Israel is now carrying out another massive terrorist attack in Lebanon. Similar to the pager attack yesterday, Israel is targeting electronic devices and making them explode all over the country:
Reuters news agency reported, citing both a security source and an eyewitness, that the devices involved in Wednesday’s explosions were portable radios, unlike the pagers that were attacked the previous day. Al-Mayadeen reported that the devices, apparently ICOM V82s, detonated, and “due to the devices containing highly flammable lithium batteries, the explosions were severe.” “The explosions caused massive fires in cars, motorcycles, apartments, and stores all over Lebanon,” the report added.
Several residential buildings and shops are on fire. Nine people have been killed so far, and hundreds more are wounded.

People with family in Lebanon are now receiving texts and calls from their loved ones telling them not to worry if they don't hear from them for a few days, as they're scared their phones might be rigged with explosives.
What do you call this, if not terrorism?

BIG WIN FOR PALESTINE.
The United Nations General Assembly adopts a Palestinian resolution calling on Israel to end its occupation by an overwhelming majority:
124 states voted in favour, 43 abstained, 14 voted against.
Israel is finished. The world recognises it's apartheid and genocidal regime.

just wanna point some things out:
stop acting like israel just attacked out of nowhere. hezbollah has been relentlessly bombing northern israel since october 8th, one of these bombings being on a soccer field and resulted in twelve children dead.
the pagers and walkie talkies weren't public electronics. they were only owned by hezbollah officers. if you don't belong to terrorist organization who bombs israel, i promise you your iphone is fine.
civilian casualties are horrible. i'm not going to sit here and act like civilians weren't injured and killed, because they were and it's heartbreaking. but civilians weren't the target. israel very much could have just dropped bombs, but they didn't. most of the casualties were hezbollah members.

It's very telling how so many people are claiming to be read up on middle eastern history, specifically Palestinian history, yet know fuck all about jewish history.
Like no for real, judaism started in the middle east. A lot of our history has to do with the middle east.
How the actual fuck are you going to claim you aren't antisemitic whilst ignoring history of a whole ass group and claiming you're knowledgeable or an expert on history in that region.
Like stop beating around the bush and say you hate jews

Shabbat Shalom everyone,
I know we all have faced the onslaught of irrational and outright offensive takes this week. We all had to deal with extremely online people telling us how we should feel.
And, so, I want to tell you, for this shabbat, take a moment, look back and remind yourself that life is not like this outside of the internet.
I am a visible jew. I live in London, I have peyos and a kippah. Sometimes my tzitzis are visible. I look like this everytime I go outside, to go to the post office, the doctor, grocery store etc. Clearly I would be a prime target and my life would be in danger everytime I step out of my house based on the kind of content we see on tumblr, right? Well.
Have I faced harassment? Yes of course. But you know what? That was 1% of the time. And I won't talk about these 1% occurence this time.
99% of the time when I go out, I get no comments, no hate, no weird looks. People at the post office, at the doctor's, at the grocery store are respectful.
When I took my partner to the hospital, there were kosher meals, a shabbes room, kind accomodating people on the lift on shabbat.
When I go outside, I am a completely normal person living a completelu normal visibly Jewish life and 99.9% of people have no issue with it. Please remember this.
The world isn't as dark as it seems online. Not everybody is out to get you. Reach out to your friends, neighbours, classmates. Share a meal, be generous, do tzedakah.
This will end and it will be ok.
Shabbat Shalom.

Earlier today, a Sky News correspondent called the Lebanon pager attack - which was almost certainly carried out by Israeli intelligence - "particularly innovative". An article in the New York Times called it "eye-catching". This is the same attack that killed nine people (including two children), injured nearly 3,000, caused mass eye injuries and left 460 people needing surgery.
The Mail on Sunday commentator Dan Hodges said: "It's hard to think of a more sophisticated or targeted attack on a terror group than pagers." What's sophisticated about killing a nine-year-old girl? What's targeted about injuring thousands of people in civilian areas, with no way of knowing who was holding the pagers at the time the bombs detonated?

The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) has overwhelmingly adopted a resolution calling on Israel to end its illegal occupation of the Palestinian territories within a year, a move that Palestine hailed as “historic”. The nonbinding measure passed a 124-14 vote on Wednesday, with 43 countries abstaining. The UNGA demanded that “Israel brings to an end without delay its unlawful presence in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, which constitutes a wrongful act of a continuing character entailing its international responsibility, and do so no later than 12 months”. It also called on Israel to make reparations to Palestinians for damages incurred by the occupation.

there’s such a specific Israeli Feeling tm where you have to see the majority of people on social media being so openly violent towards you, and like… properly and proudly state how they want to brutally murder you. It’s such a trip to see how a statement like ‘don’t harass Israelis’ or ‘don’t wish for the horrible slaughter of Israelis’ are seen as the epitome of evil, or how it really is the norm to just state your violent fantasies about us and how much you hope we get murdered. It’s really hard to explain to non-Israelis because it’s just so intense and so blatant, and honestly I feel like it’s also treated as way less horrible than it actually is by people who don’t hate Israelis (yeah including other Jews but I don’t want to think about that right now lol)

for those saying that the exploding pagers and phones and walkie talkies is not worth it: remember that communications is a huge part of coordinating where and how an army attacks.
it's never good to escalate tensions but remember that Hezbollah has been bombing Israel for months and aimed a fucking rocket at a children's soccer game killing 12 children.
Israel retaliated for months and years of bombing, pin point attacked the people responsible for that, avoided mass casualties/minimized casualties of uninvolved civilians and made a great statement to the general population of civilians about staying away from terrorists in their personal life.
Edit: I forgot to add that explosive pagers and shit is super funny. I like it a lot. Very goofy and effective.
