I'd really love to get some wearable QLL merch! But...not in black. It's so hot 🥵 Any chance we might get some colorful options at some point? Like making that blue behind the logo the whole shirt would look really good imo. (Would also go for a colorful hat for my sil.) I know that's difficult and more costly, so really just asking out of curiosity!

for merch we really wanted to prioritize working with a union shop (which worx is!) so we’ve had to make some compromises in other areas*. as our library continues to grow, we hope to keep expanding what’s available for merch as well!

Pet peeve: when people say “migraine isn’t just a headache” then say “because when I get a migraine I feel like my brain is being crushed by a truck and also stabbed with an icepick” like. You just described a headache. That’s a pain in your head. That’s a headache. A very, very bad headache, but a headache. There’s no threshold where pain in your head stops being a headache. The reason migraine is more than just a headache is because of the other symptoms that can accompany it— sensory sensitivities, brain fog and fatigue, nausea, aura, prodrome/postdrome symptoms, etc. Headache is just one of many migraine symptoms, and you can still have migraine even if your headaches aren’t particularly severe (there are even some types of migraine that come without headaches at all)

Alright I know that we’re all tired. We’re 5 months into this now and it can be really tempting to just check out. To be honest, I did that a lot in May. And what I realized from doing that is, yeah, checking out felt nice, but the bad things still kept happening.

Remember, Trump and his cronies want us to stop paying attention. Because if we’re not paying attention, then we’re not fighting back and they can keep getting away with destroying our country and enriching themselves in the process.

You don’t need to spend every waking second of your day thinking about the news. But what I do ask is that, if you see a story from a credible news source about the corruption or more cuts to programs or problems that are starting to reverberate out from previous actions, please share it. Don’t just look at it and move on. Share it.

Fighting back only works if we all do it together. Remember that our communities are our strength.

Hey what did you do for pride month I didn’t really do much…

Hey, I haven't left the house much and I'm closeted to my family (besides my sibling) so not much irl. But online, I've done things like listening to queer music, watching queer creators, spreading the word about protests, etc.

I also started a new tumblr community for queer punks at the beginning of pride (link if you're interested) which has been fun but it's still very small lol

It's been hard this pride with everything going on in the US but the amount of people showing up for protests (like the recent No Kings protests) gives me hope. It's not "pride was a riot," pride IS a riot! Both the protest and the celebration are what pride is.

Books on Libby have started disappearing.

My friend pointed it out first, and then I started noticing too. Why would books that multiple libraries definitely, 100% had digital access to a couple of months/weeks/days ago disappear?

Amazon is getting exclusive rights to them.

Ebooks that the public library once had digital copies of are now only available through Amazon. Audible boasts on their covers about Audible-exclusive audiobooks that did not used to be Audible-exclusive. Entire series and collections are disappearing overnight.

Keep your eyes on the privatization of media and your libraries.
