and her still trying to protect Nate after he assaults her.

★ 𝐀𝐭 the carnival and then on Maddy's fashion starts shifting. Looking more true to herself than for Nate. Cut outs and more revealing clothing that matches the confidence Maddy has. But also darker colors to show her resentment, anger, and sadness with her situation with Nate. Her iconic purple iamgia set being the most Maddy outfit this season has given us. Purple representing power, status, and royalty. But when Nate not only insults her by calling her a hooker, diminishing her confidence like she says he does, and then later assaults her for retaliating we see her wear a dark blue and black outfit. Completely covered and almost like she's a turtle who's hiding in a shell. Maddy's episode is the first we see her completely stripped of her armor (fashion and makeup) and we see how badly Nate affects her. Although Maddy is someone who strives for power and control she also wants to be loved. Nate gives her that love she wants in its own twisted way that beckons her to still try with him. Dressed in grey, black , and dark blue colors that are associated with Nate especially blue. We see a shot of her with no makeup covered in the fur jacket he gave her despite how impractical it is. Maddy is still clinging onto him despite how he hurts her.

★ 𝐇𝐞𝐫 fashion reverts back a bit when her and Nate get back together. During the halloween episode Maddy decides to dress up as Iris from "Taxi Driver" and Nate as a prisoner. Her costume is the most interesting choice because that character is a sex trafficked child prostitute. The character is manipulated by a pimp and drug dealer that prostitution is what she wants. This could be a call back to when she was 14 with the grown man. Where Maddy thinks she was the one in control but in reality she was not. In parallel to her relationship she's in a delusional and desperate state. Getting back with him even though everyone knows he assaulted her. Even lying for him and pinning it on Tyler, another man she used for sex to get back at Nate. (Which was also statutory because he was 22 and she was 17). Her Halloween costume also looks a bit cheap and childish (considering she's dressed as a child) which in turn makes Maddy look a bit ridiculous. Basically what her relationship with Nate has done; humiliate her. This is the last time we see Nate and Maddy as a couple going to a party together.

★ 𝐓𝐡𝐞 last outfit we see her in is another iconic fit for the winter formal. A black see-through glittery two piece set. This is the EP not only does ehe go to the formal with her friends but she finally decides to break up with Nate after trying to make each other jealous all night. Maddy's outfit being black and the veil that goes with her outfit can symbolize her attempt to bury her feelings for Nate. Mourning what their relationship used to be and the the future she wanted with him. Her state of mourning, attempt to get over her feelings, and eventual depression will be explored further in season 2.

𝐌𝐀𝐃𝐃𝐘 𝐒𝟐

"Don't worry, this is just the beginning" - Maddy

★ 𝐒𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧 2 Maddy is probably my favorite Maddy because of how much she matures. My main complaint for her character this season is her suddenly being violent. I understand she was aggressive when she was being held by police but in my opinion Maddy's thing was always in her ability to manipulate and run over others. Surely just because she had the confidence to. But for the sake of a (god awful) love triangle they decided to write her as someone with violent tendencies. Even though Maddy never really gave that to me. To each their own. Another complaint I have isn't necessarily about her character but about how she's treated in this show. The choice to put Maddy through these very traumatic experiences with next to no pay off always seemed extra cruel. Her only "revenge" is when she fights Cassie for what she did. Although entertaining I would much rather her character arc involve showing how much Maddy has matured and show us through her situation with Cassie. Or even showing remorse what how she helped incriminate Tyler. Throughout this whole season we deal with Maddy battling with her feelings towards Nate. The only reason she officially doesn't want anything to do with him is when he crossed her by sleeping with Cassie and then pointing a gun to her head for Jules's Disk. Which definitely in a way was her wake up call but there's nothing she gets this season that fully feels full circle to such a traumatic event. She might've fought Cassie but Nate is still the main issue and root source. We can only hope that she gets that in season 3.

★ 𝐎𝐧𝐞 thing I wish was fleshed out more was Maddy's decision to get a job and the relationship between her and Samatha, the woman she babysits for. Season 1 Maddy would much rather not do anything than have a job but we can deduce that she decides to get one because she doesn't have a boyfriend to "take care of her" anymore. And that she’s going through a transitional period. She might also feel the need to be more independent because of what she went through with Nate. Working for a woman like Samantha gives Maddy some hope. The opportunity to see what future she can have. This time period is definitely very confusing and unsure for her but we see by the end of the season that she's determined to make something of herself.

★ 𝐇𝐞𝐫 fashion this season was sleek and mature. I would say her new job is what inspired her to dress more this way by literally playing dress up in Samatha's closet. More form fitting clothing, less matching sets and more stylized outfits that reflect her personality more. Maddy still wears blue, one of Nates and Cassies colors. So it can show not only foreshadowing of the eventual betrayal but also how Nate is still on Maddy's mind. (when she plays in Samatha's closet she sends pics to Nate for ex) Her main color this season is Black. Like I mentioned before shows Maddy mourning the end of her relationship with Nate and eventually Cassie's too. Black also shows how even though she seems ok on the outside she's very depressed on the inside. Black also shows sophistication and in this season she's trying to better herself and her future. Maddy gives a lot of advice a lot this season which can show her maturity and growth. Specifically, Kat, Cassie and in a flashback to Lexi. But she is also given advice from Samantha, a person Maddy wants to be. The other main color she wears this season is green. Green can show her growth as a character and her growing herself anew. In the last episode we see her wearing all green showing that she's ready for a new start and a new beginning. Near the end of the season Samantha gives Maddy the purple dress she repeatedly tried on. Linking back to how often she wore purple the first season when she was her most confident and sure of her self. But the question is what is Maddy's new beginning?

𝐌𝐀𝐃𝐃𝐘 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐒𝟑

★ 𝐖𝐢𝐭𝐡 rumors of season three making the rounds on twitter I felt obligated to make this post when I found out that Maddy was rumored to work at a strip club and potentially a sugar baby. The ladder being more believable. Im aware that theres a time jump this season and that they won't be in high school anymore. (thank god) We don't know the liability of these rumors or what would lead a character like Maddy to work at a strip club. What I do want to do is take what I know from past seasons and make my own predictions of what I want for Maddy. And then add my own personal fashion choices for her.

𝐌𝐘 𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐎𝐍𝐀𝐋 𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐃 𝐂𝐀𝐍𝐍𝐎𝐍

★ 𝐌𝐚𝐝𝐝𝐲 is a creature of habit. Her habits make her a very human character even though the writer(s) might make her out to be a stereotype sometimes. The rumor that she's a sugar baby isn't too far fetched when we remember that she would rely on Nate to give her what she wants in return for a relationship. Maddy likes men who seem successful or wealthy. So her becoming a sugar baby isn't too far fetched. Maddy claimed that Nate ruined her confidence and even though he might be out of her life now (we have no news of that yet) he traumatized her still. Those effects still possibly rippling into her future choices. Euphoria is a show about addictions, all types, so I think for Maddy her addiction is this toxic cycle she find herself in with these relationships and her addiction to feeling powerful in the wrong ways. Her addiction to a specific future that she desperately wants but makes the wrong or questionable choices to get there. Maddy is vengeful and loves the rush of a fight. Shes addicted to the unhealthy, and toxics sides to love as she said in season 2. So a nice conclusion for her would be her finding the ability to get that future she wants herself in a different way. Not to be anti sugar baby lol it's more that Maddy's character needs to know the power of having stuff of her own not given by others. Im not opposed to her using men for her own gain but I hope she finds a way to do that and not be in another toxic relationship. An example would be Elektra from Pose. At the very least she could find a healthy relationship and love. In season 2 Maddy claims that she'll never find a sweet love because "there's no darkness". She thinks she could never have a love like that. I hope in season three she meets someone who challenges that mindset and helps Maddy realize her value as a romantic partner. Help bring her confidence back up in a healthy way. No games, no power moves, just real love. There's also a chance that Maddy is even more strategic and manipulative than when she was a teenager. She might have a trick up her sleeve involving whoever her sugar daddy is. Maybe Nate will eventually get his comeuppance this season through his (alleged) marriage with Cassie and Maddy finally gets what she's always wanted when she breaks the addictions she has. That's possibly what rue's character can help her do if she's still sober. This is essentially what should happen to Maddy's character. She should remember Samatha, grow out of the toxic patterns, keep the power play moves she does away from the people she loves. She should use her confidence and natural skills in ways that benefit her healthily. Of course all my opinion. (I really don't want to believe she works at a strip club)

𝐅𝐀𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐏𝐑𝐄𝐃𝐈𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒

★𝐎𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞: Orange is a warm inviting color. Can be associated with optimism, joy, and success.I desperately want to see Maddy winning this season. In a leaked video of Alexa on set we see her in an orange outfit talking to rue.

★𝐖𝐡𝐢𝐭𝐞: White can symbolize hope and is the opposite hue of black. It can also show surrender or peace. Regardless if Maddy has a new love interest or not, I hope she would find peace in her past relationship.

★𝐏𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐥𝐞: It's only right Maddy has another purple moment. And I hope it's during a moment when she truly recognizes her power.

★𝐅𝐮𝐫𝐬: Furs can show luxury and high class. If Maddy is a sugar baby I would hope she has her coin up. And it can show her possibly finally achieving the status she wants.

★𝐀𝐧𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤: If she's in the sugar baby/ stripper world it would make sense for Maddy to wear more animal print again. Promiscuous, sexy, and fierce and if she has a certain plan up her sleeve it can show how deceptive she is as most of the animal print she'd wear was feline.

★𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫: Leather is also promiscuous and can be used on dominating, powerful, or even rebellious characters.

★𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐞: In the first season Sharron stone in "Casino" is mentioned as Maddy’s spirit animal. In casino had a power over DeNiro. Maddy even getting a replica of the fur coat Sharron wears from Nate. I think it would be fun if Maddy had some fashion moments that are homages to Sharon stone in casino. And if there’s a story line of her using a man (like the potential sugar baby plot can go into) it'd be the perfect time to do so.

Vibrational Astrology Series Part One - The Vibrations

Have you ever wondered why you didn't identify with your placements?

Maybe you're an Aries Sun but don't quite fit the "strong-willed leader" stereotype.

Perhaps you're an Aquarius Mars, but you find yourself a bit more socially aware than people assume you to be.

Or,

Conceivably, you are a Virgo Moon, and that "thoughtful, organized, and precise" typecast fits just fine.

Sometimes, being or having a placement in a certain sign or at a particular degree is not enough for it to be present in your demeanor. Like people, Planets and Signs have energetic frequencies, and operating in alignment with those frequencies will aid in reaching the highest energetic possibility (North Node) of your chart.

Vibrational Astrology is the practice of using Harmonic Charts to magnify the relationships of the planets in the Natal Chart. It emphasizes the importance of planetary configurations above anything else.

It is a contemporary approach to astrology, developed by David Cochrane through his astrology consultations spanning from 1972 to 1981.

Rather than focusing on the sign of the planet, Vibrational Astrology starts with the energy or vibration of the planet and then relates it to the archetypes and characteristics of a specific sign.

The "vibrations" of Vibrational Astrology are what is known to us in Traditional Astrology as Aspects. There are an infinite number of Vibrations as they are derived from factorization, but for the sake of space and time, I will list the most common and important ones, to my simplified understanding.

A note: The higher the vibration, the more internalized the energy.

Prime Numbers:

1 V Conjunction - Similar to a Conjunction in Traditional Astrology where the planets and energies work together as one. 1V is also known as Informed Judgement as its said to reference yourself more than any outside source.

2 V Opposition - Polorization. Shared or Cpnflicting interactions with others.

3 V - Trine - Smooth flow of energy

5 V - Quintile - Maleable energy. Signifies creativity and childlike energy.

7 V - Septile - Introspective energy. It signifies the energy we express when we are by ourselves. 7 is associated with focus, precision, and introspection.

11 V - Undecile - The energy of discontent and restlessness. This energy will always feel incomplete due to its inability to feel satisfaction.

13 V - Potential. The energy that acknowledges the feeling of something special within us, and the desire to feel special, and aims to access and express it by any and all means necessary

17 V - Empathy. The energy that allows us to connect with others.

19 V - Analytic Ability. The energy that encourages us to analyze and apply theories to find a solution to a problem or to a system of being. It is a cerebral energy. It focuses on the what, how, and why.

23 V - Autonomy and Free Will. The energy within us that wants to find solutions to our own problems and experiences without having to rely on how to do things traditionally. Individualistic.

29 V - Exploration and Engliughtement. The energy within us that desires to experience a life different to the one we were raised in, not due to a desire to UNDERSTAND the lives of others but a desire to EXPERIENCE a different world view

31 V - Wonder. The energy that allows us to feel the passion of wonder and awe. The energy that causes us to question the deeper meaning of a situation, even when there might not be one. Skepticism.

37 V - Complexity. The energy within you that allows you to form assumptions and views about the world, determined not by anyone but yourself. This highly internalized energy instills a strong moral compass within the person.

41 V - Sense. The energy within you that instills the desire to connect separate concepts and theories to each other to understand the concept as a whole and be able to make sense of it.

43 V - Ego. The energy within you that makes you want to identify who you are at your soul, and connect to it.

47 V - Truth Untold. The energy within you that sees everything wrong with societal norms and aims to change them, digging deep into what is known and unknown, to reform societies knowledge of a situation.

53 V - Fork in the Road. The energy within us that allows us to be aware of the many actions we take and their affect on the paths we walk in the future, but not having fear of the flow of time.

59 V - Preservation. The energy in us that makes us devoted to the comfort of tradition, and therefore seeks to preserve it. With this energy, most of the actions can be identified as being connected to a tradition or subconscious belief.

Powers of 2: Action and Interaction.

4 V - Square (2 x 2) - Taking action, being motivated, determination.

8 V - Semisquare (2 x 2 x 2) - Action with the intention to make a change in society.

16 V - (2 x 2 x 2 x 2) - Internal action. Action with the intention to reach a goal that people arent aware of.

32 V - (2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2) - Internalized beliefs stimulate intense actions from a person that often seem subconscious.

Powers of 3: Smooth energy flow. Tendency to stay away from conflict and confrontation.

9 V - (3 x 3) - The energy within us that desires to be an active participant and member of a community with a need for communication, harmony, and connection. Attempts to avoid conflict but if not possible, will smooth it over.

27 V - (3 x 3 x 3) - The energy within us that has a strong desire for peace and calmness. A pacifist and will actively go out of their way to avoid conflict at all costs.

Miscellaneous: A note: When it says "Opposition in" it means that that energy is in opposition with a factor in this energy. It doesn't always have to be a bad thing. For example, Decile is 2 and 5. 5 is an Opposition energy, therefore it says "Opposition in 5V"

25 V - (5 x 5) - EXTREME creativity.

36 V - (6 x 6) or (2 x 2 x 3 x 3) - The energy within us that idealizes situations.

Factors: Combined core vibrations that create separate vibrations

6 V (Sextile) - Harmonious interactions with others

10 V - (5 x 2) - (Decile) (Opposition in 5V) - Creative interactions with others

12 V - (4 x 3) - (Semisextile and Quincunx) - Receptive interaction but smooth and flowing. These two aspects are conflicting, so the energy needs to be balanced for it to work.

14 V - (7 x 2) - (Opposition in 7V) - Learning with or being taught by others. Specifically with mastery of a talent. Being trained.

15 V - (5 x 3) - (Trine in 5V) - Free flowing creativity and playfulness.

18 V - (9 x 2) - (Opposition in 9V) - Desire to be included in a community, either in a compatible or incompatible sense.

20 V - (5 x 4) - (Square in 5V) - A desires to play, but has a need to take inspired action.

21 V - (7 x 3) - (Trine in 7V) - Gift of harmony, easy to master abilities due to the ability to focus.

22 V - (11 x 2) - (Opposition in 11V) - Desire to interact with others, but with a fear of being stifled or watered down by them.

24 V - (8 x 3) (Trine in 8V) and (6 x 4) (Square in 6V) - Has the strength of inspired action and completing goals by themselves, but has issues with collaborating with others.

26 V - (13 x 2) (Opposition in 13V) - Has a desire to be special

28 V - (7 x 4) (Square in 7V) - Has trouble mastering talents. They place too much pressure on themselves to reach said goals.

30 V - (5 x 3 x 2) - Interactions with others that flow smoothly
