This was a blatant lie but she couldn’t exactly go around saying she was a magical girl — even if she was caught mid transformation. It probably was best to try and play dumb for now but knowing how she was Madoka would probably tell them eventually since she hated lying to others.

Panicking Madoka shakes her head holding up her hands in front of her. The gesture was sweet but Madoka already had a CD player all they had to do was stop by her house so she could get it. Of course, maybe she could invite Viola into her house to listen. She was sure her parents wouldn’t mind.

“No, no that’s ok! I have one at home that we can use we’ll just have to stop by my house to pick it up.”

Looking at the other girl in confusion Viola gave a shrug at the girls question, if she wanted to share her birthday gift then who was she to judge?

“Sure, why not. Do you have a music player on you?”

The girl didn’t listen to music that often, she never saw any point in it when it could be distracting but there was nothing wrong with trying something new was there? Besides who would be rude enough to deny a birthday girl?

Blinking rapidly she stares at the other in shock. The action wasn’t unwelcomed in fact knowing that she had received such affection from them made her happy — it just caught her off guard

Gingerly she takes the gift being careful to open it as gently as possible she’d hate to ruin the beautiful paper Naoto had carefully wrapped it in. Pulling out the gifts she couldn’t help but smile. Naoto-kun really was thoughtful!

“Oh it’s so cute! I love it thank you so much, Naoto-kun! Maybe we could share something at the sweets shop together with the gift card you gave me!”
