I found this copy of Thoreau’s Walden buried in the park.  I opened it and saw these roots growing between the pages. I don’t know whether to frame it or put it back in the ground.

Hello!

After weeks of perusing the gloriousness that are studyblrs, I’ve decided to give it a whirl! 

A little about me: My name is Hannah and I’m from New Jersey, USA. I’m 18, and will be turning 19 in two months. In September, I will be moving into college in upstate NY. I’ll be majoring in English Literature (planning on adding Education as a double major). I’ve always found enjoyment in reading, and have always had a HUGE love and emulation for writing. 

Future goals: I aspire to work towards a PhD in 18th century literature/romantic literature. 

Big big goals: Complete my grad studies at NYU or the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. 

That’s just about all there is to know! (Cats and coffee are also included.)

Pictured above: For my summer reading I’m tackling Scotland: The Story of a Nation by Magnus Magnusson. When reading meaty, historical, books such as this, I heavily rely on taking notes and jotting down my own timelines. My side reading includes Walden & Civil Disobedience by Henry David Thoreau, Nostromo by Joseph Conrad, and The History of Tom Jones, a Foundling by Henry Fielding.
