As I have not posted in a while I thought I would post some photos of my most recent work, these are resolved pieces of work which I have created. The main overall theme for these pieces is Hydrocephalus which is a build up of fluid on the brain. When I was born I was diagnosed with this and therefore I have coped with the side effects since then. What do you all think???? Thanks

University exhibition :) each frame has a web of cotton, string, or glue which represent maps or journeys that I have taken or where I have been. The further away frames have more density and structure to them and are less fragile

These pieces look at the connections between where people come from, where they have been and where they want to go in the future. Rather than looking at drawn maps they show the maps placed, drawn or projected onto the people in order to add a personal touch to them. Some of the maps have been combined with other mas of places that are miles away from each other but relate to the person who they have been placed onto.

This is a piece of work by Simon Elvins. The description below explains why I was first intrigued by it, in his words.
Using information the government has collected on noise levels within London, a map has been plotted of the capitals most silent spaces. The map intends to reveal a hidden landscape of quiet spaces and shows an alternate side of the city that would normally go unnoticed.

This is an artist I recently found in a book, her work intrigued me due to the way in which she uses many different fabrics and materials as her medium. Creating maps in such a simple and effective way in order to catch the eye of the viewer.
