I know it's been a hot minute since I've posted, but someone reminded me of this post and I felt the need to share it again, so here we are. Blessed be, everyone, and remember to burn safely!
"This spell needs me to burn the entire candle, but I don't want to keep an eye on it for three hours-"
Birthday cake candles.
"I can't find a candle with orange AND blue-"
Birthday cake candles.
"I wish I had broom-closet safe candles-"
Birthday. Cake. Candles.
"All the colored candles I found are scented-"
BIRTHDAY. CAKE. CANDLES.
"Candles can get really expensive-"
BIRTHDAY! CAKE! CANDLES!
Ya'll! They're so cheap! I can get a pack of 12 white birthday candles at my grocery store for like, $0.75. They burn in less than 5 minutes and they're great to just stick on top of a spell jar and let burn down to seal it. They come in all kinds of colors and even numbers in some places! They're unscented and if someone you're not out as a witch to finds them, they're literally just birthday cake candles! I love to use them for that exact reason. Birthday cake candle supremecy.
You're welcome.

Simple Moon Phase Chart
It can be pretty easy to get confused about moon phases, so I'm going to give y'all a little cheat sheet here. It's what I've got in my Grimoire and hasn't failed me since I've started using it. Super beginner-friendly, easy to copy, and you can adjust it to your preference as needed.
Enjoy!
The new moon: Setting new or refreshing old intentions, new beginnings, fresh starts, and trying new things.
The waxing moon: Future planning, confidence in yourself, and being sure in your actions and life steps.
The first quarter: Self-appreciation, pausing to enjoy the moments, reflection on yourself, shadow work.
The waxing gibbous moon: Being mindful of yourself and those around you, honing your skills and talents, taking actions.
The full moon: Manifestation, shadow/inner work, divination, charging magic tools/crystals/moon water.
The waning gibbous moon: Evaluating next steps, reviewing choices and options, and assessing your options/skills.
The third quarter: Releasing worries and troubles, letting hard things go, cleansing mind, body, and soul.
The waning moon: Self-love and self-care, caring for yourself and/or others, forgiving yourself, and surrendering to your next steps.
Although it may not be perfect, this is the chart that I plan m practice around and it's yet to fail me!
As always, practice in a cleansed space and always do your own research. Good luck everyone, and blessed be!

Simple Things Baby Witches Might Miss
I was a baby witch once, and there were tons of small, little things that went over my head until later in my practice. I'm hoping that some of these will ring a bell for those who may need to hear them.
When you're cleansing a room, especially if it's a smoke cleanse, you need to open a window. This gives an 'escape route' for what you're cleansing away and also gives the smoke somewhere to go other than sticking to your walls.
Speaking of smoke cleansing, do not smoke cleanse in a room with pets in it. It can be very, very dangerous to them.
When you're doing research, you should be cross-checking across four to six different sources. If something matches across multiple sources, it's more likely to be solid.
You can incorporate your craft into pretty much anything. Showering? You're washing off the bad energy. Cleaning? You're preparing your space. Gardening? You're encouraging growth and prosperity. And delicious tomatoes!
If you're using a smoke cleanse, you can add the burnt portion to salt to make a beginner's black salt.
Spell jars don't have to go on your altar.
Altars are not completely necessary, especially if you're in the broom closet. Work with what you have.
Every herb has benefits and correspondences. You can utilize these without spell jars, burn spells, etc. Kitchen magic is one of my go-tos - cooking with spices and herbs infuses your food with their benefits.
Ask 'dumb' questions. Reach out to people. If they laugh at you for your questions, you know they are not a reliable source of information. (P.S. - my ask box is always open!)
White wax can replace any other color of wax. Get birthday cake candles for easy, fast burning.
Clear quartz can replace other crystals.
Here's a simple color chart.
Here's a simple moon phase chart.
Here's a simple guide to flowers and their correspondences
Here's a simple guide to cascarilla
As always, do your own research. Take everything you hear with a grain of salt until you do research - yes, even from me, because I make mistakes, too. Blessed be, and good luck, baby witches!

Pumpkin Cupcakes Feel-Good Abundance Spell Recipe
Yes yes yes, I know it's still summer and autumn is a loooong way away, but damnit, sometimes I want to call forth my Inner White Girl and indulge in pumpkin spice! Well, luckily for me (and for you!), I have a perfect recipe for you - because not only is it a dozen pumpkin spice mini cakes, but also a feel-good and abundance spell. So here's my abundance spell recipe - complete with cream cheese frosting and DIY pumpkin spice mix! So, without further ado, here we go!
What you'll need:
Pumpkin pie spice:
3 tablespoons ground cinnamon (adds power to the spell, prosperity, success)
2 teaspoons ground ginger (adds strength to the spell)
2 teaspoons ground nutmeg (money)
1 teaspoon ground allspice (money, luck)
1 teaspoon ground cloves (success)
Bowl
Spoon, fork, or whisk
Cakes:
2 eggs
1 1/4 cups granulated sugar (banishes negativity)
1 cup pumpkin puree (granting wishes, prosperity)
3/4 cup melted butter (enhances peacefulness)
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice (abundance)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (self-love)
1/4 teaspoon salt (protection, grounding)
Cupcake liners (I like these! Unbleached, chlorine-free)
Wire rack (optional)
Whisk, hand mixer, or stand mixer
Large mixing bowl
Cream cheese frosting:
1/2 cup softened butter (enhances peacefulness)
8 ounces softened cream cheese (meeting goals)
4 1/2 cups powdered sugar (banishes negativity)
splash of vanilla extract (self-love)
Large mixing bowl
Hand mixer, or stand mixer (trust me, you'll want a hand or stand mixer for this)
Piping bags (optional)
What you'll do:
Pumpkin pie spice:
Add all ingredients into a bowl
Mix mix mix
All done!
Cakes:
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees (F) and line a 12-cup muffin baking pan with paper liners
Place the wet ingredients (eggs, sugar, pumpkin puree, and butter) in a bowl or stand mixer bowl. Whisk or mix until smooth.
Add the dry ingredients (flour, baking soda, baking powder, pumpkin pie spice, vanilla extract, and salt) to the bowl. Stir until just combined.
Divide the batter among the 12 muffin cups.
Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until just browned and a toothpick inserted in the center of a cupcake comes out clean. A chopstick also works but leaves a bigger hole. Don't worry, you can cover it up with frosting.
Cool for a few minutes in the pan on the wire rack, then transfer the cupcakes to the wire rack to cool completely. Don't frost until the cupcakes are completely cool!
Cream cheese frosting:
Put the butter and cream cheese in the bowl of a mixer or a mixing bowl and mix until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
Add the powdered sugar, one cup at a time, and mix on low speed until combined. Add the vanilla extract and mix for a minute.
If the frosting is too thick, add 1 teaspoon of milk at a time until desired consistency is reached. You can use any kind of milk, but I don't recommend soy.
Optionally, you can put the frosting in a piping bag and pipe the frosting on the cupcakes. Or you can just dollop it on with a spoon. Or, if you're like a monster like me, you can put a cupcake in a bowl and scoop in some frosting with it. Oh who am I kidding, I mash it all up together like an ungodly goop...
I know it's a long post, but I promise it's actually quite easy! And delicious. Very, very delicious.
As always, practice safely, do your research, and blessed be!

So you want to make permanent runes?
Look no further; I gotchu. Runes are great tools. They can protect, defend, enhance, and so much more. They're genuinely one of my favorite things to use in my craft because they're easy, can be as simple or complicated as you want them to be, and are effective. However, as much as I like drawing or painting them onto things, I sometimes want something a little more... permanent. Something I could hang in front of my window or paste/glue onto the front of a book. That's why I make and use salt dough. It's simple, it's fun, it's family-friendly, and it dries really well. You can even color it with food coloring or add in herbs. You can do anything with it! So, without further blabbing, here's my recipe for salt dough:
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup table salt
3/4 cup to 1 cup water
Parchment paper
Baking sheet
An oven
Optional: rolling pin
Optional: thread/ribbon
Optional: dried herbs
Optional: food coloring
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Preheat your oven to 225F (107-ishC).
Optional: Mix your dried herbs into your salt or flour.
Stir your flour and salt together.
Optional: To color your salt dough, stir your food coloring into water before you mix it with the dry stuff. Ensure it's very saturated because it will lighten considerably with the 3 cups of dry ingredients.
Add in 3/4 cup of water and mix. If the dough is too dry, slowly add in up to 1/4 cup more of water until it's kneadable.
Turn onto your parchment paper and knead until it's smooth, pliable, and not sticking to your fingers.
Optional: If you want to cut out shapes instead of molding them, flour your rolling pin and roll out the dough to a thickness of roughly 1/4 inch, then carve out your runes with a skewer or knife.
Roll out pieces of dough into 1/4-inch wide cylinders and form them into your rune/s.
Place them on a parchment paper-covered baking sheet and bake them for 1-4 hours or until completely dry. If you make thicker runes, they might take even longer.
Flip them over carefully every hour. If they're still pliable, try again every half hour.
Once they're dry, remove the pan from the oven and let them cool down until completely cool.
Once they're cool, they're done! You can now hang them up with string or ribbon, glue them onto things, paint (acrylic paint only, don't add water), etc. Just don't get them too wet!
As you can see, despite the long instructions, it's quite simple! It's also edible if you bake the flour first, so if a curious toddler tries to stick some into their mouth, it won't hurt them - but they might spit it out and make a mess.
Happy making, and blessed be!

There’s so much information out there! Where do I start?? I feel really lost.
Hey you! Sorry it took so long to respond, life happened. Unfortunately.
Yes, it can be very, very overwhelming. Starting is often the hardest part of the craft. I can't speak for every practitioner, but I can speak for myself. Keep in mind I am Pagan, not Wiccan, and I firmly stand by that. My path of learning is biased toward Paganism. This also won't be a list of things I did; this will be a guidance post for your own research.
When you're looking for books, make sure to research who the author is. There are so many out there who make up information, steal ideas from others and other cultures, straight-up lie, or spread information that's been debunked.
Before you do any spellwork, research protection. You will want to know how to keep yourself safe and unbothered by outside forces.
This is a big one. When you research (absolutely anything), cross-reference at least five to six sources. The more you see it, the more likely it is to be true. If it's something niche you can't find very easily, go to more experienced practitioners and ask for further guidance. Some practitioners specialize in certain things, so choose who you ask wisely. For example, I am a Green/Kitchen Witch, so my knowledge resides in the garden and kitchen. I wouldn't come to me about divination.
Don't panic. You're going to face a lot of contradicting information. Just remember that there is truth among the misinformation, and it may take some digging to find it.
Don't lose patience. This takes time. Don't 'speed run' through studying.
Write. Stuff. Down. Write it all down. Keep notes. Write down questions and problems. This is a life saver.
Avoid practitioners who are racist, ableist, homophobic, and/or transphobic (just watch out for bigotry in general). I've noticed that these people have some not-so-great things to say and they will guide you down paths paves of their bigotry.
Avoid people who will ridicule your mistakes.
These are just the basic tips I was given when I was just beginning myself. If you want more guidance, you are free to message me again.
Blessed be.

Hello! What do i do with the residue after finishing a spell? Like, the wax and ashes? What do I do with that?
Hello hello! I'm sorry it took so long to get to this.
With ashes, I sometimes mix them in with salt to create black salt. Do be careful doing this because the spell's ashes carry residual energy that you may not want in certain other spells. When I don't mix it into black salt, I smoke cleanse it then pour it into a large jar and seal it up. Every witch has their own way of discarding ashes, so try and research some options that best suites your needs.
As for wax, I generally smoke cleanse the extra wax and save the scraps to remelt. I use the letter sealing wax, so it's as simple as dropping the scraps back into the spoon to melt. For candle wax, you can keep them in a jar (even the same jar as the ashes) after cleansing them or throw them away, although in my opinion, that seems a bit disrespectful.
Again, each practitioner has their own way of handling 'leftovers', so click around, ask others, see what you can find.
Best of luck!

Note
Idk if this is a stupid question or not but if I had one of those wax kits that are used for sealing letters and whatnot, i think it's called fire paint wax or something, would that wax work for sealing spell jars? Or does it have to be from a candle?
Hey there! Sorry it took so long to get to this!
Honestly, I use the letter-sealing wax myself. Both options involve the element of fire; the sealing wax is just thicker and safer for people who have shaky hands (like myself). I've not noticed a difference in the spell jars themselves between using the two.
However, some spell jars specifically require a candle to be burnt down on them, such as many protection or curse banishment jars. I recommend using small chime candles or even birthday cake candles if your patience is thin.
Hope this helps!

Well, well, well... look who the cat dragged in.
I'm back, y'all!
I know, I know: where the ever-living hell have I been?! Well, let me divulge a little personal information. I started college again (I graduate in a few weeks!), I went to inpatient care, I spent time far away from home with my partner, and a couple other things happened that just killed my free time and creativity.
But.
Here I am! Ready to bring forth tricks, tips, and witchy recipes.
And some exciting news! I have an empty recipe book that I'm sloooooowly filling with all my witchy recipes, and it'll be on sale here soon! It'll be listed on my Ko-Fi once it's complete, and I'll post a few announcements here on my blog when it's ready to be bought. It won't be cheap, I'm not going to lie - between the price of the book itself and the hours I'm going to spend hand-writing all my recipes... You get the idea.
As usual, I'll post every few days and pepper some reposts in with the fresh posts. I'll get to messages right away. Happy witching y'all. It's great to be back!

Beginner Witch Tips - Kitchen Witch Edition
The oven can be your hearth. If a spell or ritual requires a hearth, your stove is just that. That being said, do not set anything on fire in your oven. Bad! No!
You don't need separate kitchen and altar herbs, although it is handy.
Some crystals can be used in kitchen magic, but I don't recommend putting them in or on anything other than a crystal on top of firm dough as it rests/rises. Secure crystals onto mixing equipment or spoons, or forgo using them at all.
Listen to witchy music as you cook or bake. I promise atmosphere is almost everything! It helps me focus. I recommend Peter Gundry.
While pets are cute and certainly carry spiritual energy with them, try to keep them out of the kitchen while you cook, especially if you have a certain intention you're trying to carry into your food. Their presence can distract you, throw off the energy you have accumulated, or otherwise disrupt the process. Once you're more confident with your kitchen witchery, their presence won't be such a big deal.
Take your time. It's okay. Sometimes it takes a while to truly clock into your spiritual energy while you're actively moving about and busy working, especially if you're used to practicing while sitting or standing in one spot. Remember - energy flows with you, not just around you.
Start small. Start with something simple like pancakes. For example: add a dash of vanilla to your pre-made batter mix to invoke self-love.
Write down things as you continue to work. Document what you're comfortable with, what you feel like you're good at, your project, and everything you feel you might want to. As you continue to work on that journal, you can go back and see how you've progressed!
Happy baking! Remember, your mood affects your project; negative emotions = negative influence.
As always, blessed be <3

Well then, I guess I'll get to work on making a few books! It will take a while to piece everything together, but if anyone is interested in pre-ordering one, I can set that up on Ko-Fi. Anyone interested in that?
So, about that cookbook y'all wanted...
I am left with an incredibly high vet bill that I'm struggling to pay off. As such, I finally relented to what some of you were asking for; basically, making a witchy cookbook with all my kitchen magic recipes. However, I'm not sure how to go about this.
I want to make these books nice, so I found leather binders on sale and plan to use page protectors and fanciful witchy recipe print-outs to make each book roughly 50-80 recipes (depending on how many pages fit in the binders). That makes production costs roughly $15 each. I'd want to make at least $10 profit off each book, so I'd have to price them at a minimum of $25, and that's not including shipping.
So, I used a few ideas from my followers.
I could produce a few physical copies and hold raffles for each one. Tickets would be $5 each through Ko-Fi. You'd send me the $5 with a message with your Tumblr. Then I'll randomly pick one person and send them the book. Not my favorite idea, but an idea nonetheless.
I could sell them for about $35-$40 (in total, including shipping within the U.S.A.) each.
I could forgo making them physically and clump them together digitally and sell them that way. I would price them at $.25 a recipe, so that's $12.50 for 50 recipes or $20 for 80. I'd post this on Ko-Fi.
I could sell physical copies of each recipe. I'd charge $3.50 for the recipe, plus shipping (which completely depends on how many recipes are ordered). I'm capping out the total cost of shipping at $5, so no matter how many one person orders, they'll never pay more than $5 for shipping within the U.S.A. Outside of the U.S.A., I'll have to find out the shipping and get back to you on that.
OR I could sell each recipe digitally for $1.50. I'd post these on Ko-Fi (I already have a few there).
Thoughts? Questions? Ideas? Comments? I'd really, really appreciate any insight anyone may have on this. Please reblog, share, like, and vote! Thanks for all of the support <3

Strawberries
Easily one of my favorite foods, strawberries are more than a sweet treat to enjoy. They're also a powerful tool in kitchen magic, with a variety of wonderful uses that includes my strawberry sweet day spell recipe. In this post, we'll go more in-depth into their uses and benefits.
Strawberries are great for multiple things, but their most commonly 'used' properties include invoking success, luck, and good circumstances. However, they are also used in kitchen magic involving love and affection. The leaves are symbols of luck, and they may also ease the pain of pregnancy and childbirth.
Personally, my favorite use of strawberries includes success and luck. Such as my sweet day pancake spell, which uses strawberries to invoke a successful and luckily pleasant day. However, they also make delightful self-love sugar syrup. If you want my recipe for that, let me know!
There's also use for the 'scraps' - strawberry tops. Although completely edible, most people I know tend not to eat them. So, here are a few ways I use strawberry tops.
If you're the kind of person to just slice off the tops with some of the fruit, brew strawberry tea! Boil two cups of water, turn off the heat once it boils, throw in two handfuls of strawberry tops, and let 'em steep for about ten to fifteen minutes. You can add sugar or honey, or even brew some black tea and use the strawberry tops to make strawberry black tea.
Throw in sliced-off tops or the leaves (if you're a leaf-picker like me) into a smoothie. You can't tell the leaves are in there and it's packed full of nutrients and vitamins!
Make strawberry sugar syrup. As stated before, if you want the recipe, let me know and I can make a post!
As always, practice safely, do your research, and of course, blessed be.

Sleepy Herbs in Witchcraft
Shh, it's sleepy time. Here are some herbs that can help you rest better.
Anise: Put anise in your pillow to protect you from disturbing dreams
Catnip: Keep above your bed to protect you while you sleep.
Celery Seed: Use in a sleep pillow to help you fall asleep faster.
Chamomile: Drinking it as a tea reduces stress and helps you sleep faster, and sounder.
Dandelion Root: Use in a sleep pillow to protect you while you sleep.
Lavender: Drink in a tea, use in a bath, keep in a sleep pillow, or keep in your room to help you gain a restorative, calm sleep. Also protects against nightmares.
Lettuce: Yes, really. Eat lettuce to promote sleep.
Poppy Seeds: Eating poppy seeds or using them in a sleep pillow may provide some relief from insomnia.
Spearmint: Drink spearmint tea to induce lovely, restorative dreams.
Thyme: Use in sleep pillows to block nightmares.
Valerian: Pit in a sleep pillow for restful sleep.
Now go get some rest, and blessed be.

This is actually such a a good idea. I'll keep this in mind and when the votes come in, I'll see what the general consensus is before implementing any total idea. I'll probably stick with Ko-Fi because Etsy is... not great.
Thank you so much for your feedback, friend <3
