I’m going to miss her!

I’m so glad she made nibante, and I vastly enjoyed this time of hers on the stage, even though I’m sad that it’s coming to an end soon. But I do wish I had gotten to see her live. I really hope she keeps acting! I feel like her special something translates well to the right kind of female roles too. (Dear Japanese tv, do you need a morally ambiguous femme fatale woobie? Hire her!)

Maybe it is time we use our beloved Tumblr to protest this sexist policy that marks female nipples as porn. Tumblr is being extreme in what its decision and policies, and is using a useless algorithm that sees Rothko paintings (see @dailyrothko) and flowers and all kinds of non-porn images as porn.

So, on Monday, 12-17-18, we should not post anything on Tumblr, except the above photo, which is available here. NOTE: You can also add these to your avatar to let anyone who visits your site know about this.

As this post suggests, if we have a queue with images, we should add this one to 12-17-18. As part of our protest, we should not do anything on Tumblr for the whole day: no dashboard, no posts, no comments, chat, replies. We should also, as recommended by @jtmportland, we should also completely log out to show a physical drop in traffic/use.

Nothing on Tumblr, all day, M, 12-17-18. Even log out completely for the day so there is a drop in traffic/use.

Also, please think about putting @staff & @support​ on any and all reblogs of this and any on any posts about this, since this will send them a direct notification of each and every post about this. We need to flood their dashboards so they see we are upset.

I’m still on grey-bard.dreamwidth.org, though I’ve never been a super frequent updater (but hey, with more people there, that could change) and I’m grey-bard on AO3. Yes you may save anything of mine to your computer.

From someone who’s survived MySpace, livejournal, deviantart, and fanfiction.nets’ content purges and bad policy updates, here’s some advice on how to get through tumblr’s recent bullshit:

- don’t knee jerk delete. I know it’s tempting to peace out immediately but hang on and do the other steps first. Out right ghosting and erasing everything is how fandoms die.

- archive everything on your blog you want to keep

- tell your followers how they can archive and keep your work too. A lot of fic and art were only saved from ff.net and lj because other people saved it first. If you’re cool with other people saving your work for them to personally keep, let them know this. You can absolutely discourage reposting but I really do highly recommend you allow people to personally save fic and art they like and are worried will disappear forever. Digital Dark Ages are a real thing.

- tell people where you’re jumping ship to. Give links. Keep that info up, even if you’ve left the site.

- go through who you follow and find out where else you can follow them. Save their work if they’ll allow it. It’s tedious as hell but if you want to keep up with people on here clicking on their page to check in is the best way to do it.

- support places like ao3. This is exactly why ao3 asks for donations a few times a year. They are a 100% anti-purging, judgement free, ad free non profit run by an elected board and protected by lawyers. Places like ao3 literally save fandom so please continue to support them and other similar archives. This is exactly why ao3 is so important.

Impromptu Company / Revue stream

Tonight in about two hours at 8:30 pm EST I will be streaming Company as well as the revue (or revue clips) of the audience’s choice. I’ll be streaming at my Rabb.it room (user name grey-bard on rabb . it) It will be followed by the revue or revue clips of the audience’s choice.

Company is a 2018 Takarazuka production starring the current Moon Troupe (Tamaki Ryou, Manaki Reika and Miya Rurika as leads) about an idealistic salaryman being put in charge of a financially challenged ballet company, and featuring boybands, man on man otokuyaku on otokuyaku Swan Lake, and a ballet dancer with a day job at a convenience store.

LAST MINUTE MEETUP! I am going to be at the Sakura Matsuri at Brooklyn Botanic Garden tomorrow.

If anyone else who either I know, or is in Takarazuka fandom, wants to meetup, I will be hanging out right inside the entrance that is near Brooklyn Museum and the 2 subway train stop at 1 pm. (Though I will be at the Matsuri for at least an hour before and after that and available by phone)
