Homelander has had 'I'm different, I'm better' beaten into his head since he was a child in the lab, and it's really the only justification he has for what he endured. But there had to have been that first gut-wrenching time he realized no one else, not even any other supe, had a similar upbringing. That his childhood truly wasn't normal and that it served no real purpose treating him that way. Similar to children from abusive households meeting other people who had healthy upbringings and thinking, 'Oh, some people get... loved?' This revelation would probably come from watching Soldier Boy's movies in the lab or the weird, 'this is what a family looks like!' lessons so he wouldn't be completely detached. The doctors and scientists would of course say 'That's because you're better! You're different and special!" and... ugh, it hurts me.

[The idea behind the Lanyard was that people with Murkoff Staff Favs/OC’s could put their name on it perhaps, because Doc exclusive characters with no items tied to them like Moses are hard to visualise through an item.]

[Because the television motive is rather versatile I’d be open to alterations on that one, like for example displaying a Rorschach test or Easterman’s silhouette instead as well as switching out the associated quote. I’d also like to apologise to the person who originally requested this motive, because I didn’t use their proposed quote; I’d much rather have canon quotes instead of abridged versions on the main sheets, but, again, I am open to customise quotations upon request ^^]
