Poolside Fun 2: Private Pool Adventures

(my other TROP fanfics) (Poolside Fun AU tag)

Silverscars (Adar/Celebrimbor), modern!AU, summer!AU, Rated E for smut. Continuation of 'Poolside Fun' (AO3 / Part 1.1 / Part 1.2 / Part 1.3 / blog tag), Lifeguard-slash-pool-owner!Adar, jewelsmith!Celebrimbor. After their first, spontaneous, incredibly enjoyable night by Adar's public pool and the equally satisfying morning after, Celebrimbor and Adar start seeing each other regularly. Adar soon visits Celebrimbor’s house, which includes a private outdoor pool...and high hedges. Adar quickly figures out some fun things they could use that pool for – things that Celebrimbor is rather eager to try as well.

So um. That happened? I think my love for this AU, the fact that summer has fully come around, the residual energy of the Spice Week event, and a few other contributing factors lead to me writing this piece. I just couldn’t control myself – I love the dynamic between these two in this AU, and the kind of fun they can get up to. It’s very exciting to write, and I hope everyone will enjoy the results of this little (continued) experiment, hehe. <3

Also, a quick shout-out to @plotdesigner for coming up with some of the details of Adar's home, like the backyard and its contents! TYSM! <3

Celebrimbor: The amount of distance and the lack of communication were what got us into this mess in the first place! Nevermind the fact that our messengers end up 'disappearing' all the time! So, I had this little passion project, and now, we can send troops, supplies and messages across the vast Middle-earth wilderness in a fraction of the usual time, with more safety and comfort than riding horseback or running! :D

Gil-Galad: ... (I have been looking away for five months minutes. Five! How does this keep happening?! Where does he get these ideas from?!)

Elrond: ...a little passion project?!

Narvi: My people will supply the iron and the coal needed, and the building of the rails will be a communal effort, strengthening the relationship between the elves and dwarves! I have already worked out some plans - the first route will be a shorter one between Eregion and Khazad-Dum! :D

Durin: ... (How is this idea even more out-there than those blasted rings of power?!)

Disa: Well that certainly sounds more comfortable. I think we should try it. :)

Galadriel: Does that mean there will be less chances of getting into fights? :(

Adar: Somehow I don't think that will be an issue...

Nobody can convince me that Celebrimbor, had he lived, wouldn't have been the one to invent trains. I know, I know, dwarves, and Narvi absolutely helped but. He would have.

Thiiis - omg maybe the mice try and win over Mirdania too? Who might have soft spot for them, just like Celebrimbor, which helps keep her a bit more alert when Annatar tries to put a wedge between her and Celebrimbor?

Annatar using the mice's shenanigans for his own advantage is so cruel and so on brand! I can see Silverpaw standing there like "You *meep*-ing *meep* of a *meep*!" and then stealing the newest batch of prototypes out of sheer spite XD They have to start over so many times, enough perhaps that Adar's army arrives far too early?

Celebrimbor catching Silverpaw sounds so cute, I imagine him looking over, doing a double take, stilling, watching as Silverpaw (and friends) try to scurry off with Feanor's hammer, only for them to freeze and everyone to stare awkwardly at each other.

Celebrimbor: Oh no I am going mad.

Silverpaw: Oh no we've been found out.

Oh Annatar would totally frame his antics as totally deliberate, meanwhile someone has been messing with the robe's clasps and it almost slips off his shoulders the next time he moves. (Silverpaw: "Deliberate this!") He is not in control and it's bothering him something fierce.

Yesss that would be so cute, it's the Valar and a descendant/relative of Huan conspiring together to let Annatar have a horrible, terrible, no good bad day XD The fact that the dog gets to help some Valinorian mice makes it even better! It's an epic team up. And then Elrond comes into Celebrimbor's forge, trying to rescue him, and him and the dog have a moment of deja vu never of them can quite explain.

I soooo love the idea of Silverpaw getting a little desk on Celebrimbor's desk top - he'd build him little ladders and stairs to climb, and of course Silverpaw can take from his ink and nibble on his biscuits! They have a teaset that matches, with tiny cups for Silverpaw and bigger ones for Celebrimbor <3

The pocket idea is so cute, I can imagine them standing on the balcony together, both drinking their tea, Celebrimbor standing, Silverpaw comfortable in the chest pocket. (Maybe they have a Ratatouille moment? Silverpaw sitting on Tyelpe's shoulder and directing him to make sth?)

Same, the OTPaw potential for the Pawdar/Silverpaw name combo is so cute. We'll take that one! <3

Do y'all ever read a fic so good that it makes you want to elevate your own craft and also befriend the writer? It's almost like, "Hi! You write so well that you've inspired me to embark on a creative training arc. Also, can I yell about the character in your dms because you get it?"

seven sentences someday

I tagged by @ishmaelsail in this post to share a seven sentence snippet from a WIP (thank you! <3)

This is another snippet from my silverscars Poolside Fun sequel (blog tag), which I am currently editing and hoping to post soon.

The dinner itself had been a joyful affair, however; the other had prepared a meal for the both of them, a roast with vegetables and, as Celebrimbor had requested, soda as drinks. The two had thrown each other knowing glances and small smiles as they toasted with it. It had been clear that they’d have liked nothing more than to let the dessert be something a little more intimate, but Adar’s son had come home early and thwarted that opportunity. Glug had been cautious at first, but soon thawed to the jewelsmith when it turned out Celebrimbor also knew his way around a hammer and pliers, and helped the younger man repair one of the faucets in an upstairs bathroom. After that, he’d seemed much more appreciative of the older man – and his presence in both Adar’s house and life. They hadn’t had much of a chance to indulge in intimacy until or since then; Celebrimbor had gotten some contracts that needed his full, undivided attention, and Adar had been preoccupied with the finances of his public pool, as well as a summer program for disadvantaged children he was running, which would allow them to visit the pool at reduced costs. It was easy remember, then, what had drawn Celebrimbor to the other man, as Adar talked about the program like it wasn’t anything special.
