Ejide has been there for a while now and he told me nice things about the club. I'm delighted I've joined a club that believes in me. It's a great opportunity for me to play again, give my best and help the club achieve their aims and objectives.

Welcome John Ugo!

We are happy to welcome a new member to our red family! John Ugochukwu arrived in Be'er Sheva a few weeks ago, during the international break. He played one game for us, against Maccabi Petah Tikva in the Toto cup and made a great impression, both on the crowd and the management. This Sunday, Ugo signed a four year contract with Hapoel Be'er sheva and we can't wait to see him in red!

You watch Nigeria's games and still want to be playing, singing the national anthem and fight for your country. The first thing I need to do is to get back playing here in Israel regularly and leave the rest to the Nigeria coach to decide. If I work hard and do well here, hopefully I'll get another chance with Nigeria.

HB7 are out of the Toto Cup

Although some may say it's an unimportant cup, the elimination of the team after the 0:0 against Maccabi Petah Tikve left a sour taste in our mouth. Hapoel, who didn't played with the strongest line up, did looked better than on Saturday but it wasn't enough.

One bright spot was John Ogu, a Nigerian central midfielder, who came for mutual impression and made good 73 minutes. The player is now undergoing medical tests and the decision about him will be made by next week.

It's updates time!

Matchday! Hapoel Be'er Sheva will meet Maccabi Petah Tikve today in the fourth round of the Toto Cup. Hapoel is coming with a very short squad as Maor Melikson, Siraj Nassar, Shlomi Arbeitman and Or Havivyan are out injured.

This is the last game Hapoel will play in this tournament after losing the third game of the cup. The team played Beitar Jerusalem and lost 0-3 after an unconvincing preformance.

Four other players will miss the game due to international duty. Elyaniv Barda, Maor Buzaglo and Ofir Davidzada has been called for the Israeli National Team and Austin Ejide will travel to his homeland, Nigeria.

Ben Grabli has asked permission to leave the club after he realised he won't getting a lot of playing time. The player, who said he wants to develop, has been told he can search for a team that will loan him for one season.

In away games, we get something like twenty tickets for the VIP stands. I always come with my boys and they bring their friends, so I prefer to bring those twenty tickets to the sponsors of the team, and sit with the fans. I don't eat anything anyway because of the stress and the small talk doesn't interest me. Listening to your fans is very important, it's the best feedback an owner of a club can get.

My kids are crazy about it in ways you can't understand. The youngest, Yonatan, is our best scout, there isn't a player in the league he doesn't know. About Melikson, for example, he didn't stop bothering until it was a done deal. He kept asking: 'So, did Valenciennes release him already? He signed? He didn't sign?' I told him, 'Yonatan, relax'. But he didn't. He came to my bed, 'Are there any news? Call France, what did they say? Is there an agreement?', drove me mad. The son that is in the army is also strong in this business. It made the whole family insane about football. Three boys, so they're completely in it. If I had a daughter, she would be crazy about football as well.

Weekly Update!

On Tuesday, Hapoel Be’er Sheva played against S.C Ashdod in the group stage of the Toto Cup, finishing in the result of 1-1. Bello scored the opening goal for Ashdod in the 14th minute and Dovev Gabay equalized in the 36th minute. 

Shlomi Arbeitman was injured and had to be substitued, taking a bad  hit to the ankle, but from later diagnosis, the injury is not as harmful as first thought, and Shlomi will be able to train again in the next couple of days.

Siraj Nassar was supposed to be on the bench that game, but after complaining of pain in the hamstring muscle, the player preferred to see the game from the stands.

After medical tests, bad news came to us about Maor Melikson who has a torn hamstring, and will be absent for about a month.

In spite of the cease-fire, Ligat Ha’al will not open this Saturday, due to the crowed restrictions who have not been sustained yet. The Toto Cup game against Beitar Jerusalem will occur tomorrow, in Bloomfield, TA.
