Two years ago, I graduated with my MA in creative writing and had my first publication with a lit journal for their Pride issue. I've been submitting different pieces consistently since then, and I sometimes receive very gracious rejections that state I nearly made it to the final cut, and that they hope to read more in the future. I know I am very lucky to have had these responses at all. Being so close to acceptance all of the time is constantly waiting for exciting news that is sure to come-- for years. This is a wild system, guys.
