Hard and Heavy on the PM - 5/13/17 - Happy 50th Chuck/Happy 30th Scream Bloody Gore

30 years ago (and 2 days ago too) Scream Bloody Gore was released.  Scream Bloody Gore was one of the first Death Metal albums forged and helped forge the genre into what it is today.  Between the thrashy riffs, the gory imagery and Chuck’s harsh vocals, it still stands the test of time and is a classic.  Speaking of Chuck, happy birthday Chuck.  It’s crazy to think had he not died, he would have been 50 years old.  Blows my mind.  Gone way too soon, and gave us some classic music.  Thanks for everything Chuck.  That being said, new music this week includes Mastodon, Emyn Muil and Insane Vesper:

This week was the anniversary of J Dilla’s Donuts, his birthday and his death day.  Here on Hard and Heavy on the PM honored him by playing a lot of his music, the stuff he sampled and the stuff he remixed.  Thanks for everything Dilla, we miss you.  Also shoutout to Nujabes, it was his birthday on the same exact day as Dilla.  Two different men, same birthday, same legendary influence, different beats and world’s apart.  Both are missed.
