info about the palm springs fertility clinic bombing because i heard about it this morning and was really interested

on may 17 at 10:52 am, a car bombing occurred at a reproductive center in palm springs, california, the attack killed the perpetrator and injured 4 others.

the perpetrator is a 25-year-old named guy edward bartkus, he has been described as having "nihilistic views" and reportedly identified himself as the perpetrator of the bombing in a video posted online, in which he described himself as a "pro-mortalist", saying in a manifesto that people did not give consent to exist. he also reportedly left a 30-minute audio recording in which he explained his reasoning for the attack. (it has not been released yet, as far as i know) a website purporting to be made by barkus explains his views by saying in part, "...your death is already a guarantee, and you can thank your parents for that one. all a pro-mortalist is saying is let's make it happen sooner rather than later."

on a "pro-mortalist" website bartkus went on before the bombing, he wrote that the suicide was the catalyst for his decision to bomb the fertility clinic. bartkus left a 30-minute audio recording explaining his motive for the alleged attack, saying “i figured i would just make a recording explaining why ive decided to bomb an IVF building, or clinic,” he said. “basically, it just comes down to im angry that i exist and that, you know, nobody got my consent to bring me here.”

he supported efilism, adam lanzas opinions & videos, veganism, and misandry.

also known as samantha, the abundant life christian school shooter. below is everything i could find on her and her life.

date of death, the shooting

on december 16th, 2024, a 15 year old freshman at abundant life christian school, madison, wisconsin, would open fire in the schools study hall. this 15 year old girl is natalie rupnow, who went by the name samantha.

on the day of the shooting, samantha went to the bathroom and took a picture of herself, holding up an OK symbol, which can also be associated with white supremacists. it is unclear which symbol she intended in this moment, but considering sams connections with racism its likely to be the white supremacy symbol.

upon leaving the bathroom, a student reported seeing samantha walking down the hallway and into the study hall where she would act out her attack, roughly 15 minutes later.

samantha would begin firing using a 9mm handgun at 10:57 AM. she would fire a total of 21 times, killing 2 and injuring 6 before shooting herself at 11:05. she was armed with 2 handguns, but only 1 was used in the attack. police reportedly arrived at the scene in about 3 minutes, and by the time they made it to the study hall the shooting had already ceased. the 2 victims who were killed were 42 year old substitute teacher Erin West and 14 year old student Rubi Vergara. they were both pronounced dead at the scene. police found samantha on the floor, still alive, but struggling immensely from a self inflicted gunshot wound. she died on the way to the hospital.

samanthas home life

her parents, jeff rupnow and melissa rupnow, were both mentioned several times in her alleged manifesto, especially her father, jeff. samantha described him as an alcoholic and a "failure", she goes on to explain how he didnt see her as his daughter and wouldnt show her any respect, excluding her from the family and making her "stand out in the worst way possible".

her manifesto also describes a time when she was around 12 years old, and her mother had supposedly attempted to overdose and commit suicide. samantha claims that she wouldnt care if her mother had lived or died and that although her mother was still around, she wasnt truly apart of samanthas life.

samanthas parents had divorced and remarried several times, which samantha says didnt affect her much besides making her feel more alone. loneliness seems to be a very common theme in the way samantha interacted with the world. she says that her parents admitted that they didnt want her, and that she was frequently made to sit in another room so people wouldnt have to interact with her. this caused her to stay in her room all day and night by herself. samantha claims that she would rather be dead than sit in a room all day, meaning these moments with her parents likely influenced her suicidal thoughts that she mentioned having.

samantha talks about a time when she was younger where she was at a very low point, mentally but possibly physically as well. she says its a moment of her life that she has never mentioned to anyone, claiming that no one cared then and no one would care now. she describes possibly hallucinating while laying on the floor, unable to move. she was struggling to breathe and everything was severely overwhelming to her in the moment. she begged her mother to help her, but she didn't. she instead stayed in the other room hanging out with her boyfriend while samantha suffered alone. samantha says that she still sometimes feels the way she did that day, but shes learned to control it and handle it by herself since no one else will help her. she got used to being alone, and claimed to enjoy it, but she still had a desire for friendship.

samanthas school experiences

her classmates considered her to be "out of pocket" and weird. some students even reported that they were kinda scared of her. she was known for constantly chugging energy drinks, and she would always come to school in collared shirts with ties, jeans, and her iconic combat boots. although samantha didnt have many friends and she usually kept to herself, there was a small clique of students she was friends with that all dressed similarly to her.

samantha was frequently looked down upon in school for lacking educational skills. she was consistently bullied and teased at school before she switched to abundant life, however switching schools didnt make the teasing stop. she had gotten tired of being a target of bullying and constantly being left out no matter where she went. she claims she had been backed into a corner in every aspect of her life, and she claims that these types of people are the reason hate exists, and why she chose to be apart of her so called revolution.

taking all of these factors into consideration, with her mental health struggles and the isolation she's experienced in her life, its not hard to imagine how she managed to spiral into what she became. she would idolize other killers that she considered to be "saints" and ideals of the future. she claims that rather than her original plan to kill herself, she would help evolution by taking out others who are creating hate. she did not consider herself to be someone who is hateful or apart of the demographic she targeted.

samantha was born on november 7th, 2009. she brags about how her birthday is exactly 2 years after the school shooting committed by pekka eric auvinen.

samantha showed interest in right wing politics, anti black racism, and national socialism. this is expressed through her tiktok reposts, her manifesto, and other social media accounts. for example, her bio on tiktok, @/targetedbloodsport, had the phrase "totally nice day" which is a common dog whistle that means "total nword death". in november of 2024, around election time, she reposted several videos in support of president donald trump.

samantha played a lot of games, occasionally livestreaming her playthroughs on twitch and facebook. she played games like job simulator, postal, needy streamer overload, genshin impact, identity V, minecraft, fortnite, and more.

she had an interest in various animes, such as neon genesis evangelion, puella magi madoka magica, lucky star, and others.

her music taste consisted of a lot of electronic and industrial music, such as KMFDM, chemlab, mindless self indulgence, goreshit, and others. she also listened to marilyn manson, nine inch nails, rammstein, suicidal tendencies, heelflip, fried by fluoride, and various different russian bands and artists.

samantha expressed a strong hatred for people who she considers "tccslop" that are romantically or sexually attracted to killers.

despite usually getting called a columbine copy, she listed eric harris and dylan klebold as secondary inspirations in the style of an "honorable mentions" list. she was much more passionate about killers like pekka eric auvinen, arda kucukyetim, and vladislav roslyakov.
