Hi! So it's been a whole age and I just wanted to give a little bit of an update on this blog.

When I started this blog, I did it as a channel for all the frustration and anxiety I felt in my old job that I'd quit round June 2018. I think it was a few months after that when I realised that I needed to slow things down on this blog as well as my depression was rearing its head and my family was dealing with some personal issues.

And that led to me not updating anything at all, and let me just be honest with you, I'd waffled about whether to continue or just delete this blog outright. By then, this blog had become something like a job and I didn't like that. Towards the end of me accepting requests, I'd been on the receiving end of a continuous contact from a person who'd contacted me in the past about making moodboards for them, and while I did them, I fell behind on one of their requests because of my real life circumstances. They then contacted me asking about it and I apologised but I didn't think I would be doing it at all. I thought it was then end of that matter but I'd not reckoned the long memory this person has and recently they contacted me and were still persistent about me fulfilling their request.

Which I promptly told them was not happening as I have not had, and will not for the foreseeable future, have any desire of making any moodboards. To which their reply was, I'm a college student and I get being busy but I'd still been hoping to receive what I asked of you but oh well c'est la vie.

Which.

I mean.

I'm doing this for absolutely no money unless you're actually paying me (which they didn't) & on my own time. I don't publicise my personal issues on this blog, so I can understand not knowing my circumstances, but how insensitive can you be to not catch a hint that if it's been a year, your shit isn't getting made by me.

Sorry, I know this was supposed to be an update, and it is. I do not know when I'll be back. I have always been, first and foremost, a writer, so my fics are my main thing. I have a new job that's taking up most of my energies and pursuits that I have found worthy of my time, so I am busting my ass to hustle for it. So for now, it's a hiatus. I'm so sorry everyone, but I gotta prioritise. I have to take care of me and my being.

Thank you to everyone who has been reblogging and liking some of the old stuff here. I appreciate you all so much. Please be kind to one another. Watch out for each other and I hope that the rest of 2019 treats you good.

My Asexual Story, 2018.

Another little autobiographical comic I whipped together (this was drawn in like two hours tops so don’t judge the drawings lmao). To clarify, I am in a happy long-term committed relationship with a non-ace girl and we’re both very happy with our relationship, and I have never had bad experiences with relationships because of my asexuality. Being ace isn’t a big deal to me - I barely think about it - but asexuality is something that a lot of people seem to have trouble fully understanding, so I wanted to take some time to describe it the way I see it in my life and from my perspective. Every story is different - here’s mine.

Shen Wei is only half listening to their guide on the campus tour. He’s already decided that he’s going to Oxford on a full scholarship, so this is merely caving into the whims of his uncle to visit his alma mater before he made his official selection. At least it’s a nice day out, he thinks, turning to look over the Quad. And that’s when he sees him; divinely bewitching, leaning against the railing, face tilted to the sky. 

“Who is that?” He asks out loud. 

“Oh, him?” Their guide follows his line of sight, shaking his head. “That’s Professor Zhao. He teaches Chinese Mythology. You don’t want him. He’s a bit of a hard-ass.” He grins, picking up his tour spiel where he left off.

Shen Wei looks back over to him, even as the rest of the group moves to follow their guide with the cat bells. Maybe he could do his Undergraduate here...

"Who are you?” Yunlan asks. The apparition startles, looking up.

“You... Can see me?” He says slowly. He moves, the flow of his robes floating as he takes a soundless step to him. A part of Yunlan’s chest hurt at the sight of him. The bright gleam in his eyes that solidifies with each second that passes between them. “I thought the heirs of Zhao have lost the ability to do that.”

“Heirs?” Yunlan frowns. “My friend, you speak so strangely.” He stays where he is, swallowing back a thought when the apparition comes close enough that he almost imagines the smell of plum blossoms and tea permeate the air. “Who are you?” He asks again.

A sad smile graces his lips, eyes turning sad. “Someone who has lived many lifetimes to see your face.” He lifts his hand. The moment hangs in stasis. Yunlan licks his lips in anticipation of a touch that, when it comes, brings the world alive.

He holds his breath. He reaches up to touch the hand on his skin. Gasping in wonderment as the tears fill his eyes.

“Shen Wei?”

A soft laugh. “Hello, my love.”

Yunlan is unrepentant. Chin jutted out, lips pursed, eyes defiant. Shen Wei dabs on his knuckles with Dettol. “You shouldn’t have done that.” He says softly, looking down, “You could be in a lot of trouble.”

“Talk shit, get hit.” Yunlan hisses over the sting of the medication. “He had it coming.”

The corner of Shen Wei’s lips twitch. As if unable to decide whether to smile or frown. He’s already half-expecting the Dean to call them both in, but he cannot deny the satisfaction of seeing Yunlan punch that motor mouth who’d been spreading the rumours that they were both seeing each other romantically.

Nor can he deny the warm curl of pleasure at the way Yunlan had held his hand after, and pulled him from the gathering crowd.

“I’m not some damsel in need of rescue.” He says after a lull while he bandages Yunlan’s hand.

“You’re not.” Yunlan tilts his head, “But I’ll still be there anyways.”
