Quote
I can tell already you think I’m the dragon, that would be so like me, but I’m not. I’m not the dragon. I’m not the princess either. Who am I? I’m just a writer. I write things down. I walk through your dreams and invent the future. Sure, I sink the boat of love, but that comes later. And yes, I swallow glass, but that comes later.

Recommended Reading: Pride Edition
Here are some queer books I’ve read lately that bring me queer joy:
The Faggot and His Friends Between Revolutions by Larry Mitchell
This fable about a queer community is a wonderful introduction to the mindset of pleasure activism. A classic for queer activists.
Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir
Sci-fi/fantasy lesbian necromancers in space.
Everyone on the Moon is Essential Personnel by Julian K. Jarboe
Winner of this years Lambda for Sci-Fi/Horror, this short story collection chronicles a cast of beautiful and unique characters with witty, gorgeously-rendered writing that hurts so good. (This author is the creator of that wheat-not-bread grapes-not-wine trans quote that’s always circulating, so if you want to get that wisdom straight from the source, read this book!)
Sappho: A New Translation by Mary Barnard
A classic which I like to revisit every few months to feed my bisexual soul. Anne Carson has a lovely translation of Sappho’s work as well, but there’s something about Barnard’s translation which I keep going back to. I think it’s because Anne Carson can’t resist showing her translation process. She’s a master of meta, but sometimes you just want to dive headfirst into ancient lesbian romance without any resistance, and Barnard’s translation offers you a chance to do just that.
