It’s 3 AM, but fuck it, we’re being domestic | Prompts

Alternatively, just some fluffy domestic romance prompts, but they feel more cute when they’re in the middle of the night because one or both of the ship characters are insomniacs.

Dancing together in the kitchen, in the refrigerator light, and then sitting on the kitchen counter, eating ice-cream directly from the carton.

Walking barefoot on the dew covered grass, hand in hand, under the stars.

Sitting on the floor trying to piece together IKEA furniture because one person got obsessed with finishing it the same day.

Middle of the night cooking, except it’s making the weirdest most absurd dishes imaginable, just for fun.

Making love, except it’s on the bedroom floor.

Cleaning cupboards or attics and finding lpppittle mementos, childhood pictures, etc and talking about memories.

Midnight drives with street food pit-stops and making out with the car radio playing in the background.

Tossing a smiley stress ball around the house watching it knock into furniture— Bonus, if one person is tossing it and another is scrambling around trying to make sure no furniture falls over, causing squabbles.

Gossiping about annoying relatives/friends, parents etc.

Making each other coffee, except the rule is: adding all of the other person’s favorite ingredients PLUS one mystery ingredient which might be good bad or ugly. For funs~

Late night massage sessions because they’re old (they’re not even thirty. Maybe they are.) and their back huuurts.

Ramp Walk/Modelling sessions where one person tries out every single outfit in their closet, and the other one rates or judges them all and gives (mostly useless) opinions.

Doing laundry except they can’t put the clothes out for drying because there’s no sun, so they spread them all over the furniture (only the stuff that doesn’t go bad with the water-) and switch on all the fans.

Weird selfie poses and filming random tiktok dances.

Alternately, sitting side by side on the bed (or the floor—) deleting old pictures from their phones to make storage and laughing about embarrassing old pictures. (A “my phone might die of lack of storage but that super embarrassing picture of yours from six years ago isn’t going anywhere!”)

One of them randomly googling super random shit and telling those facts to the other person, and the other one, super sleepy, just nodding along to everything.

Painting dates where either both of them are amazing artists or neither of them are, (or one is and the other isn’t) and they switch canvases periodically to finish each other’s paintings. (Chaos for the ones who can’t paint, and two beautiful art pieces for the ones who can~)

Alternatively, one is an artist and the other models for them while being utterly sleepy bc Artist has insomnia :D

One is a musician and keeps the other up all night with the music. Or alternately, the partner has insomnia and the sleepy musician plays them something to pass the night (and what if it turns out to be a lullaby-)

Turning the junk, broken and useless stuff in their house into a rage room for the night.

Learning crocheting from YouTube and making each other weird little woollen mementos. (Could go for anything really. Learning shit with esch other in the middle of the night from YouTube—)

After a lot of planning and feedback from friends and community, I'm proud to present the prompt list for the 2nd non-consecutive TES Pinup Challenge!

In recognition of the Oblivion Remaster that released earlier this year, our prompt list is themed around Oblivion! Each primary and secondary prompt relates back to one of the quest lines in Oblivion, including:

“You’re Not Even Trying to Hide It”

Loki x Reader

You weren’t a superhero. You weren’t even mildly heroic. You were an overworked, underpaid personal assistant at a Midtown publishing house whose only real power was scheduling chaos into something resembling order.

So why, in the name of Odin’s weird little raven birds, was Loki the God of Mischief obsessed with you?

Not in the general, 'I enjoy taunting mortals' kind of way. No—his chaos had a pattern.

Every time a project deadline loomed, Loki would “coincidentally” stage some dramatic, city-wide nuisance that would shut down your entire office building for hours. Once it was a full-on flash blizzard—in July. Another time, he replaced every elevator button in your building with riddles written in Old Norse. Just last week, he summoned an actual swarm of geese. Indoors.

But what finally tipped the scale was today.

Your coffee machine had exploded at 8:04 a.m.

Loki’s latest “harmless rampage” began at 8:06.

And it just so happened to take place five blocks from your office, but a full twenty miles from your family’s neighborhood.

He wasn’t threatening. Just infuriating. And a little smug. Okay—a lot smug. Which was why you found yourself storming through the quiet park near the Bifrost memorial statue where you knew, with soul-weary certainty, Loki would be. Probably feeding ducks something obnoxiously inappropriate. And sure enough—there he was.

Draped lazily over a bench like he was posing for a Renaissance painting, dressed in an utterly impractical black silk tunic that shimmered in the sun, Loki turned toward you as if he’d been waiting.

“Ah,” he purred, his voice like warm honey and bad intentions. “I was beginning to wonder if you’d ever confront me. I was starting to think you liked the attention.”

You stopped dead in your tracks. “So you do know who I am!”

He placed a hand to his heart, feigning shock. “Darling, I never said that.”

“But you just—!” You pointed accusingly. “You only cause chaos when I’m working. You’ve never ruined my weekends, or holidays, or even a sick day. One time, I took a half-day, and your ‘floating goats with knives’ nonsense ended early!”

Loki’s mouth twitched into an infuriating grin. “Perhaps the universe simply agrees that you shouldn’t be stuck in an office all day. I’m a humanitarian.”

“You turned the Hudson green and made it smell like lime Jell-O," she deadpanned.

“Delightful, wasn’t it?” he said fondly. “Your coworkers said it boosted morale.”

You pinched the bridge of your nose. “You’re—ugh—you’re literally stalking me.”

“I’m enhancing your environment,” he corrected smoothly. “Besides, I’d hardly call it stalking. You’re very predictable. It's adorable, really. You even get the same muffin every morning—blueberry, if I recall?”

You gawked. “You are stalking me!”

Loki stood with a flourish, strolling toward you with hands clasped behind his back, like a cat who’d just knocked over all the fine china and wanted praise.

“Fine,” he said. “Yes, I know who you are. I know your favorite tea, your exact work schedule, and that you secretly talk to your dying houseplants to encourage them. And I know—” he leaned down, voice a murmur near your ear, “—that you never smile at your coworkers the way you’re trying not to smile at me right now.”

Your spine went rigid. “You’re ridiculous.”

“I am,” he agreed, lips curling. “And yet here you are, meeting me in a park with no backup, no authorities, and no intention of leaving quickly.”

You opened your mouth, but no words came out.

Loki straightened, satisfaction glowing in his green eyes. “Now, if you truly want me to stop interfering with your work week,” he said, “I suppose you’ll have to make a formal request.”

You narrowed your eyes. “Are you seriously making me ask you out just to get you to stop messing with my office building?”

“Semantics,” Loki said. “But yes.”

You stared. He smiled. “…Fine,” you said finally. “Dinner. But if you pull any tricks, I’m finding out how to tell Thor you tried to flirt with my ceiling fan.”

Loki laughed, stepping back with a wink. “I would never.” (He would.)

But, surprisingly, that week? No geese. No blizzards. No Old Norse elevator buttons.

And for the first time in months, your office stayed blissfully, peacefully boring. It was, frankly, kind of disappointing.

…Which is why, two days later, you texted him first.

Do you have any advice for a character who has a sort of sacrificial lamb complex? A savior complex but not as in a hero to save the day, but as in they don't believe they deserve to save themselves?

How to Write a Sacrificial Character

Backstory and Motivation

Traumatic Past: Explore the character’s history. Perhaps they’ve experienced abandonment, betrayal, or loss, leading them to internalize the belief that their worth is tied to suffering for others.

Family Expectations: They may come from a family that emphasizes self-sacrifice or has a history of martyrdom, teaching them that their own needs are secondary to others.

Guilt and Responsibility: The character might feel an overwhelming sense of guilt for past failures, believing that they owe it to others to endure hardship or take on burdens.

Internal Conflict

Self-Worth Issues: Illustrate their struggle with self-worth. They might dismiss compliments or feel undeserving of happiness, using phrases like “I don’t deserve this” or “I have to earn my place.”

Desire for Connection: While they may push others away, they also yearn for connection and love, creating an internal tug-of-war between wanting to be saved and believing they are unworthy of it.

Sacrificial Actions

Small Acts of Sacrifice: Show them making small sacrifices for friends or loved ones, like skipping meals or taking on additional work, which reinforces their belief that they should suffer for others’ well-being.
